Howdy, I'm as sweet as chocolate and will be your best friend. Come on in and take a look at all of us candy pups. We are Veruca, Augustus and Willy Wonka. We love to play, run and of course eat. Won't you be my/our forever home? To apply to adopt a pet from Polk County Humane Society, please complete the adoption application on this page: polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You will also find a link to request an appointment on that same page. PCHS welcomes walk-ins, but many of our pets are in foster homes, so we recommend an appointment if you want to meet any particular pet(s). That gives us a chance to work with the foster to make sure the pet can be available to meet you. All of our pets are neutered/spayed, vaccinated (age appropriate) treated for fleas/ticks and dewormed. Our dogs and puppies are also microchipped and adult dogs are tested for heartworms and started on heartworm prevention. show less

Hello, my name is Vision and I'm a boy, my sisters name is Sight.  I am a brown/white tabby and my sister is orange and white.  We are both partially blind and I have seizures, which I hope this won't deter to you from coming in to see me and my sister.  We would really love to find our forever home with you.  We are good kitty's and am sure we would make an awesome companion for you.  I am on a 5 day hold until 11-15-2023, but will be avalable for adoption afterwards. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas at least monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). We are Santa's adorable 7 little reindeer pups! We are a Christmas mix of breeds! Our mama was an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie and our daddy was a Great Pyrenese/Black and Tan Coonhound.
