About Gunter

Is he a warthog? A gargoyle? A gremlin? No! It's a dog! A Bullsh*t (Bulldog x Shih Tzu) to be exact!

Meet Gunter! He is quite the quirky spectacle and has a personality to match.

This Gargoyle REQUIRES a live-in housemate in the form of a dog so that he can play with them. He would also prefer that the guardians of the home be women. He loves food. He doesn't understand personal space. He will only come inside on his own terms. He will need to drag a leash for at least the first few weeks in his new home until he gets settled in. He ate a comforter. He has the most adorable underbite. He likes to poop in front of the TV (this can be prevented by leash walks to insure he does his business outside). Gunter doesn't want to hang out with kids-they are too unpredictale. And cats? He will chase them. And he loves to chase some chickens, too.

He has a cherry eye that pops out sometimes, but his other eye already had one that we repaired recently. The cone of shame was so incredibly traumatizing for him, we decided he shouldn't go through all that again and should just try and find his forever people.

This dog is strange. He will always be strange. If you can welcome him in to your home and put up with his quirks, he will repay you in giggles and snuggles (remember the thing about not understanding personal space?). He will also help you by tiring out your dog by playing with them non-stop.

Gunter is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm negative and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. He is about 2 years old and weighs just under 30 pounds. His adoption fee is $300 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl.org

Hi everyone! My name is Baloo, and I am a 4-year-old German Shepherd Dog/Husky mix. I am looking for a family that would love me as much as I will love them! I was unfortunately in a car accident a few months ago that left me with some gait instability. At first, I was paralyzed in my hindlegs. But I underwent two spinal surgeries and after some long, hard recovery, I am now able to walk short distances! With some help with my balance, I can go even further! I was scared and confused during this time because I didn’t understand what happened to me, but I never stopped being the happy, loving boy I am! In fact, my new favorite activity quickly became sitting in the front yard so I could people-watch, since I couldn’t go on walks anymore. Not to toot my own horn, but I quickly became a neighborhood favorite!  The vets think my legs will continue to get stronger and I’ll be able to walk even longer distances independently with time and patience. My other challenge is occasional bladder and bowel incontinence. When the accident happened, at first, I lost complete control of both, and needed to be expressed. But I’ve been working hard and am mostly able to control it again myself.  I also wer a belly band very nicely.  But I do have accidents every now and then. I promise I don’t mean to! But I appreciate you being understanding about my recovery. When I pee, I need a little help from someone holding my waist as I walk around the backyard to relieve myself. When I poop, I usually need a sling under me for mild support. I hold most of my weight on my own, but I can’t squat completely independently just yet.  I would love to join a family where one or more people work from home/stay at home mostly. I love everyone I meet (dogs, cats and children!), but once I consider you my person, I become really attached and come to love my time with you. I do fine when left home alone. I wander the house and am smart enough to know not to go into rooms I am told not to be in, not to jump onto any furniture, and not to chew up any toys. But I prefer spending most of my time with my family if possible. And I enjoy that time even more if we spend it together outdoors. Right now, I like my weekly trips to grassy parks where I can move around with my current limited mobility, but I don’t hurt my paws because the grass is long and soft!!  Overall, I am a happy, sweet boy who loves my people and the outdoors. I am smart, adapt quickly, and learn new rules and routines well. If you don’t mind being patient with me, I promise to love you with all my heart and to bring lots of happiness to your life! Please give me a chance! Please contact my family today at 214-843-7838 to arrange to meet me.  You won't regret it! show less

Hey there! So you're looking for a pup?!  Well my name is Bear, and I am looking for a new home. I am a 2-year-old Black mouth Cur (I think), about 65 pounds, spayed, chipped and up to date on all my vaccines. Even though I am not allowed to walk without a leash yet, I do mostly well on a leash when I know where I am. Sometimes things distract me and I get excited, or even scared when I’m not familiar with the trail…hm, maybe that’s why I always need a leash. Either way, I love my daily 1.5 mile walks, and running around my ½ acre backyard; this really helps get my energy out. I don’t want to be picky, but I know a similar situation would be a must-have for a potential new family. Speaking of family, I was adopted when I was 5 months by a family with 2 young boys. I loved the big guy since the car ride home, but it took me a little longer to warm up to everyone else. I think I was really just nervous and scared being so young, because now I usually warm up to most people pretty fast. I play well with the boys, even though I can get a little too excited and have a tendency to knock into them or what they’re working on. I also like other dogs, but similarly, can be on the rougher side. I think it would be important that my new home does not have smaller children or dogs, but I would love another big dog to play with! I should confess that sometimes my love can require a lot more in return. I actually have separation anxiety when the big guy is away, and I can be a bit protective. I usually settle down when he leaves, or when I meet new people, but it can be a little hard for me at first. Really, I just need a lot of love and attention, with a bit of rough housing. Oh right, speaking of housing…I am quite proud of how well I learned to live in a house! Although I can make a mess tearing up my toys, I do not chew shoes or couches, and I always do my business outside! I also learned some basic commands (and a few not so basic) after we found the right training program for me. To be honest though, I may have forgotten a few. You see, I live in a more free roaming house, and the folks here are not really able to keep up with my training. I know in my heart that someone with good training experience, especially with ‘spirited’ pups like me, would be the best match.   Also, there is just a little bit of medical/dietary info you should know; a little while ago I started taking some joint health supplements after I was having some troubles walking. A surgeon had said that I don’t need surgery, but instead if I take these supplements for the rest of my life, I should be fine…so far so good! I also really like raw meats added to my kibble, especially ground turkey or salmon (I think the salmon really helps my joints, too!). I know this and the supplements are little more than most people are used to, but I would love it if you could afford me this…I really don’t require much more than that, not even treats all the time! Just one at bedtime! Well, I really hope you are considering bringing me into your family. Even though I love my current family, I think we are just at different stages in our lives that can make things difficult. Just to recap, I know it would be best if you could devote a decent amount of time and love to me, and use your training experience to keep me busy and on track. I look forward to seeing you in your big yard, and where we will always be walking! Please contact the big guy when you're ready to meet me, or have any questions. Meet Bonzai, a captivating canine companion—a delightful mix of cattle dog and boxer. This beautiful soul embodies a perfect blend of intelligence, affection and playfulness. With a heart full of love, Bonzai seamlessly integrates into a household, forming a strong bond with her human companions. Her sensitivity adds a touch of gentleness, making her an ideal companion for quiet moments and snuggles. This smart pup has a knack for games, especially a spirited round of fetch, showcasing her active and engaging nature. She effortlessly provides a protective presence at home. While initially reserved with strangers, Bonzai quickly warms up, revealing a friendly and welcoming demeanor. However, like any unique individual, she has her quirks. Leash reactivity and intrusiveness with other dogs have been areas of challenge.  However, she has never had a problem with the dog she lives with, a senior pug.  Bonzai's ideal home would be with experienced adults who understand the nuances of handling reactive behavior, seeking not just a pet but a devoted companion. This canine gem, named Bonzai, is ready to bring joy and companionship to a home that appreciates her distinctive charm. Contact Dave at 484-553-3683 or by email davidwmoller@gmail.com. show less

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! Buddy is a 4-year-old pit mix with a big heart in need of a loving home. He was found in our neighborhood and sent to animal control. We rescued him off the euthanasia list, and now Buddy is looking for a second chance. Based on his behavior and condition, we believe he's been living outside for some time but did have an owner and training at some point. He responds to basic commands (sit, lay down, off and stay) and puts himself to bed in his crate each night. He travels well in the car and rarely ever barks or whines (in the car or otherwise). He would be best with an owner who has rescue experience. He loves people (of all ages) and eats up all the attention he can get. He wants to be near you and will "boop" you with his nose until you rub his chest. Buddy seems to like other dogs that are his size, but he has not interacted with small dogs or cats under our watch.  He is unphased by horses and chickens. Buddy does not like his hind legs or hips touched and can be reactive if grabbed from underneath. He loves to be outside but cannot handle long walks and does not run. He appears to have pain in his hips/hind legs when walking. Ultimately, Buddy is in need of a forever home with patient and experienced owners. He is up to date on all vaccinations and is currently being treated for heartworms. He is a sweet boy who will love anyone who gives him a chance.  Contact me today at 443-974-8653 or hannah.presley.14@cnu.edu to learn more about sweet Buddy! show less

Meet Della, one of the goofiest kittens I've had the pleasure of fostering! She is an active, alert and spunky gal who is off chasing her own tail if she's not chasing one of her siblings or friends.  She has the funniest little crooked tail (which won't be a problem at all as she grows but is a hilarious and unique characteristic). Della loves to climb into your lap, and she can't ever get enough pets. She just needs some playful siblings to match her energy, and she'll fit right in!  She is currently hanging out at PetSmart with yet another new friend.  This time, Tagrid.  All her siblings were adopted weeks ago and her other friends have also been adopted.  She pairs so well with everyone and her foster mom quickly discovered that Della immediately liked her dog when she took her home.  We can't figure out why Della keeps being overlooked!  She is a real darling!!!!    Get $50 off the combined adoption fee when adopting a pair of kittens.  Meet Della and her new shy friend, Tagrid, at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvde, from 12-4pm, Saturday, during our weekly adoption event or apply to adopt to schedule a meet and greet outside those times.  All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on their vaccines, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, given a few rounds of dewormer and started on monthly flea preventative.   show less
