THESAURUS NEEDED TO PROPERLY DESCRIBE HIS BEAUTY, look at that coloring . It's hard to miss this handsome boy. His uniquely colored coat, sparkling eyes, wagging tail and overall aura of friendship and good will to all draws attention to him. He's been well taken care of, his coat is clean and groomed, his weight is perfect for his size, and while he could use some training, he does know several commands. I present to you, MERLE, our 2021 BAP (Big ass Puppy). Merle an almost 10 month old Australian Shepherd, Lab, Catahoula mix puppy that we rescued in December. He arrived at Dallas Animal services as a stray with a leg injury, the shelter referred to him as "The Gentleman Puppy". Merle scored an amazing foster family in Texas who supervised his medical care and much needed crate rest so that his leg would heal. This was a big ask for a 75 pound BAP, but he and his foster family managed to pull it off. Merle is happy when he gets a chance to be out to go potty showing off his house training skills per his former foster. Appropriately energetic, playful and affectionate for his age, Merle smartly shows his 'sit' and his 'down', often skipping the sit part and going straight into a down. Too cute! He looks up with a sly grin, wagging his tail and waiting for his treat which he, of course, gets. Merle is looking for a home in which his training will continue with positive reinforcement, and get plenty of exercise and love. He's well on his way to being an awesome adult dog and needs you to complete the process, he's just a puppy, a BAP. Ready for love, Merle is hoping you'll fill out an adoption or foster application for him at nycsecondchancerescue.org All dogs will be altered, microchipped, and receive age-appropriate vaccines prior to adoption.
