💃🏻Ariel is a new intake and she is FLOURISHING in her new foster home! Ariel was rescued from a very unfortunate situation with her buddy Ren and their 4️⃣ puppies (aka the Breakfast Club pups). They have both been in their foster home for about a week and are thoroughly enjoying the inside life! 🐾   ✨From her fosters: “Ariel is feisty, courageous, very puppy-like and very smart. She learned how to open up our back door latch the first day she was with us!” She is curious and likes to explore the house but never strays far from her humans, especially her foster dad. She is playful and initiates most of the play with Ren. She is working on being house trained and crate trained too! 🐾   💃🏻Ariel will do well with a playful, male dog in the home with her. She will need basic training and lots of exercise to ensure she doesn’t get herself into trouble. She is loving and will probably be a velcro Dogo, judging from the past week! 🥰 She needs to gain about 10-20 pounds but is healthy otherwise. She will need strict boundaries to ensure she stays safe. 🐾   💃🏻Ariel is currently in Texas. We are willing to transport within reason. We are so grateful she and her partner Ren and her puppies were given a second shot at life. They are all wonderful dogs and will be fantastic additions to their new families! What to say about Bender except that he is pure puppy PERFECTION!  Bender had a hard start to life. He was rescued as part of a severe neglect case with his three siblings and mom and dad. He weighed 30# on rescue. However, life has sure turned around for sweet Bender since then! He has put on weight (now almost 60#!) and is an all around healthy dog. While his did turn one year old in October, he seems to act about 9 months old. He has a lot of puppy energy! If you haven't noticed in his pictures, Bender has the BEST side eye in the Dogo game. While he does look like he is constantly judging you, he really just wants to play or snuggle depending on the time of day. He loves to go for runs and long walks and especially loves doing zoomies with his foster sister Cambria. We believe Bender will do best with an older female doggy sister to help his build his confidence and show him what being a dog is all about.  Bender is just an all around good boy and we are shocked he hasn't been adopted yet! We would love to see a happy ever after by reuniting them. We can only do this if we could find a foster to keep Besito safe for the next year or so, or even 6 months. Blade is currently getting all kinds of love and hugs in Tampa, FL. He's probably about 2 years old and a total lover boy who really enjoys being around his people. He is extremely friendly to everyone he meets and we haven't seen him react to any of the dogs. We will introduce him to dog soon and expect him to do well. Blade likes to just get as much attention from us as he can. He loves to give really tight waist hugs and wants to give you kisses all the time, he is unbelievably affectionate. If you don't like kisses and hugs and this is not the dog for you! We've only had him a short while and still learning a lot about his characteristics. He was very frail and malnourished but now gaining weight. He doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence but we see him gaining that each day. When he goes out he definitely prefers to be around his people versus independent time alone so a home that has a lot of attention to give would be perfect. He is a bit timid and shy in between being affectionate and just doesn't want to disappoint you. Did we say he's perfect? Well let's repeat that one more time, this dog is perfect! Blade was picked up in Naples along with five other Dogos in the area. We believe it was probably some sort of breeder dump. Sad to hear but we are glad that he's now in the DC Dogos family and will never experience that again.  show less

💙WELCOME BRUNO 💙 Bruno was rescued from West LA Shelter in Los Angeles CA with his mama Lola (we suspect!). They shared a kennel for 8 long months, cuddled on a cold concrete floor waiting for help 😢 Thank goodness for our AMAZING foster, who took them both in and has helped them remember what it's like to be dogs again! They are living the PNW dream!🌦️ 🧢After decompression and evaluation, we feel the best thing for Bruno and Lola is to adopt them separately. They have been successfully separated and are enjoying one on one human time! 🧢 🔵 Bruno is a stoic boy at about 2️⃣(ish) years old. He is still gaining confidence and understanding of what life outside of bars looks like! He is loving and silly! 🚙Bruno's FAVORITE activity is riding in a side by side with his foster dad🚙. He'll jump right in and enjoy the ride! He has been working on his basic commands, leash walking and also loves hiking! He is an absolutely GORGEOUS boy that has waited for his forever him for long enough!! Bruno would do best in a home WITHOUT other dogs, with a human that loves to exercise and understands and has patience for him. And owner MUST have an off roading vehicle!!! Kidding, but that would be a major plus! 🍃 🌀This sweet boy will require ongoing training and understanding that he does not do great with other dogs. He does have some leash reactivity to dogs that his foster is working on. He has been around farm animals and enjoys being outside. He is devoted and loyal and loves his humans. 🤟🏽Please consider adopting Bruno and giving him the life he has always dreamed of! 🚗 Bruno will be your shotgun rider for life!🚙 show less

Bruno was rescued with his other half Coco hours before they were set to be euthanized at a rural shelter in San Antonio Texas. It was assumed it would be a hospice case as both dogs seemed to decline quickly, especailly Coco. After days and nights of nursing both back to health, their amazing foster finally brought these two amazing Dogos back to health. They love playing around in the yard, going for walks and taking naps in the sun. They are tightly bonded and will only be adopted together.  They do well with people and other dogs, with slow intros. They need a family to love them through their golden years! Hi, my name is Claire! I am the teeny, tiniest Dogo you will ever see! I was rescued with my three siblings and parents from a severe neglect situation. I was just 23#! But don't worry, I'm happy and loved now in my foster home! I love to play with my Dobie foster sister and jump off things, just to keep my foster mom on her toes! I am a happy go-lucky puppy that loves to play and zoomie but also snuggle in a warm blanket or nap in the sun! I turned one year old in October but act and look much younger, probably because I was not given proper nutrition as a puppy.  I have seen a specialist veternarian called a Cardiologist and have had many tests. The doctors tell me I have a congenital heart defect that will need to be corrected. I know my foster mom and the DC Dogos team are working hard to get me into the appropriate interventionalist to help with this. Because of this heart defect, I likely will never grow as big as my brothers and sisters or other Dogos. I will also likely be limited to how much hard exercise I get a day, just to make sure my heart can keep up!  I am now 30# and sure am happy. I will not be up for adoption until my treatment plan is in place. I love my foster mama and she loves me so it's all good! Please keep checking in on my progress. I might be the world's first pocket Dogo!  show less

🎩Clyde🎩   🚓This handsome boy was dumped with his girlfriend Bonnie at a strip mall in Texas several months ago. Thankfully, some Good Samaritans picked them up to keep them safe. Neither were chipped but obviously came from a home as they are sweet and friendly with people. 🐶🐶 Bonnie has found a family of her own and now Clyde is looking for his! 🏠   🎩Clyde is about 2-3 years old, neutered and up to date on shots. He’s very friendly, a little rambunctious and likes to zoom zoom. He will require an active home that will create boundaries. He does very well with female dogs after a slow intro and would do best with older kids, as he forgets his size sometimes. 💨   🐾Are you looking for a big friendly guy to run, hang out and cuddle with? Coco was rescued with her other half Bruno hours before they were set to be euthanized. Initially, we thought the pair would be a hospice case as Coco wouldn't eat and was declining quickly. Their amazing foster never left her side and nursed her back to health slowly but surely. Bruno never left Coco's side. After weeks of slow progress, Coco bounced back and is now a sweet loving girl. She loves walks and couch naps and most of all, loves being with Bruno. These two are a bonded pair and will only be adopted together. They need a loving home that will care for them for their golden years. We love our seniors and want to find a home that will appreciate and love them! They love people, have not been introduced to kids yet. They do well with other dogs with slow intros. They are calm and love naps! Located in Texas but will tranpsort for the right home.  show less

Our sweetest Mama Demi is ready for her forever home! She was rescued on her euthanasia date, just hours before her time was up, from Riverside shelter. She was brought in as a stray to the shelter still lactating, skinny, dirty and estimated to be a senior mama. Although we don't know what her life was like before DC Dogos, we are so thankful we get to help write her future!  Demi is currently being fostered in El Paso Texas. She is around other Dogos and does tend to be selective, so slow intros to other male dogs are a must. She is great with children and all people. She does still get the zoomies even though it is assumed she is around 7 years old. She is up to date on vaccines and spayed and ready to go to her new home!  We do think that Demi is deaf (or close to it). This should be a consideration for her new home but is definitely something that can be worked with! Demi really just wants a soft bed to sleep on and humans to call her own! She is availabe for adoption and can be transported! Please open your home to this sweet senior. Sometimes our seniors get forgotten when there are puppies available but you will not regret sharing this sweet mama's golden years!  show less

Sadly Ella and her "brother" Oscar are being returned to the rescue.  Their family had some changed and dad's work requires him to be away much more than he is home. We will get more info on Ella and Oscar to update soon! Mariana is a rockstar and says she is really likes this new life! She has a foster pittie brother she plays with at home. She is very chill and has great manners for a dog that came as a stray from a shelter! This sweetie loves attention from her humans and is very eager to please. She's learning how to just take it all in and enjoy being at her foster's home in south Florida. This fun girl needs a human that wants to help get her trained.  Mariana says she likes to learn sometimes but she also likes to play because she is still very puppy!  If you like to be loved and feel important then this girl will be sure to do that!!  We don't know much about Mariana's past but we did save her out of Miami Dade shelter and we are so happy to have her in the DC Dogos family! If you are interested in adopting this bundle of fun we will make sure to kickstart your training and help guide you so she becomes part of the family.  show less
