Hi, I’m Bandit, a 6 year old beagle x who weighs 37 lbs.  I’m on a mission to steal your heart! I had a home before coming to PAW, but I was surrendered by my previous owner along with three of my fur siblings. I miss them, but I know I’ll find another wonderful person or family who will love and care for me. I love sunbathing and going out for walks, so don’t be surprised if I get excited and occasionally have some zoomies. Garfield is middle-aged and isn't so interested in all that crazy playing anymore! He is incredibly sweet and affectionate and gets along with his current people's dog. He loves when his people pet him, especially while he's enjoying his favorite pastime...watching TV! Garfield's people can no longer care for him due to no fault of his own. Hopscotch is a 1 year old beagle mix who weighs around 30 pounds. Hopscotch is certainly a happy guy! He does very well with other dogs. Hi, I’m Hopscotch. True to my name, I am a very friendly, energetic companion. I enjoy going out for a car ride and feeling the wind in my face, and I absolutely love going out for walks. I love exploring the world using my nose, and I like greeting other humans and pups alike.You can say I’m the perfect size too! Not too big, not too small. The nice man who transported me to PAW picked me up and held me while I was with him. It felt so nice being held that I stared into the nice man’s eyes for a bit hoping he’d pick me up again. Instead of picking me up again, the nice man gave me treats. Oh man, they were delicious! I’d do pretty much anything for some more. I hope my forever home will give me lots of love, treats, and let me explore the world by their side.  A PAW volunteer says the following about Hopscotch: Hopscotch is a very energetic and friendly dog. On a summer walk he overheated quickly, so we spent more time in the shade. He was happy on the walk and never barked. When meeting another dog he just sniffed them and his attention moved on. He also enjoys being carried around; he'll even sit just staring at you asking with his sweet eyes to be picked up again. He does well in the car and is excited to look around and even pokes his head outside (but not too much; we always put safety first!). He also LOVES treats, which is obviously great for training purposes. Jerry Jeff (AKA “JJ”), named after the old country music outlaw, Jerry Jeff Walker, is a 9 month old (as of July 2023), 35 lb., mixed breed pup. “Mixed with what breeds?” you might ask. Your guess is as good as ours! We do know that JJ is full of life and loves other dogs! He has a lot of energy so he’d do best in a home with active people and/or another young and energetic dog he can play with. We will update this once we get to know JJ better. *** COURTESY POST *** Lisa, a 3 month old (DOB 6/16/23), 10 lb., heeler/hound mix was surrendered to a shelter with her littermate, Lylla. Both were underweight and full of fleas. Lucky for them, the shelter staff nursed them back to good health and now they're both in a foster home! Lisa and Lylla are both great with cats and other dogs. They are crate-trained and learning how to alert their foster mom when they need to go outside. They are so smart- they're already picking up basic asks like "sit," "down," "go," and "crate." Lisa needs to find a home with people that will give her plenty of love, stability, and activity! She IS a puppy of course... Interested in adopting sweet Lisa? Ringo is a 3 year old, 24 lb., beagle mix. His foster parents say that he is awesome!! He is seriously perfect- housebroken and good with their dogs and even their cat! He loves to play, especially with his ball! Ringo would do best in a single family home, preferably with a fenced-in yard (not a requirement) as he loves to explore, run around and play.   Ringo hasn't quite picked up that not everything is a chew toy so it's best that he be crated, or confined to a certain area, when no one is home. However he does not do well being confined for long periods.  For this reason, Ringo's forever home should be in a home whre someone is home for a significant amount during the day. This precious, 2-year-old kitty is a sweet as can be, and loves  pets and will give tiny little meows to narrate the experience. Sadie's favorite game is to try to catch thrown treats with her paws! She loves playing with a wand toy, and she can jump high up and do somersaults to catch mouse toys and is very proud of herself afterwards. Sadie would do best in a quiet home with no other pets. She can be a little suspicious of new people at first, but warms up quickly! Do you have the right place in your heart for this deserving darling? She will repay you with her big heart! Sadie is up to date on her vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and has tested negative for FIV/FELV. Due to severe dental disease that she had prior to being rescued, she has had most of her teeth removed - but don't worry she still eats everything! Scotty is a 4-year old, 46-lb., Lab mix. He’s a handsome black and white with a cute stub of a tail that he wags engagingly.   Scotty is housetrained and lives peacefully in a foster home with two other dogs.  Scotty is a bit of an anxious and timid soul. He wants attention but is often afraid to go to you.  He prefers females, but will warm up to men after a while, even though he still seems shy around them. This is not surprising, as Scotty has been bounced around a lot in his short life.  He was adopted during the height of the COVID pandemic and, like many unfortunate dogs, didn’t fit in with the family's post-lockdown lifestyle.  He was in a kennel for a couple of months and then in a foster home for a while.  When the foster home did not work out, he found himself back in the kennel.  All of this turmoil would make any dog anxious.  Now that he is in a stable foster home, he becomes a bit more outgoing everyday, and loves playing with his ball.  He will do well in a calm, patient home that will help him grow confident of his place.  Because he is quite anxious at adoption shows, we no longer have him attend shows. SESAME is a 2-year, 50 lb. male Dalmatian mix. Sesame is a calm and quiet dog as he seems to be hearing impaired yet in tune to his surroundings and people. His favorite things to do are eating treats, exploring trails and meeting people. He is a very playful boy around dogs that he trusts. He rides well in the car. Be sure to give him a treat or toy on rides because it will keep him busy, otherwise he enjoys putting his head out the window and feeling the breeze. He is so affectionate, he wants to hop up to the front seat despite a doggy seat belt securing him in the backseat. Sesame loves water and jumping around creeks and pools. Hi, I’m Theo, a 1 year old, 45 lb., heeler/husky x. You can say I have a zest for life. I mean, look at my smile! I had a home before coming to PAW, but I was surrendered because my previous owner didn’t have time for me. At first, I was sad, but I made lots of canine friends at the dog shelter, like Bosley, who also hitched a ride with me to PAW. As much fun as I am having with Bosley and my other friends, I still long for a forever home. Ideally, my forever family would spend time playing with me, giving me lots of belly rubs, and perhaps have another dog I can play with. I also heard that this area has lots of dog parks. If so, I’d love to visit! You can say I’m a social butterfly, but just with four paws. The nice people at PAW promised to find me a forever home and, in return, I promise to bring a smile to your face and love you forever. Vincent is a 5 month old, 15 lbs. puppy as of September 2023. He will likely grow bigger and taller with time. Vincent likes exploring his surroundings and enjoys being close to his human. One of our amazing dog walker volunteers mentioned that Vincent likes to pick up random items on his walks, but he wasn’t possessive, and he knew, most of the time, what he shouldn’t eat. Vincent’s previous foster mom stated Vincent was sweet, super smart, and mostly house trained. In fact, his previous foster mom mentioned that Vincent would bark near the door to let her know he needed to go out. Given Vincent’s food motivation, he would likely quickly learn many commands like ‘sit,’ ‘down,’ ‘stay,’ etc.Vincent would benefit from an experienced dog owner who can help him acclimate to a new home and lifestyle.
