This beauty is Barkley, and we are hoping that the perfect forever home is out there for this sweet girl. She is a special gal who has a few quirks, but let’s face it...don’t we all?! Barkley is 4 years old, and we are told is a lab/boxer mix, but it’s possible she may have some pit in her as well. She does well with all dogs that are around her size or larger. She hasn’t lived with cats, but she has been a little too interested in the cats she has come into contact with...so we are recommending a cat-free home. Barkley’s ideal home would be a calm household on a quiet street with minimal visitors and a fenced-in yard. She tends to get nervous when meeting new people, and her forever family will need to understand that she’ll need some time and a safe space (her crate) to allow her to warm up and be more comfortable. Once she is bonded with her people she also tends to be a bit protective of them, so may need to be crated if new people visit her home. Barkley’s foster mom says once she is comfortable with people, she is so very sweet, goofy, cuddly, and lovable! She loves bones, playing ball, and her stuffed toys. She is crate-trained, keeps a very clean kennel, and is fully house-trained. She also loves playing and snuggling with her 4-legged foster siblings, so Barkley would love another dog in her forever home to both learn from and bond with. She also loves going for walks, but does need consistency and continued training when on-leash as she does get stressed and vocal when meeting other dogs/people when leashed. Having some yummy treats along on her walks definitely helps! She will need an experienced owner with an abundance of patience and grace. We are also recommending no young children in the home (kids ages 15+ would be best). We know that her perfect home is out there...and we would appreciate you sharing her gorgeous face so that we can all help Barkley find her forever! ❤️ **If you have any questions about Barkley, please feel free to reach out to us! Her adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Biggie...💙 A big, beautiful boy with a big history. Biggie spent the first 10 months of his life in a shelter environment. He was adopted, returned 2 days later (due to no fault of his own), and scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, an amazing rescue partner stepped in and spared Biggie’s life. Fast-forward to today: Biggie is now between 3-4 years old. He is likely a boxer/Great Dane mix, and he weighs just under 100lbs. He is a complex boy who needs a very specific home, but we are confident we can find him the most perfect forever! In general, Biggie is apprehensive of all new people, but in particular of men and deep voices. He needs a home environment with minimal visitors. And when there are visitors, he needs his own space and a family who will follow a specific protocol for his needs as outlined by the awesome trainers who have been working with him. He also needs a 6ft(+) fenced-in yard. Biggie is not a dog that needs (or necessarily wants) to take walks; the commotion and stimulation of the encounters experienced on walks are stressful for him. He would also do best in a home with no young children and no cats/small animals. Biggie has lived successfully with other dogs, but the other dog(s) in the home should be quieter, to be a calming force for Biggie. Biggie has also started on some anxiety meds and they have helped him tremendously! He is much happier and more carefree. He truly is such a sweet, sweet boy who just needs to find his people/person. Once he is comfortable with you, he will love you like none other! Biggie knows basic commands, is potty-trained and crate-trained, and does do best crated when home alone due to experiencing some slight separation anxiety when his humans are away. His favorite activities include just hanging out with his people and especially snuggling. We would desperately love to get Biggie out of boarding and into a foster/adoptive home. Please share his handsome face far and wide!    If you are willing to foster Biggie, PLEASE reach out to us (via either private message or by submitting an application at https://newleashdogrescue.com)!   **Biggie’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Boop is looking for a very special foster home, better yet if that home was interested in adopting her if all goes well. Boop was rescued from a breeder is about 8 years old.  She is a Chinese Shar Pei.    She has never lived in a house, so a lot is fearful to her right now.   She is completely housebroke.   She walks pretty good on leash.   She is kennel trained.   She is slowly learning the comforts of home and will crawl up on the couch or relax in the dog bed on occasion.  But she does a lot of pacing.  She has been in a home for about 2 weeks now, and her pacing is getting less and less.   She just has no idea about any of the sights and sounds around her.   She likes kids, but kids 10+ are recommended because sudden movements scare her.   She doesn't mind getting petted, and seems to prefer her head being pet over her body (guessing someone reached their hand over a fence and petted her head her whole life, but not her body?) Boop does fine co-existing with dog 99% of the time, but then she gets anxious or something and has gone after the dogs she is living with a few times.   She does not seem to gain confidence from other dogs the way many under socialized dogs do—so we think she would be fine as an only dog.    She needs a home where she can be an only pet, and the foster will be kind and patient with her, but also gently push her limits.   The current foster family has been using some techniques that have definitely helped to allow her to be more comfortable around people, but she still has a long way to go.  If you are interested in fostering this sweetie—or possibly adopting her when she is good to go—please PM us. show less

Hi friends! It’s me, Bud. I know it might be kind of hard to believe...but I’m still in the market for a forever family! My New Leash sisters/previous housemates — Pippin, Robyn, and Zayda — have found their homes (and I’m soooo tail-waggin’ happy for them!), and my foster family tells me every single day that my people are out there, too. I just can’t wait until I get to meet them! I hear that “forever” is something that all of us pups dream about...so I promise to keep being super-duper patient until I’m able to find mine! First, let me tell you a little bit more about myself. I am 2 years old, a pretty average-sized boy at 50-55lbs, and am the handsomest shar pei mix with the most lovable little ears! My first home was in Texas; all of my 4-legged housemates (23 of us, to be exact) and I made our way to Wisconsin after our owner passed away. We were pretty sad and confused for a little while, but I can’t complain...life is pretty darn good up here (but what’s this winter thing that people keep talking about??)! My foster mama tells me all the time that I am just the best boy ever. I love my people friends, and love just lounging/hanging with them. Sometimes it takes me just a little bit of time to come out of my shell, but I promise that once I do, I’m not at all shy! I’m the happiest boy with a very gentle and sweet demeanor. Foster mom tells me that I’m super easy-going for a 2 year old. I’m not sure what that means...but I do know that some of my favorite things include napping (and cuddling!) on the couch, lounging on the deck/in the backyard while sunbathing, and occasionally chewing on a bone. I’m not big into those things called toys, but I do LOVE other doggie friends! It would be so much fun to have another 4-legged companion in my forever home! I love to romp, run, and play with other dogs if they’re into it, but will also respect dogs who simply want their space (like I said...I’m a chill dude!). I am kennel-trained, potty-trained, have mad skills using a doggy-door, and also love my walks and do well on-leash. I don’t really know what cats are, so if my potential family has them I would probably need to be cat-tested first. I have also met a few kids, and my foster family thinks I would do best with kids ages 10+. It’s not that I didn’t like the younger kids, but I was pretty confused (probably due to my lack of exposure) by the tiny humans crawling/running around. I think I would do best if any kids in the home were just a little bit older, so they could do things like walk me, feed me, play, and be respectful of when it’s my naptime...cuz after all, naps are the greatest! All in all, I am just the sweetest, happiest boy (be sure to check out the videos my foster mom took of me in the comments!), and would love nothing more than to find a family to call all mine! 💛 If you are interested in adopting me, please apply at https://newleashdogrescue.com (you can just notate my name on your application). I can’t wait to meet you!  **Bud’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Alright friends...this fun, adorable guy needs our help! Due to no fault of his own, Cheeto is back in boarding; we would love nothing more than to spring him from boarding into a foster and/or adoptive home. And not only does Cheeto have the absolute coolest name, he also has such a fun and spunky personality to match! He is a jack russell terrier who is between 1-2 years old, and weighs just under 20lbs. In typical jack russell fashion, Cheeto is an active boy. He will require an active home that will exercise him, supply him with an outlet for his energy, and keep him mentally stimulated. He would make an amazing running and/or hiking buddy, and would be an awesome candidate for classes/training such as agility. He is an extremely smart little dude who catches on to things very quickly! He is also potty-trained and crate-trained. Cheeto would love to have another dog in his forever home that he could run and wrestle with, which would also help keep him busy. He does great with other dogs; he loves going to daycare, where he has made tons of 4-legged friends! He does need to go to a home without cats (unless they are extremely dog-savvy) and other small animals. He also gets pretty nervous around young children, so will need a home with kids at least ages 10+. When it comes to finding his ideal family, Cheeto needs a strong human leader who will provide him with consistency and structure (and one familiar with jack russell tendencies would be even better). He is an affectionate boy, but is pretty independent and is not overly cuddly. He loves attention, but will typically seek it out on his own terms. He is such a fun guy with so much love to give, and he would love to soon find his forever partner in crime! 💙 If you are willing/able to foster Cheeto, please submit a general foster application at https://newleashdogrescue.com (or message us if you are already preapproved!).  **Cheeto’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Take a look at this happy hunk! We can’t hardly believe that Cooper hasn’t been scooped up yet, but some lucky person/family is definitely going to hit the jackpot with this boy! Cooper is an 8 year old boxer mix and we are not exaggerating in the slightest when we say that he is such a good boy! Cooper loves other dogs (both big and small, male and female), is super cat-friendly (and will even snuggle with the kitties who allow him to!), and absolutely adores his human friends. He has met several children and done very well, but he can sometimes be a bit anxious around young children/toddlers with their quick movements...so we would recommend a home with children who are old enough to understand that he’s not necessarily a young pup anymore and needs a bit of time/space to warm up. Cooper’s favorite activities include napping on the couch, cuddling the day away with his humans, and playing/exploring with his 4-legged foster siblings. He is also crate-trained and fully potty-trained. He would love nothing more than a forever family to provide him with endless snuggles, walks, attention, and the unconditional love he so deserves. Cooper does fall pretty hard for his people pretty quickly, so he does experience some separation anxiety when his humans aren’t around. He would really do best in a home where he would be able to be his person’s sidekick and not be left alone for longer periods of time. He is just searching for his perfect partner in crime...and we can’t wait to find that for him! He is such an incredibly happy and well-mannered boy, and we just can’t wait to see him flourish in his forever! 💙 If you are interested in adopting Cooper, please submit a general adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you are already preapproved!  **Cooper’s $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, rabies, distemper, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Is there anything better than an adorable pittie smile?! This sweet girl is Kora, and she is crossing her paws that you will 🍂fall🍂 for her precious new pics and apply to take her home forever! Kora is a 2 year old pittie mix who weighs in just around 50lbs. Up until a few months ago (when her life was spared by a good samaritan and one of our amazing fosters), Kora spent her entire life on a chain. But she has now discovered that life is good and meant to be enjoyed, and she is one of the most happy-go-lucky pups you will ever meet! Kora LOVES people, and she LOVES to play! She has loved every single person she has ever met, kids included (she hasn’t met super young children, but other than her tendency to be excitable we don’t anticipate an issue). She is the biggest snuggler ever and loves to be right next to (or on top of!) her humans when they’re hanging out. Being a couch potato is one of her favorite pastimes. When it comes to other doggie friends, Kora does tend to have a pretty rowdy play style. So if there is another dog in her forever home, he/she should probably match that play style; Kora can be pretty persistent when it comes to getting her wrestle-sessions in! She is food insecure (possibly due to a lack thereof when she was living on a chain), and will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the home. Due to her love for the game of chase, we are recommending a home without cats (or other small animals) for Kora. In addition to playing chase — with either human friends or other 4-legged friends — she loves tug of war, fetch, and any other games that anyone is willing to play! She is potty-trained, and sleeps in her kennel at nighttime. She is such a fun, sweet, happy girl...and she is now more than ready for a home of her own to settle into! 💛 If you are interested in adopting Kora, please submit a general adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com (or private message us if you are already preapproved!). **Kora’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, rabies, distemper, and microchip. show less

Look at this beauty! This sweetheart is Ruby, and she is a 2 year old lab/pittie mix who is in the market for a forever home of her own. Ruby weighs in just around 45lbs. She is an energetic gal who also really enjoys her snuggle time! She loves to play fetch, find sticks, and play with her toys. Ruby loves plush toys, but they typically only last a matter of seconds before they meet their fate! And although Ruby does require toys meant for tough chewers, she is also very good about not chewing on things [in the home] that she shouldn’t. She is crate-trained and fully potty-trained, and is also conditioned to ringing a bell when she needs to do her business (which may take a little bit of an adjustment period in a new home, of course). Ruby is currently being fostered with another pup, and she has absolutely loved having another 4-legged friend in the home to play with and sleep with/snuggle up to at nighttime. She has previously been to doggie daycare and is a wonderful participant; she gets along great with the other dogs! For the most part, Ruby avoids the resident cat in her foster home. Every once in awhile she does try to chase the kitty, so we think that Ruby would be ok with a dog-savvy cat in her forever home. When it comes to meeting new human friends, Ruby can either be super-duper excited or slightly shy...needing just a little bit of time to warm up. But regardless, she absolutely adores people and all of the love + spoils they give her! She tends to bond pretty quickly with her people, and can be slightly protective of her humans. We would recommend some additional training courses to help Ruby properly work through this behavior. She also has a skin allergy that causes her some itchiness; she takes a daily medication to help curb that. Ruby is truly a sweet, sweet girl. She will make the most perfect cuddle buddy, adventure partner, and forever BFF! 💜 If you are interested in adopting Ruby, please submit a general adoption application (and notate Ruby’s name) at https://newleashdogrescue.com.  **Ruby’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

Sweet, sweet Sammi. This beautiful girl is hoping to catch your eye and become yours forever! Sammi is a 10 month old shepherd (maybe even whippet!) mix who has come so incredibly far in her progress since joining us from Texas last month. When Sammi arrived she was very scared and shutdown, but with her foster family’s patience and love she has really started to show us the sweet and tender-hearted side of her we’ve come to love so much. Sammi weighs in at around 40-45lbs and we aren’t totally sure about her history, but she has several scars on her body (around her ankle/foot, and on her face) that tell some of her story. She is pretty timid in new situations, but is continuing to gain confidence in her foster home every single day. As you can see by the big smile on her face, Sammi LOVES walks! She loves exploring and walks well on a leash; she would definitely make someone an awesome running/hiking buddy. She has also come to learn all about the joys of enjoying cozy dog beds, snuggling on her foster’s bed, and lounging away on the couch. If there are visitors in the home, she does tend to watch and observe from the other room…but we are confident that given some more time she will feel comfortable enough to greet them. Sammi has also learned a lot about home life from being able to shadow her 4-legged foster siblings, so she would benefit greatly (and really enjoy!) having the company of another dog in her forever home. She also does just fine with cats, and usually tends to respectfully give the kitties their own space. Sammi is a bit shy when meeting new human friends, but once she knows you (and if you offer her some deliciously irresistible treats) she does just fine and warms up pretty quickly. She does take a little bit longer to warm up to men (something to note is that she is never mean, only timid), and does tend to do better meeting males if they are sitting down (while offering her treats, of course!). Once she is comfortable, she is just as sweet as can be! She loves to give kisses and curl up under your arms for pets. Sammi is crate-trained and potty-trained, isn’t a barker, and also seems to be totally unaffected by storms/thunder. She hasn’t quite figured out what toys are yet, but we are convinced that she will soon learn! She also seems to enjoy kids, but will also need a home with children who are old enough to understand her shyness and respect her boundaries (probably ages 10+). She truly is the sweetest girl ever, and wants nothing more than to be loved and give love in return. We are hoping to find her the most perfect match who will continue to help her prosper and grow! 💜   If you are interested in adopting Sammi, please fill out a general adoption application at https://newleashdogrescue.com/ (or message us if you are preapproved!).   **Sammi’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less

This handsome dude is Titus, and he is looking to bust out of boarding and into a foster/adoptive home of his own before the holidays! He is a 2 year old pittie mix who is still young and impressionable, and needs a person/family who will help him continue to build his confidence and learn how to simply “be a dog.” Titus has what we would call an immature play style, so he does need another dog in his foster/forever home who matches that play style and can help show Titus the ropes. He tends to view the world as big and scary, so he needs a calm home, a family that will help him maneuver new experiences at his own pace, and who will continue to work on his training with our amazing trainers at Fun Fur Pets. Titus has learned so much from the crew at FFP, and they have also been able to pinpoint the type of home environment that will best help Titus succeed and thrive. He needs a fenced-in yard (his safe space where he can run, roam, and play), and children in the home should be ages 16+. He is such a fun and playful boy who has so much love to give! He especially loves his 4-legged playmates, playing fetch, and with his toys. He is kennel-trained and potty-trained. He does need to go to a home without cats. More than anything, we would love to get Titus into a home (whether foster or adoptive) of his own, so if you can help this boy PLEASE reach out to us! 🧡  If you are interested in fostering/adopting Titus, please either private message us or (if not already completed) fill out a general application at https://newleashdogrescue.com.  **Titus’ $200 adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip. show less
