Hello,  My name is Agnes.  I am a beautiful woman that likes to play hard to get.  I don't just go with the first young thing to come along.  I am looking for a long lasting relationship with a couple that has patience and allows me the time to get to know them, and adjust to the new life.  Once I get to know you, I will love you forever. Agnes 😍 this girl is all things gorgeous and on the search for a forever home that will make her their own. She has wonderful house manners and knows how to keep her kennel tidy. She is very playful and affectionate and enjoys playing in the yard with toys. She needs a family that will allow her time to adjust slowly she has come leaps and bounds trusting humans through day to day interactions and would love a family able to continue showing her the way. We love Agnes and know you will too.  Agnes is best as an only dog or someone that has the paitence and experience to slowly intregrate.     Agnes is available for adoption through Sauver Des Chiens German Shepherd Dog Rescue.  Photos by the wonderfully talented Kelly Garvey Photography Trust, is what I lost when I was dumped and sent to a cold cruel shelter.  I had babies at the shelter and was so scared and alone.  That is when Sauver Des Chiens took me in.  All of my babies were adopted to good homes, but no one wanted me.  I had a little behavioral issue, being left behind.  Sauver Des Chiens sent me to work with Alex to help me overcome this.  I am much better now, but still take time to trust.  I need an adopter that understands that.  So if that is you, I can have my bags packed at the drop of a hat. Hey there! I’m Beaux Deaux - twice the fun! I am a little shorter than some of the other GSDs but I make up for it with playfulness. I am SO ready to bust out of boarding. A furever home would be great, but a foster home would be good as well. I am a little tentative around new dogs. I like to take it slow when meeting them. I need structure and routine. I am a quick study and once in your home if you show me the rules I promise to be a good boy! I have lots of love and kisses to give. Who doesn’t want that? You don’t even have to get me a Valentine. 🎄🎄🎄🎄Dear Santa:   It’s me George.  I was once in a home, but my family just left me out on the streets in Houston, until these wonderful angels rescued me in May of 2020.  I have been in board and train for 6 months trying to be a better boy and I am really, really smart! I know all the basic commands really well!  I also love to “talk” and let you know my thoughts! My foster and rescue organization have given me great medical care.  I am neutered and heart worm negative.  I am approximately 4 years old and have so much spunk and love to give to my future adopter.  Since I was abandoned and had to fend for myself on the streets, I do not like being separated from my human companions and I try to show that I am Alpha, because I had to on the ruthless streets.  Santa, I guess what I am asking is for a human that “gets me” and is experienced in knowing how to keep me mindful.  I don’t mind other dogs the same size as me, but I do get really excited and don’t know my strength!  I am not comfortable with small people, small animals and strangers.  But if you are listening Santa, I know there is someone that would love me, has had German Shepherds like me, would invest in me and never leave me.  And oh, since I am so smart – I want to remind my soon future adopter: “ Remember no man is a failure that has friends” – It’s a Wonderful Life- Frank Capra’s film 1946.  I told you I am smart!   Please allow me to be your loyal, forever friend.  Love, George Here’s the link to apply for me:  https://www.sauverdeschiens.org/adopt George must have had a difficult life as he is a bit anxious.  He has begun to calm a bit since he was neutered. He will need an experienced GSD adopter as he gets a bit anxious when restrained with a leash at times.  He is a gorgeous boy and we hope to find him a loving home with a family of his own. We would recommend him as an only dog, no young children or cats. George is Heart Worm Negative, up to date on all vaccines, and Neutered. Gypsy is a very sweet girl. Completely animal neutral. Appropriately dog interactive. House trained and crate trained . Beautiful girl. Her ideal home would be somebody that works from home and has time to spend with her. She takes a while to warmup to people and has more of a socially aloof attitude. But once she bonds she loves nothing better then to cuddle up next to you on the couch and watch tv with you. She walks nicely on a leash and has good house manners. She is neutral with children but if they are loud she will try to find a way to leave the immediate area. She will require some patience to get to know her and I am happy to offer help to acclimate her to a new home at no expense. show less

Hey there – Whatca doin? Wanna Play? I’m Ivy. I am just a baby still, and I love to play and run zoomies, and be petted – I love petting so much, I will drop and give you my belly to rub. They call me Ivy, but they also call me, a bundle of love and energy. I think it is a good thing. A little thing about me is that I have M.E. I don’t know the actual name of it, but basically, my food pipe doesn’t quite work right on its own, so I get my food chopped up in a blender, and a special upright chair to eat it. I rock it too! I have finally come to understand that when the blender starts, it means FOOD!! I now go to my chair, and will back into on my own; All you have to do is put the arm down and give me my chow. I even sit still for the 20 minutes after eating to let all the food settle in my tummy. I am finally starting to gain some weight! Thanks to all these people at SDC that take such good care of me. I would really love to find a forever family that wouldn’t mind blending up my food a few times a day. I promise to be patient as you learn how to mix it. In return I vow to shower you with kisses, cuddles and endless games of fetch and chase. I am loyal to death. Can YOU see past my M.E. and see how awesome I am? Hope to meet you soon…. Meet Kosmo: "My 'wish upon a star' wish~ Hello. My name is Kosmo. I'm a male, 2-3 yo GSD. I was found in a ditch by a wonderful lady, who took me in, and found SDC to help me. I will do best in a home that will continue my training, and stay consistent. I love learning, and especially those treats!! I'm dog selective, so a meet and greet will be perfect! A home without kitties and small dogs is best. I love kids, but older kids are best. I'm a very happy, enthusiastic boy, and walks are one of my favorites. My wish, is to find my furever home and family. I love giving and getting love. Please, wishing star, let my wish come true...." Kosmo had little to no training in life until he was in a rescue and his foster has worked very hard to help him become a better dog to live indoors. He's also become a happy boy from the shy skinny boy he started out as. He's not aggressive with children but like dogs of his breed is very mouthy when he plays and plays fairly rough so he is likely way too much dog for small children. The same can be said about small animals. He needs an owner that knows how to train a large breed dog. He's a very smart boy. He even learned to open a door. Look at his gorgeous guy. Truly a beauty! Laura - named after the 2020 Hurricane Laura that hit Louisiana.  She is from Louisiana...a little cajun.  Laura is about 2 years old, beautiful light colored German Shepherd Dog.  She is up to date on vaccines, has been spayed and is Heartworm Positive.  She is currently on the program to have Heart Worm Treatment end of December or early January.  Rescue covers expenses for that. She is a very sweet dog.  Easy going, good with other dogs, good with children, unsure of cats.  She would be good in a home with youngsters as well as a quiet home.   Due to her positive Heart Worm Status, she is available for Local Adoption only at this time.  Houston Metro show less

Millie was a stray picked up in Houston, TX and taken to Barc shelter.  We found her there, she was frightened and nippy.  The shelter is a horrible place for dogs, so cold and uninviting, loud noises and barking dogs. She is about 5 years old and has had time to decompress and is doing well.  She has an odd teeth chatter at times when nervous. She is meeting new dogs and people and adjusting.  She has been with us about a month now and has put on some weight and her foster Mom is working with her to overcome her social skills.  At this time we would recommend a home with no small children. She is current on all vaccines, has been spayed and is Heart Worm Positive.  She is on Doxycycline and scheduled to have Heart Worm treatment next month.  Due to the treatment we will need to find foster or foster to adopt in the Local Area of Houston Metro.   show less
