Hey! It's me! Zuki! I am a beautiful, 2.5 year old shepherd mix from Mexico. I weigh 43 lbs and am a strong, lovely girl. Check out my pics... quite a beauty, right? I was found roaming the streets of Guadalajara. I was all alone and was malnourished, hungry, and very weak. My foster mama has done such amazing work with me and I have truly come out of my shell! I am a completely healthy gal now and boy am I ever happy. True to my Shepherd breed, I am intelligent, obedient, loyal, alert, and curious. I am looking for a love-filled, active home. I LOVE to play (with dogs or people!) and I even don't mind cats. I'd probably do just dandy in a home with a dog-savvy kitty. I’d probably love to have a household doggy friend in my forever home but if not, that’s OK too—just means I get the attention allll to myself! I LOVE going for walks and I get along with doggies of all sizes. I am a great companion (can you say belly rubs?!) and I will be a fantastic adventure buddy. I hear there are lots of hikes and fun adventure-like things to do in the Pacific North West and boy does that ever sound fantastic to me! I like to go on daily walks (although my leash manners could use a bit of work) and have a moderate energy level. I will most likely need a walk morning and evening plus either a jog or a trip to the dog park to be sufficiently tuckered out! I'm sure I'd love to cuddle up next to you and have a good snooze after that though. I am very affectionate with trustworthy humans. Think you have room in your loving, adventure-filled home for a fun gal like me? Pretty please say yes! I am spayed and vaccinated. My adoption fee of $750 includes my airfare to Canada, presuming I can be accompanied by a Flight Volunteer ----------------------------- TRAVEL INFO: Dogs from Mexico typically arrive within 6-8 weeks of being approved for adoption. Mexico dogs fly into SEATTLE (not Vancouver). This necessitates a USA/Canada border transfer. We have been using a trusted Pet Transport company to escort the dogs from Seattle to South Surrey. This is an additional charge of $225/dog. All options will be discussed with you by the Mexico Rescue Coordinator. PLEASE NOTE: There is no expectation for the adopter to pay any more than the adoption fee itself. We WILL get your dog to you eventually, we simply provide these as options in case an adopter wishes to receive their dog sooner than it would take to fly their dog to Vancouver with a flight volunteer (which could take 6+ months). ----------------------------- Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website.
