Some intakes break our hearts a bit more than others…and Buddy is definitely one of those cases. At 5 years old, Buddy has never had a family, has never known anything except life on a chain (with sores around his neck from wearing a collar much too tight), and was never even given a name. After hearing his story, one of our amazing fosters stepped in and welcomed this boy with open arms….and Buddy’s life is now forever changed! ❤️ He will soon be ready for the forever home he has long been searching for, and we are honored to be the ones to help him find the love and companionship he deserves. Buddy is a husky/lab mix, is 5 years old, and weighs around 55-60lbs. In typical husky fashion, Buddy can be a vocal guy! He is a confident boy who does really well with other dogs. He LOVES to be outside! Since being outdoors is all he’s ever known, he is still adjusting to being welcomed inside, so can still be a little bit timid indoors. He is good with other animals: including cats, chickens, and goats. A fenced-in yard would be a major perk for this boy, however this is not a requirement. Buddy will need help with leash-training and his basic manners, as these are things he has never been taught and/or exposed to…but his foster mom says he is a quick learner and is doing better every day! He isn’t a big fan of his kennel as of yet (and is a bit of a Houdini!), so will need lots of patience, persistence, and positive reinforcement from his forever person/family as he learns everything new and fun in this fresh start he’s been given! His foster mom says that Buddy is an overall chill boy; while he is still curious, he mostly enjoys hanging out, his bones and toys, and cuddles + relaxation with his person. While we don’t know what Buddy’s previous feeding schedule was like, we do know that he can get protective and resource guard when there’s food around. He has never displayed this behavior around dog food/dog treats (only around yummy smelling people-food!), but in knowing this we think he would do best with older, more responsible children or in an all-adult home. We would love nothing more than to see Buddy settle into the loving home he deserves. Miss Honey-Bun (aka Honey 🍯) would love nothing more than to start out her New Year with a forever family of her very own! 💛 This sweetheart is just as her name suggests: a honey. And an absolute LOVE! Honey (female) is estimated at right around 2.5 years old. She is a pretty pittie mix and not only is she a low-rider, but is smaller in stature; she weighs in right around 40lbs! And it probably goes without saying…but THOSE. EARS. 😍😍😍😍 Honey has spent a fair amount of time in her short life being a caretaker as “mama”-dog, and it’s now her turn to soak up all of the well-deserved love and spoils! She lovesssss to give kisses! + is all about the snuggles, lap cuddles, and endless belly rubs. She is affectionate beyond measure! Honey is 100% potty-trained (no accidents/puppy-business for this girl 🙌🏼), and goes into her kennel on-command. She does like to devour her food in no time at all…so would really benefit from a slow-feeder bowl, as well as being fed separately from other dogs in the home. To note, Honey’s playstyle with other pups is described as “rough.” She has an alpha personality, and isn’t necessarily a candidate to live with any/all dogs. We are recommending a home without small dogs (30lbs or less), and ideally she’d do best with another submissive + playful dog. That being said, Honey would also ADORE being your one & only (all the more love for her!). 🥰 As of right now, we don’t know how she’d do with cats…but because of our “no small dogs” requirement, we are guessing that kitties would also be a no-go. Honey loves kids of all ages, but older kiddos would be best for her…being that she may attempt to sneak food from small hands, if given the chance! 🙃 Some of Honey’s favorite things include chew toys, attention from her people, and…did we mention snuggles!? This sweet, happy boy is Jeffrey! He is 3 years old, a terrier mix of sorts, and weighs right around 45lbs. Jeffrey would do best as an only-dog. That being said, he also has some separation anxiety (as he loves his humans soooo much), so ideally would thrive with a person who’s more of a homebody and/or someone who works from home. If/when he is left home alone, he does best when kenneled (he will whine a little in his crate at first, but settles in after just a couple of minutes). Jeffrey love, love, LOVES people…kids included! He adores everyone and loves to smother his people with puppy-smooches…and would love to spend his days snuggling endlessly. Jeffrey will need a forever family who will provide him with the time and attention he needs + who will commit to working through some of his anxieties, but we promise that the love he will give in return is more than worth the effort. This handsome little bean is Jett! 🥰 He is also a part of the “J” litter [who were rescued from a semi-local Amish farm several weeks back], and is just as sweet, lovable, and as happy as can be! Jett (male) is now approaching 12 weeks old, and weighs right around 18-20lbs. Although we can’t guarantee how big he’ll be full-grown, he is said to be a border collie/lab mix…so our best guesstimate would be around 50-70lbs. Jett is a smart little man who picks up on things quickly! He is playful, loves his toys, and has had a blast romping in the snow with his 4-legged foster siblings! He is really getting the hang of his potty-training, and has started going to the door to alert his foster family when he needs to be let out. Plus, he has been accident-free in his foster home for quite some time! He has done amazingly well with everyone he has met (adults and kiddos alike!), and has been a friend to every single dog he’s crossed paths with. Although not a requirement, Jett would probably really love having another pup-mate in his forever home…to both play with + follow their lead. As of right now we don’t know if he’s met kitties, but with the proper introduction and maintenance we think he’d do just fine coexisting with them. He is also doing well adjusting to kennel-life without his siblings. He does cry a bit upon first getting in his crate, but after a few minutes settles right in and sleeps there throughout the night. For being a newbie on-leash, Jett does very well! He sometimes gets a little nervous with all of the new sights and sounds on walks (cars driving by, etc.), but is becoming more and more confident every day! When it comes to car rides, Jett MUCH prefers riding in the lap of one of his humans vs. riding in his crate. 🙃 He is such a sweet, snuggly, goofy boy…with so much love and companionship to give! Jonah + his brothers and sisters are ready to find their forever homes! They are 9 weeks old and — best guess — are border collie/lab mixes. At 9 weeks, they range in size from 6lbs to 15lbs, with most being right around 10-12lbs. They are wonderful pups! Friendly, outgoing, and well-socialized. They are doing great with their potty-training (although this is complicated, as they are all still in a foster home together…so no one-on-one individual housetraining has been done). This gorgeous mama is ✨LILITH✨ and she is now ready to land herself the most perfect forever home! 💕 Lilith (female) found herself in a shelter in Texas where she gave birth to ELEVEN healthy, cute-as-can be puppies (including Murphy, Dara, Gabby, Lewy, etc.) on 9/28/22. Shortly after, Lilith and her babes were transported north on the first leg of their forever journey. Fast-forward to today: Lilith has fulfilled her mama duties, and she can’t wait to begin her life with a family all her own! When she first came into the shelter she was insanely skinny 🥺, but has since filled out nicely and is now much healthier and happier! Lilith is said to be approximately 2 years old, and weighs right around 75lbs. She is the sweetest, most lovable lady with an adorably SMOOCH-able big block head. 🥰🥰🥰 Because of that feature, we think she could be a bully/mastiff mix of sorts. Lilith loves people (ESPECIALLY men; her foster dad is her favorite!), is eager to please, super food-motivated, and loves all the attention + affection she can get. 😍 She is kennel-trained, fully potty-trained (win! 🙌🏼), and does well listening to her humans and coming when called/responding to her name. She’s an intelligent girl! She knows several commands (sit, off, lay down, leave it, etc.), does fairly decent walking on-leash, and wants nothing more than to be your shadow…ear-scratches and belly-rubs included, of course! 😉 Lilith has been introduced to young children and did very well; she’s a submissive and happy gal (but do keep in mind her larger size!). She does great with other dogs, but would also be 100% fine as your one and only. She loves to play in the backyard, keeps the squirrels in the trees, and especially enjoys playing fetch. She will make someone an INCREDIBLE companion!
