Meet Ruby:  Ruby is a beautiful four year old chocolate lab that weighs around 80 pounds. Ruby was rescued when she was being advertised on Neighborhood Watch as "free to a good home". Her owners said she was too active for them. Ruby is wonderful with other dogs, loves people and would make a great companion to any family. Ruby loves to play in the backyard and will need a fenced in yard. She would benefit from some training while walking on a leash, she can pull when she gets excited.  Ruby is house trained, up to date on her shots, spayed, and on monthly heartworm prevention. Meet Saul: Saul is about a year old (as of May 2023) chihuahua or rat terrier mix (best guess) that weighs about 14 pounds. Saul was found in East Memphis by a former vet tech and current owner of a dog boarding facility. Saul’s owner didn't respond to any of the lost dog postings and he was surrendered to us for rehoming. Saul is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Saul is very affectionate and a playful bundle of energy. He's a loyal lap baby and a constant bed buddy. In his first day at his foster home he was a bit grumpy with so many other dogs around. He was received by the other dogs with patience and after a couple of days, he got used to the situation and became one of the gang. We would encourage a slow introduction to other dogs in his new home and suggest smaller dogs to be his companion. Saul is house trained with a doggie door. We would love for Saul to have a home with a fenced in yard. Saul is up to date on his shots and neutered. Meet Sheena: Sheena is a 23 week old (as of October 13, 2023) terrier mix (best guess) that weighs about 35 pounds. Mama Cookie’s litter (Sheena, Benny, Harley and Theo) are survivors! Mama Cookie was a family pet until the family grew with a human baby and then she found herself as an outside dog. While living outside, Mama got pregnant and had a litter of 10 sweet babies that she carried off to a safe place to try to care for them.  When our rescue heard of the situation, we went to try to help and were only able to find 4 of her sweet pups. We are committed to this little family and want these survivors to find the best homes! Sheena is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. This litter is full of your typical happy, playful, curious, and oh so loving pups! Sheena is just like her mama - super sweet, loving, loves attention and affection! As a puppy, Sheena will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Sheena to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely! Meet Shelby! Shelby is a 2 year old (born around Oct 2021) Pit Bull Terrier mix that weighs around 50 pounds. Shelby was found in Grenada, Mississippi on the side of the road locked in a crate with an empty bowl and thankfully a volunteer with Charlie’s Crusaders was able to rescue her. Shelby is now being fostered near the Pottstown, PA area and is waiting for her forever home! Shelby loves her two furry brothers at her foster home and loves to play and run around with them. Shelby is good with other dogs. Shelby gets very excited to meet new people and takes a few minutes to settle down. Shelby also loves to cuddle and will make a great companion. Shelby is house trained, good in the car, and knows “sit,” “down,” “kennel,” and “come.” Shelby is working on her leash training and will do best in a home with older children because of how hard she likes to play. Shelby will need a home with a fenced in yard and adopters with dog experience. Shelby is up to date on her vaccinations and has been spayed. Sherman was found abandoned as a stray on the side of the road. “Meet Sissy: Sissy is a 1 year old (as of Nov 2023) pit mix (best guess) that weighs 35 pounds. Sissy, along with her siblings Graphite and Tanner, were brought to the rescue by someone who found them on the street near her home. Sissy is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Sissy is friendly and funny, but a bit more timid at first, especially around men, but warms up quickly. She has come so far since she first went into her foster home! Sissy plays well with kids, big and little dogs, and even does well with her foster family’s lizard! Sissy walks well on a leash, is house trained and dances for her food. Meet Skipper: Skipper is a 2 year old lab mix that weighs 65 pounds - he’s still growing. Skipper was at a local pound when he found himself on the euthanasia list. We are so glad that we were able to get him in time! Skipper is a high energy, super friendly guy that loves to play. Skipper likes dogs and would love a playmate in his new home to romp around with. He can play rough right now, so we wouldn’t recommend he be in a home with young children or small dogs, however he is submissive and not jumpy. Skipper is crate trained and seems to be house trained, however he currently spends the majority of his day playing outside. Skipper loves water and gets so excited if the hose is on! Skipper is up to date on his shots and is neutered. Meet Speckles: Speckles is about a 1 year old (as of March 2023) hound mix (best guess) that weighs 46 pounds. Speckles was found as a stray in Mississippi and taken to a dog groomer to help find a rescue. Speckles is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Speckles is very friendly and gets along well with other dogs, however he does like to chase horses. We are unsure of Speckles house training status, but will be assessing. Meet Sugar: Sugar is a 3 year old pit bull terrier mix that weighs 55 pounds. Sugar was at a local pound in Mississippi and found herself on the euthanasia list. We’re so glad we were able to get her into a foster home in time! Sugar is a sweetheart and loves to be near people! Sugar will be right up under you for attention if you are around. Sugar is very friendly with other dogs. She loves the company of her current foster dog brother and has been cautious of other dogs that have been introduced.  After a few minutes she warms up to play with them. Sugar is cat friendly, but we would suggest supervised cat exposure - she loves to chase them to play and we know not all cats would be happy about that. Sugar is house and crate trained. She happily chills in her crate and can entertain herself with toys. Sugar will need a home with a fenced in yard. Sugar is up to date on her shots and spayed. Sugar was initially heart worm positive, but completed her treatments on 11/21/22. Meet Sunshine: Sunshine is about a 3 year old (as of October 2023) hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 35 pounds. Sunshine was being kept in a small kennel behind a barn with no human or animal interactions. Sunshine escaped out of her kennel one day and headed to a nearby home. Once there, she decided it was way too great to leave.  Luckily the finder coordinated with the owner who was willing to give her up and we are now looking for a great forever home. Sunshine is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Sunshine is a friendly and loving girl. Sunshine is playful and has a lot of energy! Sunshine gets along with other dog friends. Sunshine will need some patience while working on her house training, having been an outdoor dog in the past. She seems eager to please her humans though, so training should come along nicely. Sunshine will need a home with a fence so she can play and run freely. Meet Thor: Thor is a 2 year old Great Dane/Husky mix that weighs 90 pounds. Thor was found running around Giles County, TN as a stray. Poor Thor was just skin and bones when he was found - we are glad to have him safe in our care. Thor loves people! He has energy and likes to play, but will settle down when it’s time for snuggles! He loves to go for walks. Thor gets along well with female dogs and some male dogs. Thor is house trained and currently uses a doggy door. Thor will need a home with a fenced in yard. Meet Tilly: Tilly is a sweet Hound/Pit mix that is around 2 years old and weighs around 45 lbs. This little momma was rescued from a shelter in Mississippi with her five babies days before they were to be euthanized. Tilly has been an awesome momma and helped make sure her pups stayed healthy and socialized. Tilly is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and is ready for her forever home! Tilly is an incredibly sweet dog and is very social and affectionate. Tilly thinks she's a lap dog and would love to snuggle with you. She spends time lounging on the couch and sitting close by her people. Tilly enjoys playing with other dogs her size or bigger outside in the yard. Tilly is not good with cats or small animals. She is not a barker, but she does have a funny habit of standing on outdoor patio furniture tables. She’s never done it inside, but she seems to enjoy the elevation. Tilly is house trained and walks well on a leash.Tilly is most interested in affection and attention. She’s content on her own as long as she has a comfy place to relax and lounge. She has not shown much interest in toys but does love treats.
