💙BLAZE💙 This beautiful boy is Blaze.  Blaze is a 22 month old German Shep/Husky mix, he is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and ready to light up your world.  He is gorgeous!!! Blaze has one blue eye and one brown eye and weighs a solid 64lbs Blaze is good with people, older kids, other dogs, but not great with cats.   He is crate trained, housebroken, energetic and friendly.  He is still very much a puppy and comes with puppy energy and will need a committed, active adopter.   Blaze is looking for someone who enjoys walks, hiking, visits to the dog park or any place else he can run and play.   Blaze needs consistency in a routine, continued training and MUST be exercised. He is HW negative, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and weighs 92lbs   Buster "Fischer" is one big love!  This sweet boy is crate trained, housebroken and great with dogs and kids.  Fischer is in a foster home with another German Shepherd and two Australian Shepherds and is learning dog etiquette and basic training.  Fischer has a fabulous disposition.  He is easy going, friendly and very loving.  He loves hanging out in the backyard and keeping a watchful eye over the yard and chasing off the squirrels.  Fischer has been cat tested and did great with a dog savvy cat (video available).  Fischer has made his debut out in the neighborhood by visiting dog parks, pet stores, etc and has done amazing!   Fischer is affectionate and really lights up when he gets pets from kids.  If possible, his foster would like to see Fischer adopted into a home with children.     Apply today to adopt Buster Fischer    show less

This delightful little flower has been through a lot and would do best with a savvy adopter that understands German Shepherds and the odd quirks from a somewhat unsocialized girl.  Daisy is good with other dogs but needs her dog introductions to be slow and gradual.  Her adopter needs to be patient and slow to set her up for success and with children over the age of 10.  Daisy loves her crate and her toy bone. She will put herself in her crate to take a nap or to just get away and chew on her bone.  She is very affectionate, energetic and wants to be with her people.  Daisy has completed a board and train and is at the TOP of her class! 💙FRED 💙 Fred, better known as Jax by his foster family,  is a 9 month old puppy who came into our rescue with his siblings (Scooby, Shaggy and Daphne). He is a happy go lucky boy that loves to be with his person. Jax is neutered, up to date on vaccines, weighs almost 50lbs, is heartworm negative and microchipped.    Fred/Jax is in an outstanding foster home with kids and other dogs. He loves chew toys, stuffed animals, especially the ones with a squeaker inside, is potty trained, crate trained and sleeps all night without incident. He loves people of all ages and enjoys playing with other dogs.  His foster home does not have a cat so we are unsure how Jax feels about cats.  His foster has been working on leash walking and simple commands (Sit, Stay) and this cutie is excelling.   This handsome Shepherd mix has both ears up, is treat motivated and easy to train.  Jax loves an adventure and has enjoyed many trips to the lake with his foster family and their dogs.  This boy is all about the fun and has excellent recall. 💗FREYA💗 Freya is a 1 and a half year old Belgian Malinois mix. She is current  on vaccines, spayed, has completed heartworm treatment and is current on prevention.  Freya loves to snuggle, getting pets and is a low energy Malinois    She is very smart, loving, great on leash and definitely knows the command "sit".  When we walk through the door she will try and run through the door, but not to escape, she just wants to go wherever we go.  She is being fostered with dogs and cats and Freya has done great.  The vet noted she appears to have early signs of hip dysplasia but this doesn't seem to slow her down; Freya plays, walks and runs without.issue   This sweet girl gets along with everyone but may NOT  be suitable with young kids.   Her foster has taken her out to "people watch" and said Freya can be a bit scared of some big men but once the meeting was complete, she was fine. Her foster said Freya would do best with an adopter who works from home.   show less

💙GHOST💙 Ghost is a handsome 3 yr old, strong boy.  He weighs 75 pounds and can be a little shy when first meeting people.  Ghost is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and housebroken.  This stunning boy is good with dogs his size, but does have some prey drive so NO cats or small dogs.  Ghost is a big fella and is not aware of his size, we recommend adult adopters. Ghost is looking for an experienced large dog foster or adopter and needs a big yard to run off his energy.  Ghost would do best in a home with another friendly dog, his size, to romp and play with.  Ghost has been through formal training classes and the adopter will need to continue these practices to keep him consistent.     Notes from his foster:  Ghost needs a lot of physical activity and stimulation. Ghost needs to be in a household where he can go out and spend extended time outside exploring, playing, and running around, multiple times a day.  Even with chewing and toys in the house, it’s still not enough stimulation for him, he needs a lot of monitoring because he will chew on things he shouldn’t and will find things because he is curious and explores everything!  Ghost Is skittish and reacts to very random things;  he barks at the ceiling fan every time we turn it off or on.  He barks aggressively (unprovoked) at our teenage kids a lot, like he doesn’t remember who they are when they come home or come downstairs in the morning.  It takes him a while to calm down and warm up to them again.   There are so many great things about him.  He loves to play and it is super fun to play with him.  He’s loves to play and run with our German Shep. If he’s going to be in a home with another dog, it definitely needs to be a dog that can match his energy or be very patient with him when he wants to play and they don’t.  He’s pretty much housebroken, but needs to go out often or he will have accidents.  He’s done great sleeping in the crate at night, but it’s a challenge to get him in there, even with treats.  He’s not a treat-driven dog.   He definitely still needs to work on manners.  He’s gotten better with sit, but he does grab food or treats.  Whomever is interested in adopting him needs to know he will need work and be willing to do that work with him and must be patient.   If you are interested in this big spritied boy, please fill out an application below for GHOST Https://www.sauverdeschiens.org/adopt     show less

Jeb completed slow kill treatment for heartworms .  This sweet boy is 62 pounds of pure country lovin'  Jeb is very playful, great with other dogs and leash trained.  He doesnt know what to do with toys yet, foster stated he was tied on a chain before entering our rescue.  Jeb can be a little standoffish at first, but quickly warms up when given a little space and time.  Jeb loves to wear a cowboy hat (and boots) and loves spending time outdoors to run and romp.  He does great on car rides and hopes to find an adopter to expand his wardrobe.      If you are looking for an easy going guy, Jeb is your boy!  show less

💙KOVU💙 This is Kovu. This stunning 6yr German Shepherd/Husky mix is looking for a very special home in the Dallas or Houston Metro areas.  Backstory: Kovu and his puppies were a severe abuse case. The owners had locked them up in a house for months without food or water. Kovu’s wife was a husky and a husky rescue took her and we took Kovu and puppies. The puppies have since found their forever homes. Kovu, however, needed more help with human socialization. He has come a long way with his foster. Kovu is 6 yrs old, up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, housebroken and crate trained. He LOVES other dogs and has gotten along with every foster that has come in the house and he is great with puppies, but he has no cat experience. Kovu also has no kid experience. So a home with older dog savvy kids, or no kids, would be best. Kovu likes to play tag with his person once he’s comfortable with you. He does like giving kisses and he is treat motivated! Kovu is looking for a pack, dogs that are sweet and will show him that people are too! He’s made so much progress that he even does ok on a leash now but he tries to avoid others walking. Kovu has a bark but really only uses it when it’s dinner time or he just got let outside and is excited!  👉 Here's the "very special home" part. Kovu is not a social butterfly as far as humans go. His foster can pet him, but Kovu gets no enjoyment from it. Kovu is not a snuggle dog and since he’s 6 it could be years, or possibly never, that he reaches the point of wanting that much attention. 💙LEBRON💙 Meet Lebron James!  This handsome German Shepherd mix, with a poofy curl in his tail, is 5 years old and weighs @ 50lbs.  Lebrons coat is amazing and this boy has little to NO shedding.   LeBron is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped and is heartworm negative (completed slow kill treatment).  Lebron has just completed a board and train with an amazing trainer and is now in a foster home and doing great.   He is housebroken, crate trained, excellent on leash and has mastered the doggie door.  Lebron seems to get nervous around small children and would best be suited in a home with ADULTS.  LeBron is being fostered with 2 older small dogs.   He is gentle with them and respects their space when they don't want to play. LeBron has also met the fosters 2 bigger grand-dogs and he did super with them as well. Foster mom Cindy says LeBron sits for treats and he takes them very gently. He is working on socialization and doing well. Typical of shepherds, he does show the protective trait. Lebron wants you to know you don't have to be a LAKERS fan to adopt him, he is just looking for a family to call his own.  He would love to cheer on your favorite team or take a leisurely walk around the neighborhood.
