About Peach
(DOB 12/03/2022). Due to Peach's young age, she has not yet been spayed. For this reason, we are only considering local placement (within 1 hour drive time of Wake Forest NC).
Meet one of the Super Mario Bros gal part of the gang! The foster family are video game fanatics and aptly named them after their favorite Nintendo characters. Princess Peach, as you might guess it, is a sweet little diva. She loves a good belly rub for sure. She usually sits on the sideline and watches the action before she joins in. She loves to hang out with her brother Luigi. She is agile and quick on her feet. She is the most submissive in the litter, but is definitely not a push over and holds are own with the boys. She has a sister as well and maybe, just maybe, they are vying for top Princess-hood. Peach is definitely her foster daddy's favorite (we know, you aren't supposed to have fav's but he loves her very much)!
Peach is a little smarty for sure. She was the first to learn to SIT and DOWN on command and was likely happy to show up her bigger brothers. She needs parents who will commit to the time and patience to train her. In addition, her new home should have a yard with a fence for her to be safe and happy.
She is playful and super sweet, but at her age she is at the puppy teething and learning bite inhibition stage so there's still lots of nippy/mouthy activities going on. Her foster family is working with her and giving her lots of age appropriate toys and things to chew on. With this in mind, no very young children in her new home; children 8+ years. Peaches does love everyone she meets, we just don't want little fingers and toes ending up in Peaches sharp puppy teeth.
Peach is looking for a family with another dog in the household that has playful energy and patience for the antics of a puppy. This other furry sibling will continue to help Peaches develop her socialization skills and increase her overall positive behavior. Other types of socializing young pups we always encourage. The more puppies can experienc new places, people, sounds, activities, things, etc the better. So take Peach with you and continue to practice her loose leash walking and use treats for other positive reinforcement training. Like we said, she smart and treat motivated. Taking Peach out and about to new places is great for her to learn and build confidence; just remember car rides are still new and she gets a little car sick. This should go away as she becomes a fan of car rides.
Peach is very young and will need a family that has time to work on her proper potty training. Potty training requires someone to be home so frequent/routine potty breaks can occur throughout the day. She will also need to build her crate training.
Their momma is a Plott Hound, and we aren't sure what the daddy was a mix of, so be ready to watch this princess blossom into a beautiful girl! Peach will like be medium to large in size. For now, her typical princess day consists of her foster mommy spoiling her and she...eats, (poops), plays, sleeps... repeat. She is looking to continue being the princess in the eyes of her new family, get lots of belly rubs and share puppy kisses!
As part of Peach's $325 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. At the time of adoption, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered.
