About Buford

Adoption Fee: $85.00

This cool dude is Buford, a mastiff mix around a year old.  He was picked up by animal control as a stray and not reclaimed.  It is obvious Buford was on his own for awhile before being rescued.  He has a few small scars on his face and he is missing a little bit of his tongue.  Depsite this, he is probably the happiest dog you will ever meet.  Honestly, he never meets a stranger and loves everyone, he is very affectionate and outgoing and will do anything to please you.  He is good with other dogs (untested with cats) and he likes children, he is just a little unaware of how strong he is and he might accidently knock over a small child (he would never do it on purpose).  Buford is up to date with shots, nuetered, negative for heartworms/on prevention and crate trained.  To adopt Buford, please visit our website at www.myhstc.org and submit an adoption application.

Adoption fee is $85 which includes all veterinary care

We prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting.  To be screened, please submit an application via our website at www.myhstc.org

We do allow out of state adoptions.  However, we do not ship nor transport sight unseen pets for many reasons.  We require travel in person adoptions.

Chibi is a word for "small child" child in Japanese. When Chibi came to her foster home, she was about 6 weeks old but was only the size of about a two week old. She was extremely tiny for a very long time. She is still a small cat. She has an exotic look - she is a beautiful cat. Chibi is loving, sweet and still plays a great deal. She gets along with other cats when she wants to and loves her foster mom's dog. She has been fine around small children as well.  Chibi has a condition called stomatitis which causes extremely painful ulcers to form in her mouth and on her gums. Stomatitis is an auto-immune disorder. She gets a steroid shot when she starts having problems and it has worked wonderfully for her. Some cats with stomatitis may eventually have to have their teeth pulled if the condition can no longer be controlled by the steroids. Because of her need for careful monitoring so that she doesn't have to be in needless pain and can be taken for the steroid injection sooner rather than later, Chibi is considered special needs.  She is an awesome, beautiful girl that is a perfectly healthy cat other than her having stomatitis! She will give you loads of love for the rest of her life!! Please contact hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions about Chibi. Dom is a people watcher. He is wants to be a profiler for the FBI when he grows up. He can usually be found watching somebody, even his litter mates and foster siblings. He seems to quietly study his subjects, carefully pinpointing different traits. If his subject is a human, he finds any movement you make in his general direction to be an encroachment on his personal space and he will immediately vacate the area. Feline subjects that approach him are quietly regarded until they are within acceptable range for pouncing and engaging in ninja type maneuvers. If playing is ensued, Dom sheds his profiling persona and acts like the playful little ninja cat he is! He loves playing in the tub (without water please), racing up and down the cat tree, stalking his buddies and playing in empty boxes.  Dom is not into a lively social scene and prefers a more quiet, laid back lifestyle. Loud children will cause him to become invisible (he'll never come out of hiding!) If you are looking for a cuddle bug that is attentive, loving and excited to see you, keep looking - Dom is NOT your kitty. He will do absolutely nothing for your self-esteem. Dom thinks all that lovey-dovey crap is for dogs. He doesn't mind dogs at all - he thinks they are oafs and entirely too people pleasing! He would like a home with a family that will understand the role they will play in his life - the role of a servant. Occasionally, you will be (grudgingly) allowed to scratch him once or twice. He is wide open at three scratches. As snobbish as he is, Dom has a weakness for the elusive red dot - always use this to your advantage. You can submit an adoption application for Dom at www.myhstc.org/cats. Please email hstcpurrs@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like more information on Dom. show less

They call me Grayson.  Everyone who sees me says "OMG, what a beautiful cat!  Don't they know I am an alpha male?  I am Handsome, and I know it. When we first meet, I may be a little nonchalant.  But, if I like you, I just might sit next to you or, if I really like you, I’ll sit on your lap and allow you to massage me.  I know what you’ll say when you touch me, "His fur is so luxurious".  I take very good care of my appearance.  There’s a lot of pressure when your only outfit is a velvet, gray tuxedo. My friend, Oscar, is my best bud.  We’d like to stay together, if possible.  As I said, I’m an alpha male.  He’s not.  So he lets me be the boss. Sometimes, I get very scared and I act crazy.  The first time I went inside, I freaked out and went berserk.  But, now, I love being inside where it is safe and clean and my paws stay much cleaner using a litterbox than digging in the dirt. Although I may take a little time to trust you, I am a very loving, gentle companion.  If you don’t have any other pets, Oscar and I would love to be a part of your family. I am FIV+, but don't let that scare you - I can live safely with spayed/neutered, FIV- cats inside without any problems. Ask my adoption screener and she can give you all the information you need. You can also Google FIV+ cats and learn about us. We are awesome cats!! Seriously? Do I look unhealthy? Do I look like a cat that fights? Of course not!!  I can't wait to meet you!!  show less

This precious puppy is Lucy (DOB Jan 2020), a pure bred Feist puppy looking for a home.  Lucy was surrendered to us by her breeder when she as 4 weeks old.  Unfortunatley her mother decided motherhood was not for her and attacked her litter.  Lucy was the most wounded of the litter and the breeder could not afford her vet care.  One of Lucy's eyes had to be removed and the other one is impaired.  She can see some but it is limited sight.  She also lost a bit of her tongue and has a bit of ear missing.  That is the bad news.  The good news is that Lucy has a zest for life like no other dog we have seen in a long time.  She is super friendly and outgoing and her spirit has not been at all affected by what has happened to her.  She runs and plays like a normal puppy.  Lucy is active and will need a home that can meet her energy requirements.  She will eventually wear herself out and become a sleepy cuddle bug but she does love to play.  She is good with other dogs, is fine with cats and would be great for a home with kids that are looking for a dog that wouldn't mind some rough play.  Lucy is up to date with shots, spayed, negative for heartworms/on prevention and is learning housebreaking, we are not quite there yet but she will hold it while being crated.  If you think you are a fit for Lucy, please visit our website at www.myhstc.org to submit an adoption application. Adoption fee is $85 which includes all vet work We prescreen all applicants prior to a meeting.  To be screened, please submit an adoption application at www.myhstc.org show less
