About Darla Jean

Meet Darla Jean (aka Baby Biscuit): Darla Jean is about a 10 week old (as of August, 29 2023) Jack Russell mix (best guess, she’s a little girl) that weighs about 10 pounds of precious. Darla Jean’s humans were having a hard time caring for themselves let alone this little girl. When the rescue learned about her, she had spent some time on her own in their residence. We scooped her up and get her fed and loved upon!  Darla Jean is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Darla Jean is the perfect little puppy! This baby biscuit happily sleeps all night in her crate with no accidents. Darla Jean is so relaxed! She loves dogs and doesn’t mind cats! Darla Jean doesn’t whine or cry and she loves attention. As a puppy, Darla Jean will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Darla Jean to have a home with a fence so she can play and run freely. Darla Jean is up to date on her puppy shots and will be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in adopting this adorable little one, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website ( to fill out an application.

Meet Banjo! Banjo is a 5 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 65 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings and he has the most expressive face. Banjo is a sweetheart and a fragile soul that likes to be told he is a good boy and he just wants to please. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and with an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is reactive to new situations and he is learning to come out of his shell and be more engaged in the world and not so selective and nervous around strangers. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, crawl, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is muzzle trained, house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo will not chew on bones or play with toys and his fosters are working on getting him to learn what toys are. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs when introduced slowly, he will play with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper iand slow introduction with an experinced dog owner. Banjo would prefer a home with no children and likes women more than men. Banjo requires a fenced in yard and an active adopter. If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please go to our website at and fill out our adoption application.  show less
