Suspected Breed(s): Labrador mix

snuggler, friendly, and affectionate.
Observations with Dogs: Generally good with other dogs off leash but is working on meeting dogs on leash.
Observations with Cats: Willa Jean would be best in a home without cats.
Observations with Kids: Willa Jean is a very energetic and excitable dog. She would do best in a family with children over 11, or younger children who have experience living with dogs.
House Training Progress: No recent accidents
Crate Training Progress: Willa Jean does well in her crate!
Location: DC area foster
Rescued From: Bladen County, NC
Additional Information: Willa Jean is as fabulous as her namesake. She is a loving, playful girl who is eager to please. Her puppy personality is full of energy and excitement, and she would make a terrific companion for someone with an active lifestyle! With a little more leash training Willa Jean would make a great running partner as well. She LOVED to play with the resident dog in her former foster home, and she is also a big fan of toys. If properly exercised during the day, she makes a perfect snuggle partner at night and is more than happy to curl up quietly on the couch and watch movies. Willa Jean would be a great match for an adopter who will shower her with attention and ensure she has plenty of exercise.
Trainer notes: "Wow, do I like this dog and her communication skills. She is social and fun and would make an awesome flyball dog or nose work dog. No home with kids under 12 because she is very active and still jumps up on people, but I would not rule out a young couple who might have a kid in a few years. Possibly one other dog in home."

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
