This beauty is Barkley, and we are hoping that the perfect forever home is out there for this sweet girl. She is a special gal who has a few quirks, but let’s face it...don’t we all?! Barkley is 4 years old, and we are told is a lab/boxer mix, but it’s possible she may have some pit in her as well. She does well with all dogs that are around her size or larger. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she has been a little too interested in the cats she has come into contact with...so we are recommending a cat-free home. Barkley’s ideal home would be a calm household on a quiet street with minimal visitors and a fenced-in yard. She tends to get nervous when meeting new people, and her forever family will need to understand that she’ll need some time and a safe space (her crate) to allow her to warm up and be more comfortable. Once she is bonded with her people she also tends to be a bit protective of them, so may need to be crated if new people visit her home. Barkley’s foster mom says once she is comfortable with people, she is so very sweet, goofy, cuddly, and lovable! She loves bones, playing ball, and her stuffed toys. She is crate-trained, keeps a very clean kennel, and is fully house-trained. She also loves playing and snuggling with her 4-legged foster siblings, so Barkley would love another dog in her forever home to both learn from and bond with. She also loves going for walks, but does need consistency and continued training when on-leash as she does get stressed and vocal when meeting other dogs/people when leashed. Having some yummy treats along on her walks definitely helps! She will need an experienced owner with an abundance of patience and grace. We are also recommending no young children in the home (kids ages 15+ would be best). Biggie...💙 A big, beautiful boy with a big history. Biggie spent the first 10 months of his life in a shelter environment. He was adopted, returned 2 days later (due to no fault of his own), and scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, an amazing rescue partner stepped in and spared Biggie’s life. Fast-forward to today: Biggie is now between 3-4 years old. He is likely a boxer/Great Dane mix, and he weighs just under 100lbs. He is a complex boy who needs a very specific home, but we are confident we can find him the most perfect forever! In general, Biggie is apprehensive of all new people, but in particular of men and deep voices. He needs a home environment with minimal visitors. And when there are visitors, he needs his own space and a family who will follow a specific protocol for his needs as outlined by the awesome trainers who have been working with him. He also needs a 6ft(+) fenced-in yard. Biggie is not a dog that needs (or necessarily wants) to take walks; the commotion and stimulation of the encounters experienced on walks are stressful for him. He would also do best in a home with no young children and no cats/small animals. Biggie has lived successfully with other dogs, but the other dog(s) in the home should be quieter, to be a calming force for Biggie. Biggie has also started on some anxiety meds and they have helped him tremendously! He is much happier and more carefree. He truly is such a sweet, sweet boy who just needs to find his people/person. Once he is comfortable with you, he will love you like none other! Biggie knows basic commands, is potty-trained and crate-trained, and does do best crated when home alone due to experiencing some slight separation anxiety when his humans are away. His favorite activities include just hanging out with his people and especially snuggling. We would desperately love to get Biggie out of boarding and into a foster/adoptive home. This sweet boy is Bridger, and he is looking for a very special foster and/or forever home. Bridger is a 3-4 year old, 40lb husky mix that has been a part of the New Leash family for 2 years. He came to us from a very unique situation (along with Andes, Honey, Snowbird, etc.) and is one of the most extreme cases of undersocialization we have ever seen. Bridger has been staying with our awesome crew at Fun Fur Pets, and has spent the last 2 years learning to simply “be” a dog. Although he has made leaps and bounds, Bridger is still extremely timid around people. He would much rather hang with dogs (which prior to his arrival is all he’s ever known). And although he is timid, Bridger is more of a “cautious + run-and-hide-from-human-interaction” type pup. He has never shown any sign of aggression towards people. However, he still needs a person/family who is calm, quiet, and respectful of him, his personal space, and his needs. Bridger will also need a home with a 6ft+ fully fenced-in yard. Because of his timidness, Bridger is/will be considered a flight risk. He needs a secure space where he can learn to be himself, safely be contained, and explore to his heart’s content. He will also need other dogs (the more, the better!) in the home, as his 4-legged friends are how he observes, learns, and gains confidence. Something to note is that he does like to play pretty rough & tough with his doggie friends. He also needs a home with no children. The quieter the home, the better; Bridger is just not a social butterfly and he probably never will be. Although it has taken Bridger a long time to trust, he has made such huge strides in his abilities to coexist with humans. We just can’t believe this sweet boy hasn’t been snatched up yet! Frankie (male) is a fun, snuggly, goofy, smart 2 year old — best guess — pointer/pittie mix. He is a young boy and still has plenty of energy, but he also thoroughly enjoys his cuddle sessions when playtime is done. He weighs around 60lbs and does well with other dogs of all sizes...but he does like to play pretty rough and tumble, so another dog his size (or larger) in the home would be best. It is currently unknown how he does with cats. Frankie ADORES people! He does tend to get excitable and can be mouthy during playtime (note: he is never mean, just overly playful), so we would recommend a home with older children (at least 12+) and a family who can continue to work with him on his training, manners, and understanding his boundaries. He also gets very excited at his meal times (to be fair, don’t we all?!), so a slow-feeder bowl would be a good investment. Frankie’s foster family says he is a smart boy and a quick learner; he knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and is working on how to stay and high five. He is fully potty-trained (no accidents at all!) and crate-trained. He is a social boy and would make someone an awesome walking, running, or hiking buddy. He can’t wait to find his forever person/family. This beautiful babe is still searching for a forever of her own (it’s hard to believe, we know!). Kai is a 1 year old pointer mix, weighing in just around 40 lbs. She is a happy, energetic, and playful girl. Kai tends to be fairly calm inside the house (loves to lounge, loves her squeaky toys, and chewing on bones, etc.) but gets more excitable and energetic once she is outdoors. Similarly, during the day, she is wide awake and full of energy...while after supper she is ready to just settle in and snuggle/keep you warm. She LOVES to run, and is lightning fast! When outdoors, Kai is very focused on her surroundings and/or movement, such as wildlife and people + dogs walking by. Her foster family feels that she would do best in a home that has experience with a high energy pup like Kai. She is such a smart cookie; she knows how to sit, shake, stay, and does a good job of minding her manners. She is crate-trained and fully potty-trained. Kai has also spent some time with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets, and below outlines further the ideal home environment to ensure that Kai (in all her energy!) is successful: 1️⃣ Kai needs a fenced-in yard (6ft+).  2️⃣ Kai loves other dogs and loves to play with them, so any other dogs in the home should also love to play. She plays pretty rough, so will need dogs her size (40 lbs) or larger. She would also do just fine as an only dog!  3️⃣ Kai needs a home with no kids (ages 16+ would be ok), as she has herding tendencies and will likely try to herd/chase them. 4️⃣ Kai needs a home without cats, chickens, or other small animals. All in all, Kai is truly such a fun-loving, energetic, goofy girl, who has such a zest for life! More than anything, she just needs that perfect family who understands her and her needs. This pretty lady is Sable, and she is a very timid but very, very sweet girl! She weighs about 25lbs, is 1-2 years old, and while we don’t necessarily know her breed mix...she likes to curl up into a little ball — resembling a fawn — when she sleeps. Sable will do best in an all-female home. She was previously in a home with males (it doesn’t matter if it’s adults or children), and she didn’t really begin to thrive until she moved to a foster with no males in the household. In addition, a quiet home with little traffic/visitors, and minimal household members would be best. Sable gets stressed when there is a lot of commotion, so would also need a home with either no kids or older kids (15+). She does take some time to adjust, but once she settles in she really loves sitting on/next to a warm lap every chance she gets! And Sable LOVES sleeping! She can nap, nap, and nap some more! She also likes having a spot on the couch or bed where she can retreat to if she needs to feel safe/secure. Sable loves making a nest out of blankets, especially fleece ones. She loves kongs (filled with peanut butter, of course!), bully sticks, and any kind of treat! She is still learning how fun balls and toys can be, but we are confident she’ll learn in her own timing. She really enjoys car rides, and she doesn't mind baths! She does great on walks and walking on-leash, but if you have to miss a day of walking she really doesn’t mind. She'll just nap a little extra that day! Sable will need another doggie friend in her forever home to help her confidence + show her the ropes, but she really prefers other mellow dogs. Hyper dogs can freak her out/confuse her, and she tends to bark at them. She also alerts her foster family when there are any visitors, as they do make her nervous (when the mail comes, someone gets close to the fence, walks by, etc.). Sable can jump very high, so a 6ft(+) fence will be required in her forever home. When it comes to potty-training, Sable won't ask to go outside so potty breaks do need to be offered to her. She does great with a good, consistent routine established by her people. We know that Sable needs a very special home, but if you give her just a few weeks of bonding time she will definitely open up and begin to show her sweet, cuddly side more and more. She just needs a patient mama/BFF/sidekick and a low-key home. She is SO incredibly sweet and has so much love to offer. This handsome hunk is Tiger! He is headed our way in the next day or two, and he is hoping he has a place to land when he does. Tiger is a gorgeous brindle colored mix (possibly pittie, possibly boxer) who is 2 years old and weighs around 65lbs. He is said to be just an overall good boy. He loves other dogs and enjoys playing with them, loves people, does well walking on-leash, and from what we know he is housebroken. Cats are currently unknown, and we don’t yet have first-hand knowledge about how he would do with young children. This handsome dude is Titus, and he is looking to bust out of boarding and into a foster/adoptive home of his own before the holidays! He is a 2 year old pittie mix who is still young and impressionable, and needs a person/family who will help him continue to build his confidence and learn how to simply “be a dog.” Titus has what we would call an immature play style, so he does need another dog in his foster/forever home who matches that play style and can help show Titus the ropes. He tends to view the world as big and scary, so he needs a calm home, a family that will help him maneuver new experiences at his own pace, and who will continue to work on his training with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets. Titus has learned so much from the crew at FFP, and they have also been able to pinpoint the type of home environment that will best help Titus succeed and thrive. He needs a fenced-in yard (his safe space where he can run, roam, and play), and children in the home should be ages 16+. He is such a fun and playful boy who has so much love to give! He especially loves his 4-legged playmates, playing fetch, and with his toys. He is kennel-trained and potty-trained. He does need to go to a home without cats.
