About Guinness

Adoption Fee: $200

He is a very sweet and playful pup. He is protective/guarding when initially meeting strangers but settles in quickly. He is a bit jumpy and will require ongoing training through his puppy years. Guinness can at times resource guard so will need his new family to be familiar with this trait and know how to handle it when it comes up.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Privacy Fence No young/small children Experienced Handler Ongoing Training and Socialization Guinness is a very loving, sweet guy once he gets to know you and trust you. He has some resource guarding issues so an experienced handler is what this guy is looking for. He LOVES to play all day with his canine siblings and doesnt bother with the cats.

Prince is around a 4-5 year old male chihuahua/boston terrier mix...you know, your typical chi on steroids kinda guy who weighs in at about 8 whole pounds. He was a tough guy with a big attitude at our county kennel so the wardens asked if we could help out with him. He didn't quite live up to his rough tough bark after all. He is a very sweet and scared kid who we don't feel was treated very fairly or nicely in his prior life. It appears he spent his life before living outdoors tethered and most likely used to breed. When we first got him, he still had fur missing around his neck from what looked to be an old embedded collar. He now wears a harness and walks pretty well on it. We can take it on and off with no issues. He is much better about being pet around his neck and down his back and you can also touch his tail. As I said, poor kid must have a had a pretty rough go of it in his prior life. Prince does OK with other animals his size, of course tells them that he's the boss when they meet from a 10 foot distance that is. He would probably not do well with a dominate dog I'm guessing just based on his fear levels and what we think he has been through. He would really prefer just an adult size human to hang with day and night, a lap to snuggle on and a hand to play fetch for hours on end. He LOVES to play fetch!!! We are working on his house training which he has come a long way. He will use pee pads and does go outside but he still has some more work to go. Prince will be fully vetted on Feb 3rd and then will be ready to head to his forever home that weekend if one has been found. Prince's adoption fee is $200. show less
