Albert - approx 14 months old, neutered male, black/white tuxedo with tall boots and a unique, lopsided moustache! Albert was picked up at a feral colony, injured, and had obviously been a house cat because he was immediately super loving and cuddly. We don't know why he was allowed to roam because he has no bad habits, none, no spraying, perfect litter box use, loves to snuggle, gentle during play. He is fine with the resident dogs. Albert's desire for maximum human lap time, as well as perhaps being bullied when he was living rough, has resulted in some squabbles with the resident cats. *no apartments*   Bishop is a great size dog. His mix is a bit of a mystery. Bishop is roughly 7 years old and from our best guess is a Beagle, Terrier mix weighing about 35 lbs. Pictures of him are deceiving because he looks much bigger but he is a pretty petite dog. He is microchipped, fixed and fully house trained. Bishop ideally needs a home where he’s: • The only dog, or with smaller dogs, preferably. He loved our Pomeranian but was sometimes scared of groups of larger dogs or in-your-face dogs. He has done well with larger dogs in our home (never on leash) but was never a fan of dog parks.  • A home without cats. Cats, squirrels and rabbits are practically all the same in his eye and will be chased. • A home without small children. He’s perfectly accepting of older children, adults, groups and every stranger [ not a great security dog ] He finds children very scary and did bite the toddler in his home after being chased- ultimately leading to his rehoming.  • Able to be active but also lounge around to his heart’s content. He gets spurts of energy but is a very chill, old soul. • Accepted as either big spoon or little spoon because he’s a professional cuddler.  • A home with a great cook because he hates the sound of the fire alarm and one where pillows are abundant because he takes comfort pretty seriously. Bishop loves a good nap on furniture but he also knows ‘no.’ He is allowed on some of our furniture and not others and fully abides, he hates his kennel but can be trusted when away from home (never chews, scratches, barks or counter hops).  You can also look at our old Instagram account @sabestagrams for more insight into this quirky, loving dog who is sure to win over someone’s heart as he did ours. Bishop just wants to love and be loved back show less

Haiku is a seven-month-old domestic shorthair. He was trapped with his siblings in a trailer park in Lafayette. They suffered from a terrible case of herpes virus. Their eyes were severely infected. It left their eyes very scarred. Haiku did have surgery on his eyes to remove some scar tissue and he has since gotten improvement in his vision. He can see, but he will probably be shy while he adjusts to a new home. He has been with his siblings in his foster home since he was five weeks old. He gets along with dogs, he is used to older children. He would enjoy a quiet home. He is neutered, microchipped, Felv fiv negative, and up-to-date on vaccines. show less

Hamilton oh Hamilton. His persistence for pets is just the best. He is so loving. He makes biscuits all the time. He's the tiniest thing and unfortunately had to be shaved due to confinement and lots of diarrhea. After testing and medications, we believe Hamilton has IBS and will require a raw diet for life.  He doesn't seem to mind the presence of other cats, so he may coexist in a home with other feline occupants.  He is neutered, microchipped, felv fiv negative and up to date on vaccines.  show less

Meet Hank!  He’s a happy 9 year old heeler. He is very overweight, but his bloodwork came back great. So he’s started a diet 😆 He was almost 40 pounds overweight so you can imagine how his joints feel. Joshua was surrendered to animal control in Texas after being dropped on his head as a baby. It has left lasting, but mild, neurological effects. He was checked out be a neurologist in Colorado. His coordination while pouncing is a little off causing him to miss his target and his head shakes when he's eating or using the litter box. Luke is a loving, happy, and playful 1 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd/Lab mix boy. He came to us after his owners could no longer keep him. He is not good with cats. He can fight over food or treats sometimes so we are looking for a home with no other dogs, cats, or animals. He could play all day long if you are open to it. He loves to zoomy around the backyard, so a secure fenced in yard will be a must in his new home. He can also jump a fence shorter than 6ft. He likes to play fetch and swim.  Grinch now known as Luke entered a board and train in July 2020 for aggressive leash reactivity and high prey drive. He is eager to please and smart, so the right training investment will be worth it! The adopter will be responsible to continue training after adoption.  Grinch/Luke will need a home who understand his needs. He will need an adopter that is aware that Grinch/Luke is a dog that will need patience and understanding. He will have to wear a muzzle on walks to protect the adopter as well as other people and pets.  We understand this is a very had bio to fit. This handsome lug is a 4 year old pointer mix named Marshall. He is good with other dogs, cats. He was abused in his prior home. We believe the children in the home were not taught how to properly interact and respect a dog in the home. When Marshall arrived to us he had indicators that he was used to an unkind treatment. Marshall has been with us a month and has been a complete dream. He is well behaved and has had a wonderful temperament. He loves being around the other dogs. He is living with a 4 and 7 year old children who do know how to properly act with a dog. Marshall was brought to the vet for euthanasia after the child in the home jumped on him and Marshall reacted by biting his hand. The vet didn't believe he was a bad dog, but set up for failure many time, and reached out to us to take him. Even though he has been living with children fine currently, we cannot adopt him into a home with young children due to the circumstances.  Marshall also has food allergies that make his skin irritated and have hot spots. On the proper diet his skin has done well. There may be some maintenance with medicated baths here and there to help if he seems to need it. The adopter should be aware and willing to change his diet if he begins to have reactions and go to the vet for treatment if needed and life long medications if a diet cannot address the allergies in the future. I was a stray with my family, so I need a patient owner and a quiet home as I get used to being around people. It won't take long! I'm nervous at first, but I'm sweet and can learn, I'm just scared. Once I warm up to you I love to cuddle, purr, and play. I'm very creative with my play (I turned a wand toy into a jousting stick) and am a real problem solver - if a toy is stuck behind something I will try everything to get it free. I'll bring you my mouse so we can play my favorite game, fetch. I also love to watch YouTube for cats but I can't figure out where those birds go when the TV is off. I don't mind other cats. Maybe a confident cat can show me the ropes! I am 9 months old. I am neutered, felv fiv negative and vaccinated and microchipped.  show less
