About Copeland (Has Application)

Adoption Fee: $450 for Adult Dogs and Puppies

Name: Copeland
Suspected Breed(s): Shepherd mix
Gender: Male
Age: 4 years old
Weight: 74 lbs
Personality: Quick learner, playful, funny, outgoing, affectionate, goofy, snuggler, eager to please
Observations with Dogs: Copeland gets along with most dogs. As with all dogs, a proper introduction (like parallel walks prior to an off-leash intro) is a great way to help with canine harmony! He would love a home with a large dog to play with in the yard.
Observations with Cats: Untested
Observations with Kids: Copeland doesn’t have a lot of experience with children, but he’s been excited to see the kids he's met and done well with them.
House Training Progress: No accidents
Crate Training Progress: Quiet in his crate
Location: Suburban Virginia
Rescued From: Roane County, WV
Additional Information: Copeland is a silly, fun, and loving dog. He is super playful and pounces on toys like a panther. This good dog is goofy, happy, and inquisitive, much like his pup look-alike, Scooby Doo. Do you see it? Because we sure Scooby Dooby Do in this good-looking guy! Copeland has had the great opportunity to be staying with a trainer, and she reports that he loves to learn! He knows "let's go," "sit," "go to mat," "trade," "go get it," and "come." Like most dogs, he'd love a person who wants to continue to use positive training to engage him. Getting treats for winning your approval and being a good boy is Copeland's favorite part of life!

Copeland is leash reactive (meaning he barks on leash) so isn’t a great fit for the city, but he would make a terrific companion for someone with a house and yard for him to play in. Copeland is very loyal and bonds deeply with his caregivers — it would be hard to find a more affectionate and trusting dog than Copeland to be your next furry friend. He also enjoys making other human and canine friends. His best friend is a large female Malinois, but he’s spent time around dogs large and small and might love a canine companion to romp with in his new home. Apply today to meet handsome Copeland!

Name: Muffin Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: Male Age: 8 weeks (as of 6/21) Weight: 2lbs Personality: Snuggler, Friendly, Playful, Energetic Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Good with other cats and plays Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Wythe County, VA Additional Information: Muffin is such a sweet boy, more like a glazed triple chocolate muffin with sparkly sugar than a wheat germ and oatnut muffin. He is friendly and playful and cute as a button, with beautiful markings. Muffin especially loves to play rough and tumble with his brother Taco, and he loves playing with toys. He laid claim to a little black mouse toy and was so excited about it that he growled at first when his siblings came over to play with it. But he quickly realized it would be more fun if they all played with it together. We could all learn a little from Muffin. He loves snuggling up with his sisters and brother and momma, but he is also content sleeping on his own. Do you have room in your home for some kitten joy? Apply today to take home a pair! Muffin has age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes a veterinary exam, deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles. ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. LOVES her sibling Biscuit! Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Wythe County, VA Additional Information: Gravy and Biscuit do everything together. They are two peas in a pod. Gravy believes the best napping place is right on top of her brother Biscuit. They both are extremely sweet and cuddly kittens who are happy to meet everyone who comes by and give them lots of pets and love. They play the most with each other, and then second toys, particularly springs and felt balls that they can chase after. They are also both lap cats! We often have both stacked, sleeping in our laps or at our feet at night. If you take a nap on the couch, they will definitely both visit you. Both kittens really like cuddles with their humans, and love hugs and being held. Gravy is the cuddliest with humans, if you hold her and pet her face, she’ll fall asleep in your arms. Gravy and Biscuit have made friends with our resident cat, and the three of them love to watch birds and chase each other around. If you're looking for adorable, loveable, energetic kittens fluff balls and great napping buddies, Gravy and Biscuit are definitely the two for you! ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Name: Hector  Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: male Age: 2 years Weight: 9lbs Personality: Friendly, Gentle, Submissive, Easygoing, Playful, Vocal Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Good with other cats and plays Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Roane County, WV Additional Information: Hector is a muscular, sleek haus panther. This little guy is a little timid at first but is super gentle and relaxed once he opens up. Hector likes to sit with you and follow you while you do stuff and loves it when you take the time to play with him. Hector gently says hi to you by slowly rubbing his face on your hand and he likes gentle pets and slow, relaxed movements from his people. He loves to hang, and he has shown no aggressive behavior near people or other cats. He'll let you give him belly rubs and will stretch out his paws and do some air kneading to tell you thank you. When people come over, Hector likes to sit on the couch with them. In his free time, he looks out the window, meows at you if you talk to him, and sleeps in stretched out positions. Hector is great with his foster's resident cat and would love to have a buddy in his forever home!  ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. As you can tell from his bow tie, he is quite the distinguished, well-behaved gentleman! Io has lots of opinions and he chatters throughout the day talking to himself, but is not overly loud. Jordan

Name: Jordan Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: male Age: 1 year Weight: 9lbs Personality: Affectionate, Friendly, Easygoing, Playful, Independent Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Good with other cats and plays Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Wythe County, VA Additional Information: Looking for a chill cat who doubles as a social butterfly? Then Jordan is your boy! Jordan is a lovebug who has so much affection in his heart to share. As soon as he meets a new person, he immediately wants to hang out and snuggle. He's fine with staying nearby if you're busy, but prepare to make it up to him later by offering your lap and some ear and chin scratches! With his ability to diffuse a tense situation, Jordan is an incredibly skilled mediator/negotiator! Although his younger foster brother expressed fear upon meeting him, Jordan took the hisses and paw-batting in stride. Instead of fighting back, he would rather be patient and use his words (meows) to talk (meow) the individual down. Jordan enjoys pouncing on toy mice and other little objects at the end of a string. Tossing a wad of paper for him to chase up and down the hallways is another favorite game of his! However, he doesn't require a lot of entertainment and is content with observing his home and beloved companions from a windowsill, dining room table, bed, or other area where he can spread out comfortably. Make sure to keep some boxes around, too—like most cats, he has the urge to squeeze himself into one. Jordan has a brother, Bailey, who he has a great relationship with. If you're up for bringing two sweet kitties into your home, consider using this opportunity to adopt these amazing boys together! ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
