Hello,  My name is Agnes.  I am a beautiful woman that likes to play hard to get.  I don't just go with the first young thing to come along.  I am looking for a long lasting relationship with a couple that has patience and allows me the time to get to know them, and adjust to the new life.  Once I get to know you, I will love you forever. Agnes 😍 this girl is all things gorgeous and on the search for a forever home that will make her their own. She has wonderful house manners and knows how to keep her kennel tidy. She is very playful and affectionate and enjoys playing in the yard with toys. She needs a family that will allow her time to adjust slowly she has come leaps and bounds trusting humans through day to day interactions and would love a family able to continue showing her the way. We love Agnes and know you will too.  Located in Sealy, TX Agnes is available for adoption through Sauver Des Chiens German Shepherd Dog Rescue.  Photos by the wonderfully talented Kelly Garvey Photography Trust, is what I lost when I was dumped and sent to a cold cruel shelter.  I had babies at the shelter and was so scared and alone.  That is when Sauver Des Chiens took me in.  All of my babies were adopted to good homes, but no one wanted me.  I had a little behavioral issue, being left behind.  Sauver Des Chiens sent me to work with Alex to help me overcome this.  I am much better now, but still take time to trust.  I need an adopter that understands that.  So if that is you, I can have my bags packed at the drop of a hat. Notes from Sonia Tauzin:  Hey Karen - are you able to help out with a 10 yr old shepherd boy. He was surrendered for being too big, gave intake staff issues and now he’s been labeled. I don’t make final with decisions anymore so I can’t buy slot of time. He took treats from me today and allowed pets through the kennel. I think he was incredibly spooked at first. Notes from Dawn Otterson:  He doesn’t mind being rubbed on his back and sides or even his head and neck but no picking him up or putting a collar on. He is nervous for sure. Some things we are considering: we are not convinced he is only 10 months old. I’m curious if the shelter has any other info about the previous owner or vet where he had shots. Also, he is not full blood Shepard. He appears to be mixed possibly with timber wolf or husky. His size says wolf mix. He has wolffish features and mannerism. So he went into the kennel in his new room pretty easily. We didn’t do anything else with him except the video. Before I go to bed i will walk him again but we will not allow him full run of the backyard until we are confident he is comfortable with us.  I think he is going to be a wonderful dog once he is acclimated and learns that humans are friends. show less

🎄🎄🎄🎄Dear Santa:   It’s me George.  I was once in a home, but my family just left me out on the streets in Houston, until these wonderful angels rescued me in May of 2020.  I have been in board and train for 6 months trying to be a better boy and I am really, really smart! I know all the basic commands really well!  I also love to “talk” and let you know my thoughts! My foster and rescue organization have given me great medical care.  I am neutered and heart worm negative.  I am approximately 4 years old and have so much spunk and love to give to my future adopter.  Since I was abandoned and had to fend for myself on the streets, I do not like being separated from my human companions and I try to show that I am Alpha, because I had to on the ruthless streets.  Santa, I guess what I am asking is for a human that “gets me” and is experienced in knowing how to keep me mindful.  I don’t mind other dogs the same size as me, but I do get really excited and don’t know my strength!  I am not comfortable with small people, small animals and strangers.  But if you are listening Santa, I know there is someone that would love me, has had German Shepherds like me, would invest in me and never leave me.  And oh, since I am so smart – I want to remind my soon future adopter: “ Remember no man is a failure that has friends” – It’s a Wonderful Life- Frank Capra’s film 1946.  I told you I am smart!   Please allow me to be your loyal, forever friend.  Love, George Here’s the link to apply for me:  https://www.sauverdeschiens.org/adopt George must have had a difficult life as he is a bit anxious.  He has begun to calm a bit since he was neutered. He will need an experienced GSD adopter as he gets a bit anxious when restrained with a leash at times.  He is a gorgeous boy and we hope to find him a loving home with a family of his own. We would recommend him as an only dog, no young children or cats. George is Heart Worm Negative, up to date on all vaccines, and Neutered. Laura - named after the 2020 Hurricane Laura that hit Louisiana.  She is from Louisiana...a little cajun.  Laura is about 2 years old, beautiful light colored German Shepherd Dog.  She is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed and is Heartworm Positive.  She is currently on the program to have Heart Worm Treatment end of December or early January.  Rescue covers expenses for that. She is a very sweet dog.  Easy going, good with other dogs, good with children, unsure of cats.  She would be good in a home with youngsters as well as a quiet home.   Due to her positive Heart Worm Status, she is available for Local Adoption only at this time.  Houston Metro show less

Millie was a stray picked up in Houston, TX and taken to Barc shelter.  We found her there, she was frightened and nippy.  The shelter is a horrible place for dogs, so cold and uninviting, loud noises and barking dogs. She is about 5 years old and has had time to decompress and is doing well.  She has an odd teeth chatter at times when nervous. She is meeting new dogs and people and adjusting.  She has been with us about a month now and has put on some weight and her foster Mom is working with her to overcome her social skills.  At this time we would recommend a home with no small children. She is current on all vaccines, has been spayed and is Heart Worm Positive.  She is on Doxycycline and scheduled to have Heart Worm treatment next month.  Due to the treatment we will need to find foster or foster to adopt in the Local Area of Houston Metro.   show less
