About Roo (Courtesy Post)

Adoption Fee: $30

Roo thinks he is a typical kitten.  He runs, wrestles, and chases toys.  However, his front limbs are deformed.  He thinks he can jump up and down things even though it ismuch harder for him so as a kitten he will have to be watched closely.  Eventually he will learn how to get around the house.  He has always been cared for and very loved, and now he needs a forever home.  He is very loving and gives great hugs.  Roo loves other cats.  A very cat-friendly small dog may be okay, but not one that would get too rough or chase him. He cannot get out of the way quickly and cannot defend himself. And truly he loves to be the center of attention. Roo is afraid of children.

Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that Roo is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions.

The suggested adoption donation for Roo is $30, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our animals in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Roo into your home, please begin by submitting the adoption application found on this page.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If you would like to learn more about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, or donate to our dogs, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com.  We invite you to visit our Facebook Page, and when you visit, please don't forget to Like our Facebook page so that you won’t miss any information about our dogs and events!

Abe and Teddy are a bonded pair of cats and they must be adopted together. Abe is 6 years-old, litter-box trained and does well with dogs and kids over the age of 6. Both Abe and Teddy are affectionate and like to cuddle up next to their humans. Abe is a bit shy at first, but once he warms up to you, he loves attention and can be chatty. Abe and Teddy will be adopted out with their favorite cat tower/tree. Have you ever wanted a cat that thinks he may actually be a dog? Well, then Abe may be the cat for you. Abe loves to go on adventures and spend time basking in the sun outdoors. Teddy prefers to watch from the window. There current caretakers feel the best place for Abe and Teddy would be on a farm, similar to their current living situation, where Abe can safely roam under the supervision of their new owners and a warm bed inside or on a lap to snuggle up to after his adventures. The suggested adoption donation for Abe and Teddy together is $60, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our animals in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Abe and Teddy into your home, please begin by submitting our adoption application.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. Hi I'm Ace! And BALL IS MY LIFE.. seriously I carry it around like a binky -- and I don't like to share my ball and my other toys. I come from a rough past, which has caused me to be  timid and fearful. I can come off as scary, but it's just my reaction to fear. Give it a few days, and I will be your BEST FRIEND. I LOVE to snuggle and think I'm a lap dog. My current owners say I have boundary issues because of how much I love to cuddle. I love being outside on walks and playing fetch. Sometimes bigger dogs scare me, but I get along great with smaller dogs and cats. My little brother Taco (Yorkie) is my best friend. I need a strong-willed human because I tend to be dominant but need someone to show me how to be a part of their pack. I can hold it all day long! My owner lets me roam the house while he's at work and I NEVER have accidents; however, if I get bored, I may get into trouble. If you can be patient with me and love me at times when I react when my anxiety emerges, I promise I am the most loyal dog you'll ever meet. Apartment life isn't for me because I love to bark.  My perfect home will be a calm one with no young children but if they have kind, older kids age 10+, I might like to play fetch with them.  I dream of  having a back yard with lots of room to run and play fetch.  Having a small dog or cat for company will help keep me content when I have to be home alone. PLEASE NOTE:  BEFORE ADOPTION, APPLICANT MUST FOSTER DOG, MEET WITH TERRI LARSON, AND AGREE TO OUR FREE TRAINING. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions. The suggested adoption donation for Ace is $350.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. Alexios, born March 2020, has an independent nature.  He loves to be loved on, but he prefers to choose when. He is very playful and will chase any toy presented to him, and he loves to sit in the window and watch the world go by.   Their perfect home will have no young children, and they will do best as only pets. Kassandra and her brother Alexios must be adopted together.  Their mom was a feral cat that had 6 kittens, but she left behind these two. They were taken in by a family who bottle fed them until they were able to eat on their own. Angel is a Labrador Retriever/Boxer mix, born February 2019.  She came to Muddy Paws with two of her puppies, Finley Rose and Huckleberry.  Angel knows some basic commands, is house-trained and kennel trained, but would also do well if left out in a smaller area when gone.  She loves to play with toys and balls and gets along with dogs.  She has not been with cats, but has a moderate prey drive, so they are not recommended. Proir foster had birds, which she does fine around if they are caged, but not out of cage.  Angel will need a 4ft. fenced yard or to be tethered/on a leash while outside. Angel has had a very hard life possibly involving abuse and neglect and would love a fresh start in a quieter home with patient adopters willing to help her become the best version of herself.  She can be VERY fearful of strangers until she gets to know them, which she warms up fairly quickly on her terms.  So you may need a couple visits with her to gain her trust, but once you've earned her trust she is very cuddly and affectionate.  Due to her being fearful, we recommend that there be no young children (over 10 years old) in her new home.  SHE ALSO PREFERS WOMEN and it may take men a couple visits to gain her trust.  Adopter will need to be open to working with one of our trainers free of charge. The suggested adoption donation for Angel is $300.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Look, I'm gonna cut to the chase here. I'm a big girl, I'm 6 years old, and I've got a little baggage... Hey, some people say that's what makes life interesting! I'm a 6-year old German Shepherd/Malinois mix and when I was a puppy I got adopted by a really fun family. I got all my puppy out, went through my teenage years, and then one day my family took me on a car ride but they forgot to take me home. What happened, you ask? Wouldn't I like to know! Well, as you might imagine, I'm feeling pretty confused, nervous, and my anxiety is not helping matters; some days I don't even recognize myself. Feeling this way means I don't always express my emotions in appropriate ways, right now, but that doesn't mean I don't have it in me to be a good, loving family member... Don't forget, I was a part of the family for many years! Something I've been thinking about while I'm waiting for my furever home is that people always talk about animals not understanding boundaries but you know what? Sometimes people don't either! I can tell you this much, I do. not. like. people getting up in my face and I don't like being startled awake when I'm in a deep sleep. Being caught off guard like that makes me feel like something is wrong and that I need to immediately protect myself. I have a foster home that is going to take care of me very soon and they say that I am a very friendly and sweet girl. I know that when it's finally time to go to my furever home I want to be the only pet, even though I like to make dog friends sometimes. Also, I definitely don't want to live with kids; been there, done that, baby! Eh, that's just too much hectic energy for my style and it makes me feel nervous. I like an adult home with a very calm, laid-back lifestyle that doesn't have a lot of commotion or people running in and out. I still have lots of playful energy though, so maybe playing ball or exploring in the backyard sounds good to you too? I'm excited to get to my foster home and I'll be sharing more information about myself as life settles down! The suggested adoption donation for Anika is $350. Oooh, I can't wait to tell you about me! My name is Anya. I am 6-months old and my new human mama says that I'm the very definition of young, wild, and free! People keep telling me that I'm such a good girl and that I have so much energy and, well, I think that's true. I love to play... I really love to play.. I could play all day! I use to live with a dog that was, like, as old as my grandpa and I don't think he had very much fun with me; he never wanted to hang out and do stuff! Who wants to sleep all day? Not me! Thank goodnesss my new house has other doggie friends and I think we are really hittin' it off; we do lots of stuff together like explore, sniff, and chase each other. It's so much fun to share toys and eat together... living with your besties is a dream come true! Also, I'm excited that my new foster home has little humans too... sometimes I get a little too up close and personal but it's just because they make me feel so happy. My new family is teaching me something called manners and I know I will do a good job because people say I'm a smart girl. Right now I am buzzing with energy but, here's the thing, I use to be in a kennel a lot. Now that I can jump, and run, and stretch as far and wide as I want I just need to soak it all in! My foster family is making sure I know how to go potty outside and they are helping me, oh, what's that word... oh, yeah... shine! I'm learning to shine! We will have updates about little Anya and her furever needs as she settles in to her new foster home! The suggested adoption donation for Anya is $400. Beau is a 6.5 year old Blue Tick Hound mix who has a little pistol for a fur sister. She makes life tough for no reason and Beau's ready for a change of scenery! This sweet boy enjoys watching nature play out in his backyard, thinking about simple house projects for the spring, and how much Sanka's left in the can. According to his current family, Beau is an easy-going, relaxed dog who's looking for a low-key human companion with lots of love to give. Due to some past experiences, Beau can be a little shy with men but earn his trust and he's all yours! Beau is friendly with everyone, including women and children. This sweet boy would enjoy a home where he can be your one and only, or Beau could also get on with another older, sweet-tempered dog. As a nature guy he gets excited about squirrels and likes to let you know when they're getting too close. He would enjoy a living situation where he can continue his love of wildlife viewing from the safety of a window or fenced in backyard. Beau has lived with a cat but doesn't show much interest... squirrels are better! This agreeable guy knows his manners and walks nicely on a leash, but as a fella who has lived most of his life outdoors he'll need some special attention with his bathroom skills, learning how to say, "hey, it's time!" Beau is a chill, relaxed, adult dog that's looking for a comfy, cozy place to call his own! *Please note: Beau and his sister, Maisy, both experience occasional seizures. It is believed that these seizures are an inherited/genetic condition.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that a dog is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home. Beauty is a gorgeous 8-year old sweetie who's looking to mend a broken heart after the passing of her owner. Beauty is very much accustomed to a slow-paced life with an older human companion. Beauty is litterbox trained, gets along with all people, and has a clean bill of health! Meet 2-year old Bella and her itty-bitty babies! This gentle, sweet, very pregnant Pit Bull Terrier was left high and dry in an overcrowded Oklahoma shelter. Sadly, with space always at a premium, Bella quickly found herself placed on the euthanasia list with no hope for the long happy life she'd always hoped to find. Thankfully, it didn't take long for this little mama to be tagged for rescue, and with the hope of a new future on the way relief must've gotten the best of her... Just hours before her scheduled departure Bella went into labor! On March 2, Bella delivered ELEVEN (!) adorable, healthy pups and soon she and her new little family were on their way to Omaha! This precious little family is now relaxed and warm in a foster home and getting the comfort, love, and support they need. Right now, Bella is still settling in and making sure her babies are healthy and strong; we'll continue to post updates about Bella and what she'll need in her furever home as we learn more over the next few weeks! *Please note: We are currently accepting applications for Bella but she will not be available for physical adoption until she is finished caring for her pups. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  show less
