Have you ever wondered what a cat crossed with a 90 year old man looks like? If so, you need to meet Hamilton in person. He is a beautiful black long-haired cat with clear Persian features minus the flat face. He weighs just over 5 pounds and has long beautiful fur and short cobbly legs like a persian. Due to a medical issue, he had to have the lower half of his body shaved but now he is all better but sporting a really odd hairstyle. He needs to remain on a special diet due to medical issues but he does great now and the diet is easy to follow.  Hamilton loves people, making biscuits, following you like glue, purring, cuddling and making you feel special. Yeah, he's basically not a cat. In fact, I would bet a nickel that you have never met a cat who loves affection as much as Hammy does. It is hard to imagine what Hamilton's life consisted of before he came into the rescue via Texas but he's definitely making up for lost time by taking in all the affection and love he possibly can get. Can you give him a forever home that filled with phyiscal affection?  He doesn't seem to mind the presence of other cats or dogs, so he may coexist in a home with other feline or canine occupants. He would be a great cat around children too.  He is neutered, microchipped, felv fiv negative and up to date on vaccines.  show less

This handsome lug is a 4 year old pointer mix named Marshall. He is good with other dogs, no cats. He was abused in his prior home. We believe the children in the home were not taught how to properly interact and respect a dog in the home. When Marshall arrived to us he had indicators that he was used to an unkind treatment. Marshall has been with us a month and has been a complete dream. He is well behaved and has had a wonderful temperament. He loves being around the other dogs. He is living with a 4 and 7 year old children who do know how to properly act with a dog. Marshall was brought to the vet for euthanasia after the child in the home jumped on him and Marshall reacted by biting his hand. The vet didn't believe he was a bad dog, but set up for failure many time, and reached out to us to take him. Even though he has been living with children fine currently, we cannot adopt him into a home with young children due to the circumstances.  Marshall also has food allergies that make his skin irritated and have hot spots. On the proper diet his skin has done well. There may be some maintenance with medicated baths here and there to help if he seems to need it. The adopter should be aware and willing to change his diet if he begins to have reactions and go to the vet for treatment if needed and life long medications if a diet cannot address the allergies in the future. A raw diet would be best for Marshall and turkey seems to be the protein he does well on. Marshall will also require a home with a yard.   Please apply at mgarcolorado.org to get started.  show less
