About Fred
(DOB 11/05/2022). Due to Fred's young age, he has not yet been neutered. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).
Fred is definitely a snuggle time pal. He loves to crawl up on his human, lay on them, and give them kisses. He is happy if you hold like a baby or sit with him on your lap! Who wouldn't love an adorable, brindle buddy to love?
When he isn't snuggling, he is playing. He has a lot of puppy energy and needs another playful pup in his forever home. He currently lives with his brother and they romp, run, play and goof off throughout the day. He currently has a fenced yard and will want a yard with a fence (min 4ft) at his new home. If he doesn't burn off energy properly, he is at that age that he can find things to get into...you know be a little mischievous! So make sure to keep him occupied with a variety of toys, doggie puzzles, and things appropriate for Fred to chew on!
Fred is already crate trained and sleeps in his crate through the night cuddled up with his brother. He is also house trained and goes out to potty, just keep him on a regular schedule. He is working on leash walking and it's good to continue this daily even with a fenced yard. It gets him out and about for new experiences and meeting new people and dogs...which he LOVES. He is happy and loves to have new friends to meet.
Fred likes to "talk" to his brother and tell him to pay attention to him. It's really cute and funny. He is also, at that age, where he can be easily distracted and one minute eating his meal, next minute catching an imaginary butterfly. He is full of personality, and there is certain to be no dull moments!
Poor Fred does experience some car ride sickness and that should get better as he gets older and he becomes adjusted to the motion. Fred does not live with cats so hasn't been cat tested. If there are children in the home, they should be older (8+) due to his energy level and puppy antics.
As part of Fred's $325 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. At the time of adoption, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.
