About Davis

Meet Davis: Davis is about a 2 year old (as of December 2022) hound mix that weighs about 65 pounds. Davis was abandoned with his 3 pups (Angel, Noel, and Holly) at Davis Lake in Houlka, MS. They were at risk of being killed so the park wouldn’t have strays around. We are so thankful that we were contacted and able to get them to safety! We named the dad Davis and he is for sure a gentle giant. Davis is very well behaved with any and all other dogs, children and adults! Davis spends time in a pen outside currently in the south and we are not sure if he is house trained, however he goes to one spot to potty and is very smart, so it seems like he would be a quick learner. We would love for Davis to have a home with a fenced in yard. Davis is up to date on his shots and is scheduled to be neutered. If you are interested in adopting this sweet guy, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.

Meet Banjo! Banjo is a 5 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 65 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings and he has the most expressive face. Banjo is a sweetheart and a fragile soul that likes to be told he is a good boy and he just wants to please. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and with an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is reactive to new situations and he is learning to come out of his shell and be more engaged in the world and not so selective and nervous around strangers. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, crawl, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is muzzle trained, house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo will not chew on bones or play with toys and his fosters are working on getting him to learn what toys are. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs when introduced slowly, he will play with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper iand slow introduction with an experinced dog owner. Banjo would prefer a home with no children and likes women more than men. Banjo requires a fenced in yard and an active adopter. If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  show less
