Hi! My name is Punky, I am a cute, friendly, energetic ray of sunshine everywhere I go! I was surrendered to the animal shelter with my 3 sweet baby girls, Twilight, Luna and Eclipse. I’m about 2 yrs old and weigh 48lbs and I have the cutest little short legs making me a pint sized pup. My babies have all found their forever homes and I've been spayed, so I am taking applications for a person or family of my own. Please apply if you are: looking for unconditional love, because I have so much to give; looking for a cuddles because I love cuddles; looking for someone to always be at your side, because I always want to be near my person; looking for a quiet friend because I am not a barker; looking for a single pet because I don't want to share my people and I want to be the center of attention. I love all people and am quite the social butterfly.  I just am very dog selective and should be an only dog.  My foster mom says I'm very sweet, sometimes get the zoomies, am very funny, and I have the shiniest, softest black fur.  Please apply if you think you are the right person for me. UPDATE: since being in his foster home for quite a few months Ray no longer growls at men or other dogs. His foster had a male friend that Ray had never met come over. Ray was so excited to greet him! No negative reaction at all. Thanks to the hard work of his foster family Ray has come a long way. His foster would absolutely love to keep him but isn't able to add another dog at this time. We hope the perfect family is out there for him and will adopt him soon! From his foster: he’s not as reactive as his bio makes him seem. I’ve had him some July and never one problem with him. He’s my best bud and I love him. We’ve never had any problems here. I hate the circumstance he was in, that it even had to be apart of his bio, but we had to be transparent. Ray is the best bud with all the love to give, he’s super smart and loooves to be brushed and bathed. Please don’t judge him by his bio. He’s truly the loveliest boy Raymond is a golden retriever rescued from a puppy mill. He was initially thought to be a blind senior but after visiting with the vet, Ray is said to be 4-6, and has juvenile cataracts. This happy guy loves to be with people. He is very smart and trains easily. He navigates in foster home, and will take a walk on leash to the sound of either music or his fosters voice. He’s great with other dogs, prides himself on blowing up stuffed animals, and gets very proud when he’s told he’s a good boy. Ray’s cataracts were evaluated by a specialist and sadly there is nothing that can be done. This awesome guy is looking for his forever home. His personality is infectious and we guarantee you will fall in love. He will need a home with no young kids, and will need someone willing to work with him due to his blindness and what comes with that. A preferably calm home. Blind dogs startle easily and this can cause them to go into fight or flight mode. He is still scared and is still learning how to be a dog.  Ray is in a new foster home after previously being adopted for almost 2 weeks. At his adopters Ray gravitated towards the woman of the house and felt he needed to protect her. He didn’t seem to like men and snapped and growled at them. Ray was getting a drink of water and the man of the house tripped and fell near Ray. Ray turned around and snapped at him. The man had to go to the doctor for stitches. And based on the information we were given there was also an incident with the other dog laying on the bed by the woman of the house and Ray went after him.  In his new foster home he has a male teenager and Ray is grouchy with him when his foster mom is home but completely fine with him when she is at work. He growled at the other dogs in his foster home for the first couple of days that he got there but his foster tells him to stop or telling him its ok and he has been fine since. He is easily redirected. In his foster he is around multiple people and dogs. Ray loves being loved on.   show less

Hello! My name is Ross! I'm a handsome male German Shepherd, approximately 2yrs old and 68lbs and I'm looking for a home for Christmas! I asked Santa do we'll see how it goes. I love absolutely every one , I'm good with other dogs, I love to play and have lots and lots of energy! I was brought to the shelter after I was found roaming as a stray. I thought my people would look for me but they didn't. Introducing Roxy! This dachshund girl is 16 years old. Her owner went into a Kentucky nursing home the other day and the family didn't want Roxy. They threatened to euthanize her, so with the shelter full, the director contacted me and I brought her home.  This poor golden girl is the oldest rescue we've had to date. Roxy has rotten teeth and tries to bite if you pick her up. But she will allow you to pet her back and she'll take those yummy bacon treats out of your hand. The bacon treats were our breakthrough and definitely a way to Roxy's heart. She has an appetite and eats wet and soft food only. Roxy usually uses the puppy pads and she appears to be in good health and spunky for a dog her age. Her owner kept her current on her flea meds and heartworm prevention. Roxy showed no agression towards her owner, so I believe her snappy issues are mostly behavioral. Of course, she's probably a bit cranky from the aches and pains of old age. Roxy is very happy to sleep most of the time and loves the sun shining on her through a window.  Roxy needs a sunny, quiet place to rest in her golden years. How much time does she have? I have no idea, but her owner loved her very much and at least the woman can rest easy knowing her baby is being cared for and loved. Roxy is best suited for a home without small children or young dogs. She does well with my older dog who leaves her alone and she's fine with cats.  My house is way to chaotic for this ol' gal. I hope there's someone out there who loves gray faces, is patient, and interested in providing Roxy with peace, quiet, and attention for however long she has left. She has the energy and playfulness of a younger pup, but the wisdom to stay out of trouble. She weighs about 45 pounds and still needs to be spayed. show less

🎶 IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPAAAYYYYY, then why haven't you adopted maaaaaayy ay ay ay? 🎶 It's me, Sheryl Crow! Well, not the singer, but I am named after her! In March 2022 my litter of pups was surrendered to an organization called Wags to Riches, located in Kentucky. CYP partners with this awesome organization, and was able to bring me up here to PA! I've lived the last 1.5 years of my life here in Pennsylvania with a lovely family, but unfortunately, due to my human sister developing a disability, my family is no longer able to keep me. I'm sad but so excited for my next adventure!  One thing you should know about me is that I'm full of energy! At 1.5 years old, I'm at that perfect age where I'm still a young pup at heart but have left behind some of those puppy antics. I love to play, run around, and explore the world. It's all a big adventure to me, and I can't wait to share it with you. I'm potty trained and great with kids. I haven't interacted with dogs in a while but should be okay with them, especially if they give me some time to warm up. Slate is a 6 month old terrier and is full of energy and would love a friend with tons of energy to play with him.  Slate, Marble, Quartz and Granite are 8 weeks old and ready to find their forever homes! Meet Squeak! He’s a beautiful Walker Coonhound about a year and a half old and 50lbs. Squeak was picked up by animal control as a stray but he’s ever so friendly, and eager to please. We have no idea how long he had roamed but he was completely covered with ticks and as a result he has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease and Ehrlichia. But, he’s young and strong and otherwise healthy, he is taking 30 days of antibiotics and doing great! He’s the bestest boy, good with cats dogs and kids! He’s quiet for a hound and never potties in his kennel. He’s ready to leave his life on the streets and live a new happier life with a brand new family! Could that family be yours?! show less

Please meet Sushi.  At first glance, you might think to yourself, “hmm, she looks a little intimidating”.  But as soon as you walk up to her kennel, and she looks at you with those velvety brown eyes, and her tail starts wagging so hard you think she might hurt herself, and then she puts those pretty paws up on the gate as if to ask “Are you here to take me home, huh, are you, huh, huh?”, you’d swear she was smiling at you and you quickly realize that all she wants is a person to love her as much as she loves her person.  She is a belly scratch loving, do anything for a treat, goofball of a girl.  She knows how, and really needs to bond with a person.  She was brought in by her previous owner because she became so bonded that she became intolerant of other animals.  She is looking for a monogamous relationship with her person.  In other words, she really needs to be an only pet.  She doesn’t potty in her house, she walks on a leash, although she does need a little practice, and she will do just about anything for a cookie. Give Sushi a chance- you might just fall in love with her. show less

Meet Tina! Tina is a doodle mix, approximately a year old and 35lbs. Although we believe her weight is significantly higher because of the matted fur on her. She showed up at a house with Blondie and the man who lived there contacted the shelter to pick them up. It took some time to catch Tina because she was so terrified. She is scared at the shelter but still so very sweet and humble. She quietly let us cut away a lot of hair and large burs from her face. Tina is good with other dogs and cats and we believe she’ll love anyone and everyone once she gets over her fear. She seems more comfortable with other dogs around.  show less
