About Bud
Hi friends! It’s me, Bud. I know it might be kind of hard to believe...but I’m still in the market for a forever family! My New Leash sisters/previous housemates — Pippin, Robyn, and Zayda — have found their homes (and I’m soooo tail-waggin’ happy for them!), and my foster family tells me every single day that my people are out there, too. I just can’t wait until I get to meet them! I hear that “forever” is something that all of us pups dream about...so I promise to keep being super-duper patient until I’m able to find mine! First, let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I am 2 years old, a pretty average-sized boy at 50-55lbs, and am the handsomest shar pei mix with the most lovable little ears! My first home was in Texas; all of my 4-legged housemates (23 of us, to be exact) and I made our way to Wisconsin after our owner passed away. We were pretty sad and confused for a little while, but I can’t complain...life is pretty darn good up here (but what’s this winter thing that people keep talking about??)! My foster mama tells me all the time that I am just the best boy ever. I love my people friends, and love just lounging/hanging with them. Sometimes it takes me just a little bit of time to come out of my shell, but I promise that once I do, I’m not at all shy! I’m the happiest boy with a very gentle and sweet demeanor. Foster mom tells me that I’m super easy-going for a 2 year old. I’m not sure what that means...but I do know that some of my favorite things include napping (and cuddling!) on the couch, lounging on the deck/in the backyard while sunbathing, and occasionally chewing on a bone. I’m not big into those things called toys, but I do LOVE other doggie friends! It would be so much fun to have another 4-legged companion in my forever home! I love to romp, run, and play with other dogs if they’re into it, but will also respect dogs who simply want their space (like I said...I’m a chill dude!). I am kennel-trained, potty-trained, have mad skills using a doggy-door, and also love my walks and do well on-leash. I don’t really know what cats are, so if my potential family has them I would probably need to be cat-tested first. I have also met a few kids, and my foster family thinks I would do best with kids ages 10+. It’s not that I didn’t like the younger kids, but I was pretty confused (probably due to my lack of exposure) by the tiny humans crawling/running around. I think I would do best if any kids in the home were just a little bit older, so they could do things like walk me, feed me, play, and be respectful of when it’s my naptime...cuz after all, naps are the greatest! All in all, I am just the sweetest, happiest boy (be sure to check out the videos my foster mom took of me in the comments!), and would love nothing more than to find a family to call all mine! 💛
