About Beau
One look at Beau and you'll see he's one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He is the perfect size at only ~35 pounds! He has the face of a puppy but is an adult dog. Beau is the perfect balance of energy and relaxation. He is ready to share his beautiful smile with you and light up your life!
Beau loves being outdoors. He is flexible with his outdoor time and is happy on a walk or in the backyard playing. Beau is a good little strolling companion and is good on a leash. When he has burned off his energy, he is happy to hang out with his people. He loves having canine siblings and loves to play with them but could also be in a single dog household and would love all the love and attention. Beau is also a fan of walks and is good on a leash!
This little guy isn't very loud and doesn't bark too much, so he would be great in an apartment or with those who prefer a quieter dog. Beau is good in the house and can be left out as long as someone is home but should be crated while he is alone until he acclimates and understands boundaries. He will alternate throughout the day between playing and relaxing. During the day he's been sleeping around the house and at night goes in his crate.
He has blossomed since coming into his foster home, loves everyone and loves attention. He does great with kids but may be a little hyper at times so very small children could be unintentionally knocked over while he is playing. He loves to be with other dogs and was praised for his behavior at doggie daycare. He should also do well with dog-savvy cats but a proper introduction and time for him to learn would be needed. He would make a great pet for any sized household, and would be sure to bring his family an endless amount of joy.
He appears to be housetrained but needs to be on a schedule and understand when and where to do his business until it becomes routine. We are working with him on marking in the house; a stern No and redirect seems to be working. He sleeps in his crate through the night and is ready to go straight out to potty when he wakes up. We are also working on basic commands like sit & down. Whoever adopts this little cutie should continue postive reinforcement training with Beau. Little bonus because Beau is treat or food motivated and is easily redirected as needed.
As part of Beau’s $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
