BenJen came to us being untrustworthy of being close to us, extremely hesitant of being in our home, and nervous about steps and hardwood floors. BenJen has grown significantly since that first day. BenJen is a grumbly old man that prefers to spend his day getting pets, snuggling with you on the couch, and sprawling out across the floor or his dog bed. BenJen is nervous on his feet, but has been able to master maneuvering up and down stairs, as well as our uncarpeted flooring. BenJen knows how to sit, stay, and will do anything for a treat so he's open to learning. It took time to gain his trust, so it's likely he take time to gain your trust too. He will need a home that is calm and willing to be patient and allow for BenJen to take his time to thrive in your home. Because of Benjen's uneasyness, we are seeing a home without kiddos. This big boy weighs in at 127lbs and although he has a low and loud bark, he is truly a sweet guy that just wants love and affection. If your home needs a snuggly, talkative, and big loving 3.5 year old boy-then BenJen is your guy. Benjen has some current health issues that we are working through. He is being treated for Lymes and is on ongoing allergy meds that we'll want to discuss. show less

Hey There! I’m Zoey! I’m a 6 year old Great Dane, and I LOVE food! I’m a love, who will follow you around, play tug at all available opportunity, and will nap nearby while you’re working from home, or sitting in your favorite chair. If you have a couch, I would LOVE to snuggle (did I mention I love food?)! I like other dogs, once I get to know them, and cats are just fine by me. My foster family has rats too! I’m curious about them, they kinda look like squirrels, but I generally don’t pay them any mind. My favorite time of day is food time. I would love to eat whatever you’re eating, but if you tell me “no”, that just means an opportunity to be a food ninja! I do like my food that is provided too! ESPECIALLY when my foster parents give me an egg with my dinner! I would enjoy a family with one or two other critters, but I also want your attention and love, and I’m not afraid to ask for it. All time is DOG TIME! I’ll share my toys sometimes, but generally like my personal space when it comes to other dogs. I like car rides, going for walks (and do okay on a leash) and know my basic commands. I sleep in my crate at night, but if you have room in your bed for a big snuggle buddy, I’m game. I’m looking forward to meeting you!     Zoey is currently waiting a TPLO surgery, and a mass removal if appropriate. We are looking for someone that will be able to care for her beyond her surgeries which shouldn't slow her down! She does have some resource guarding issues with food around other dogs and sometimes she doesn't like sharing her toys, but we'll talk more about this if you're interested in Zoey! show less
