ALVINNN!! Hi, I'm Alvin! I'm a handsome 8 month Australian Shepherd/Border Collie Mix. I came in with my two other siblings and we were just not socialized properly as puppies. Due to that, I am a little bit more shy at first, but I do warm up with treats. The shelter is working on basic manners like leash walking and I do pretty good in my kennel overnight and with the right schedule and routine, I'm nearly potty-trained. I just need someone who is willing to put in a little extra time and effort with me and I promise I will be worth it! Unfortunetly, I have tested positive for Feline Leukemia. This means that I'll have to be the only cat in the home, or I can be in a home with another FeLV+ kitty! Why don't you hit me with your best shot? Hi, I'm Bestshot! Our momma Cat Benatar came to this shelter very pregnant and she ended up having us three boys! We have what is known as Cerebellar Hypoplasia aka Wobbly Cat Syndrome. This just means we walk a little wobbly, and do not have the ebst coordination, but not to worry we are not in any pain nor is it contagious to other cats! The only real requirement for our home is indoors only. Throughout our transition into a home, we might need more accomodations such as raised food/water bowls, larger/shallow litter boxes, non-slip traction mats around the house (if no carpet), and we will adapt to our disability over time! Say Cheese! We are one squeakin' cute group of pups! Hi, our mama is Mouse and we are the mice-dogs: Bianca, Jerry, Mickey, Minnie, Remy, Angelina, Jaq, and Brisby! We will be ready to go to our forever homes on 9/8/23, after our spay and neuter surgeries! We will have had our basic vaccinations, microchipping, deworming and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Want to catch one of us? You can complete the adoption application on this page: polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt and we can be pre-adopted before the 8 weeks! To apply to adopt a pet from Polk County Humane Society, please complete the adoption application on this page: polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You will also find a link to request an appointment on that same page. PCHS welcomes walk-ins, but many of our pets are in foster homes, so we recommend an appointment if you want to meet any particular pet(s). All of our pets are neutered/spayed, vaccinated (age appropriate) treated for fleas/ticks and dewormed.
