Alice is a 5-7 year old Chi mix who loves attention and prefers to be in your lap. She is crate trained and will go to the door to go out when she needs to potty and will use a pee pad if she absolutely cannot wait to be let out. She enjoys playing with the small dogs and cats at her foster home. She loves toys and loves to play in the yard. We believe Alice will do best in a quieter home without small children, and that has another small dog to play with as she prefers the company of small dogs. Like many chi mixes, she can rock her attitude with the best of them. Once she attaches to her person, she’ll be devoted, like Velcro and follow you everywhere! Benny is a mixed breed handsome fella about 4 years old who prefers a quieter home and does best as an only-dog. He prefers to meet new people outside first and then does well with them inside. He is very cuddly to his people and enjoys car rides and adventures. He loves lounging in the sunshine, barking at the deer in the field, and getting the zoomies all around his yard. He's a country boy at heart and would prefer the quieter life in the country. Apartment life and busy city life is not for him.  He should go to a home with older kids and no other dogs. Brixton is a very sweet and very energetic Doodle. She has love for everyone she meets, especially children. She loves to play outside and enjoys running and jumping and playing fetch. She loves food and is highly motivated by it.  Her foster home has started some basic commands and she is getting the hang of “sit” and “watch me”. Have we mentioned she has A LOT of energy?  At only 7 months old the best way to tire her out is by letting her run and play in the backyard, she needs space to let her zoomies out. She would really love another dog in the house, but this dog needs to be okay with the amount of love and attention Brixton will demand from them. She does great with younger dogs, but an older dog will need patience for her. If given the chance she will chase cats. Brixton has some leash reactivity and will bark at people and cars, so this will need to be on ongoing training goal using positive reinforcement and her gentle leader.  Brixton has been spayed. Julieta, a Moluccan Cockatoo, also known as a Salmon-Crested Cockatoo, came to Green Dogs Unleashed with no information about her age.  Moluccans may live up to 70 years. Julieta has been vetted and appears to be a healthy, energetic adult bird.  She does have areas that have been plucked, and time will tell whether the feathers on the area will grow back. Julieta has a sweet whistle, but is also capable of raucous shrieks and calls. She is not a bird for an apartment or townhouse. According to her current foster mom, Julieta is a solid heart of gold shaped like a big white bird. She took about a week to warm up, but these days she can't get enough snuggles. She enjoys drinking from the sink while mom does dishes, shoving her face into people's hands for head scratches, and threatening her reflection in every mirrored surface she can find. If you leave her alone in a room, she gets upset and does a shockingly excellent impression of a seagull. Do you need a Julieta in your life? She requires a home with large bird experience, regular affection, and a family that enjoys loud seabird cries. Essentially, she's perfect! Moluccans are large birds with large needs, from the size of their cage (bigger is better!) to the amount of attention and exercise they need.  They have a very powerful beak and are not well-suited for small children.  She likes to climb around and will happily shred paper and wood blocks and toys. Julieta LOVES attention, and she'll let you know if she feels you're not paying her enough attention.  That being said, with patience and positive training to trust her person she can be a devoted companion.  Julieta's adoption donation fee is $400. This guy is livestock guardian dog going back several generations on both his mother and father's sides. He came to us from a home where he was put outside on a chain when he became "too big".  He had lived with or around a toddler, was fine with outdoor cats, and seems fine with other dogs as well.  He has been neutered and fully vetted. Lexi has the classic Golden Retriever temperament - super affectionate and loves to be around people. She loves all people - big and small and is doing well with the other dog in her foster home. Lexi enjoys walks and will require some additional leash training skills. She loves toys, but her most favorite thing to do is snuggle. While we never promise a dog won’t make a mistake in a new home, Lexi has not had any accidents and her foster has not needed to crate her overnight or while gone. Lexi is a great dog and would be a wonderful companion for any family. Sadly she was loved with food in her former home and needs to lose a significant amount of weight. We are working on her diet and giving her exercise but her new family will need to commit to helping Lexi get down to a healthy weight and help her build a more active lifestyle.  Lexi's previous owner said she lived with cats and did fine, however, we have not cat tested her.  At the time you are seeing this post, Lexi is still available for adoption. They are good with other large dogs but true to husky fashion, should not go to a home with small dogs or kitties. They are eager to learn, active puppies and will need continued positive training.
