Single calm & cuddly 2.5-year-old red-headed female in search of her forever family. Hi!  My name is Clover.  I didn’t have a name of my own when I was rescued from the puppy mill.  Because I’m the color of the spice ‘clove’, my foster moms chose ‘Clover’ for my first name. I like my new name and I learned to answer to it very quickly. I have learned A LOT of new things over the last several weeks – including some basic commands.  I’m a pretty smart girl and I’m eager for my forever family to continue working with me. My dream home needs to have a very secure fenced yard – ideally 5-6 feet high and of a material that can’t easily be climbed.  Even though I’m happy in my foster home, dogs like me take a while to feel secure in new surroundings. We can get very nervous sometimes and think our best option is to run.  So it will be your job to protect me until I fall madly in love with you! I would also do best with another dog who can continue teaching me how to ‘be a dog.’ I like to play with my foster sis, but she is an 18-month-old pterodactyl who definitely does NOT match my play style.  She HAS taught me the fine art of begging, though!  And she has taught me to enjoy balls, toys and chew things like antlers, sterilized bones and bully sticks. And treats!  We get LOTS of treats!  Really, she hasn’t been all THAT bad of a companion – I do like sleeping near her and rolling around in the grass playing ‘jaw wars’ with her.  But a calmer, more mature dog would be a better companion for me. I really enjoy walks.  My foster moms say that I am calm and very polite on a leash.  I also ride well in a car and look forward to new adventures as I become more secure.  I’m also happy to cuddle on the couch with you and watch movies. I LOVE the Hallmark Channel!  I have not been around young children, but because I would do better in a calmer home, I would probably do best with older kids/teens – as long as it’s not too hectic of a home.  I have gotten along well with the different dogs I’ve been around (male and female).  I had a brief overnight at a house with cats.  I honestly can’t critique myself thoroughly when it comes to felines – they look and smell funny so I just left them alone. I think my ideal home would have someone who is home a lot – a retired family or someone who works from home.  I’m still unsure about the world and I need lots of support right now while I gain confidence and trust and learn just how great it is to feel love and compassion.  Right now, I’m slow to warm up to new people. But once I do, I will be your constant friend who steals your seat, your lap, your blankets and then your heart!  And, when I trust you, I talk! I mean, I REALLY talk!  My foster moms say I look like a dog, but I sound like a baby walrus!  I’m sweet and silly and I know my forever family is out there. Hi, my name is Dolly, but my foster mom calls me "pretty girl".  I am a 1-year-old golden weighing around 53 lbs.  I was rescued by GRRACE from a commercial breeder that did not want to use me for breeding.  How lucky am I!  I never had the luxury of living in a home prior to coming to GRRACE so everything is pretty new to me. I am a sweet girl, but I am still very scared and timid, especially around men.  I have come so far but I still need an experienced adopter who is patient and will give me the time I need to settle in, fully gain my confidence and learn that people are kind. I am still a work in progress with my leash manners and potty training. I am not a big fan of my crate, but I will go in and settle down and my foster mom does crate me when she leaves just to keep me from getting into things I shouldn't.  Because I am still unsure of things, I will require a fully fenced yard (preferably 5-6 feet).  I can jump really high and, if I get scared, I could try and run until I have time to bond with my new family.  I do not mind cats and love all dogs.  I will need another confident dog in the home to show me the ropes and to help me gain more confidence.  Small children might be too much for me right now so a home with no children or children older than 12 would probably be best. I didn't have the best start in life, but I have so much to learn and so much love to give.  Could you be my forever family? Meet Ruth Ruth was surrendered to GRRACE by a commercial breeder who indicated she was 12 years of age.   After services with the GRRACE vets, she is believed to be younger and around 8.  This girl is ready and deserves to retire and have a home of her own.  Ruth is an exuberant spirit.  She is happy, curious and loving.  She appreciates her current canine family and would do well with a family with medium to large dogs.  Ruth is a high energy girl and weighs around 78 lbs so she can be too much for smaller dogs.  There is a cat in her foster home but they have had very little interaction so cats are unknown. Ruth adores being outside and going on walks.  She has her best leash manners when walking with another dog.  Ruth loves older kids but, due to her size and energy level, she may be too much for young kids.  She loves her stuffed animals and her person.  Ruth gravitates to her foster mom.  She can be found sitting or lying next to her most of the time and she welcomes head and body rubs.  She would love to be in a family where someone is home often. Ruth is housetrained.  She has not been crated.  She does like to help herself to items on the counter at times so she is still learning her house manners. This girl deserves to be in a home that can provide her with the life she has always deserved. Is that you?
