About Roxy aka Zoey (Has Application)

Adoption Fee: $425 for Adult Dogs and Puppies

Check out Roxy's Instagram @RoxyLotsofLove!

Name: Roxy
Suspected Breed(s): Weimaraner mix
Age: 2 years old
Weight: 52 lbs
Personality: Snuggler, gentle, good running partner, smart, funny, loyal, trainable, affectionate, playful, goofy, friendly, quick learner, eager to please, and protective.
Observations with Dogs: Does well with other dogs, very playful. Enjoys the dog park and day care. Gets along great and walks well with her foster siblings, but gets overly excited and needs to learn how to meet new dogs while on leash. She can also be a little bossy, so would likely not be a good fit in a home with a dominant dog.
Observations with Cats: Would be best in a home without cats
Observations with Kids: Roxy needs slow introductions to children, as they frighten her initially and she'll bark at them. Once she gets to know them she is very snuggly and loving. Roxy would do best in a home without children under age 12.
House Training Progress: No recent accidents
Crate Training Progress: Does fine in the crate for a couple hours. However, she doesn't really like the crate and is very well behaved, so she is trusted by her fosters to roam freely during the day.
Location: DC metro area
Rescued From: Galax, VA
Additional Information:  Roxy is a sweet, affectionate, gal. She loves to run and play, but she is also good at just relaxing and hanging out. She adores playing with her toys, fetching balls, and playing tug of war with her humans or canine siblings. Roxy also loves to snuggle on the couch with her people. Whether she’s snuggling up to her favorite person or playing with her fellow pups, this cutie has a great time. Roxy gets a little nervous meeting new people. Her excitement can sometimes be a little noisy at first, but she settles quickly and then wants to be best friends. She’s incredibly smart, trainable, and responsive to her name and correction, and she already knows words like “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” “look,” "leave it", "find it", "drop it", "hug", "place", "down", "off", "crate", "touch" and “come.” Roxy finds the whole world extremely exciting and tends to get overwhelmed and reactive to a lot of stimulation. She’d do best in a quieter suburban area where there is less action and her own yard (apartment living would not be a good fit for Roxy). Apply today to meet Roxy!

Name: Angelica Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: female Age: 8 years Weight: 9 lbs Personality: Snuggler, Affectionate, Friendly, Adventurous, Curious, Playful, Energetic, Dominant, Smart Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Dominant in play with other cats, so likely best as a solo cat or with younger cats where she can be in charge of the playing Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From:  Additional Information: Angelica is a wonderful adult tabby, with magnificent markings, and a classic tabby temperament: friendly, loves lots of pets & snuggles, and she'll sleep on your chest and put her paws around your neck in a hug. She's also very curious, energetic, playful, and has tons of personality - even her facial expressions are fascinating. Angelica is perfect for a house where she is either the only cat, or where she can be the alpha cat with younger pets. Angelica isn't like *mean* alpha, but a play alpha. She's been in a house with an older cat who doesn't play back and seems a bit let down by that, so she might do good with a younger cat she can play with. Angelica is shy at first, but don't let that fool you - she's very much her own cat, but always quick to let you know her love is unconditional. Name: Bailey Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: male Age: 1 year Weight: 9lbs Personality: Affectionate, Quiet, Gentle, Friendly, Curious Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Good with other cats and ignores Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Wythe County, VA Additional Information: Bailey is a beautiful and regal cat who carries himself with a sphinx-like calm air. He is very affectionate and loves attention but is also happy to hang out by himself and does not need to be with you constantly. Bailey is not a cat to demand your constant attention, rather he is that true friend who stays by your side through thick and thin. He is a little shy of loud noises and has displayed an amazing ability to squeeze himself into tiny, safe spaces. Don't worry, when you call him he will pull himself back out ready for some love and attention. Bailey loves the sound of running water and will come running when he hears any! He'll then demand fresh cold water in his bowl and then lap contentedly. In his free time, Bailey loves to look out the window at the city life going by. When he's had an eyeful, he'll find a nice quiet spot to take a nap in the sunshine, or crawl back underneath the dresser for a nap where he won't be disturbed. Are you looking for a good buddy like Bailey? Apply today! ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Kolsch is a bright, clear, lightly-hopped ale...er, cute, sweet, playful kitten looking for a special home where she can come out of her shell. Right now Kolsch is a little skittish, but who can blame her? She came from a hoader situation, in a house with dozens of cats. She is playful with her siblings, but she is still shy with humans. We're pretty sure that Kolsch will blossom in a forever home where she's given a little time to acclimate and realize that this life with humans thing is pretty darn great. Are you the human for Kolsch? Apply today! The kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes a veterinary exam, deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles. Name: Sam Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: Male Age: 8 years Weight: 7lbs Personality: Affectionate, Gentle, Easygoing, Adventurous, Playful, Vocal Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Bonded to Tigerlily; good with other cats after proper introduction Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Smyth County, VA Additional Information: Sam is a handsome middle-aged cat who is bonded with his senior feline friend, Tigerlily. He's a playful guy, but he doesn't require much structured playtime every day. One of his favorite activities is play-fighting with Tigerlily, which helps keep both of them in tip-top shape. Sam is known to be an "aggressive snuggler," so get ready to love and be loved when this dude says it's time to cuddle. A person once remarked that he "probably was a bird in his previous life," so he's likely the closest you'll get to having a griffin in your home! Sam and Tigerlily absolutely adore catnip toys, so be sure to stock up on those. Both are cat-friendly with proper introductions, so don't be shy if you plan to have them meet other cats! ________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
