About Holly
Say hello to Holly... she is one of the breeder dogs that came from the horrible conditions at the Amish puppy mill early in Dec.
**** Holly continues to be extremely unsocialized at this time, and the type of home she is needing is not just your typical home. There are quite a few MUST HAVES for her and they are: MUST have someone who is experienced in helping unsocialized breeder dogs transition from the kennel situation to a home. This is NOT just for anyone, as the time and patience put into helping to rehabilitate these dogs is huge. She also MUST have another stable dog, MUST have a secure above ground fenced yard, and MUST have someone home more than the typical working family, and a home with NO kids under the age of 16.
Holly is going to need a very committed family who has lots of patience to work with her as she is currently pretty uncomfortable in this new environment she has now been introduced to. The confines of a cold kennel and other breeder dogs is all she has ever known until now... A volunteer who has worked with her since her arrival to GRRAND has said "she is skittish and I have not yet been able to touch her, but she seems very interested in me and seems to want to let me touch her but she just isn't confident enough yet".
Sadly, Holly has not known what the soft loving caress of a good person's hand feels like yet. We know that she is going to get there, but we need to get her into a home where she is going to get LOTS of TLC and care. She needs to get out of the kennel so she can begin her new life with a family. As stated above, Holly needs another confident and stable dog in her new home as she finds comfort and stability in other dogs, and needs to learn she will get it from her family too. As Holly is so skittish and considered a flight risk, her new home will need to have a secure above ground fenced yard with direct access to the yard from the house and no kids under the age of 16.
Holly is going to need lots of time, so her family will need to be "ALL IN" to help her get over her insecurities and fears and show her what it is like to have the comforts of a soft warm bed, to live in a loving home, and all of the other good stuff that goes with it!
We are still learning about this beauty but if you feel you are the one to give Holly her forever home, please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
