About Josey

Adoption Fee: $175.00

Josey is a 5-month-old tabby shorthair, with bright yellow eyes and a grey-striped coat splashed with white - a neat front ruffle, a blaze across her nose, white socks in front - and crazy long white "boots" in back!

Josey is adventurous and loves to play with toys and puzzles or go a few rounds with her siblings Sparky and Jonie. She has a mellow personality and enjoys being around people. She rubs your ankles, loves a good scratch, and may curl up next to you for a nap or a night's sleep. She's not anxious and gets along great with other cats (we don't know yet about dogs or children).

Josey is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all age appropriate vaccinations (including rabies) and she has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Josey can't wait to find her perfect forever home and family!

The first step in our adoption process is to complete PAW’s Cat Adoption Application. PAW’s Cat Adoption Application can be accessed by following this link: or by using the ‘Adopt’ shortcut found on this kitten’s profile page on PAW’s website:

Please Note: Once an adoption application has been approved and selected to move forward with our adoption process, you will be contacted in order to schedule a virtual ‘Meet and Greet’ with the kitten and their foster. Our virtual meet and greets are most often conducted via Zoom or Facetime. Since adopters are unable to meet our rescue cats in person at this time, PAW is honoring a 2-week trial adoption in order to ensure the kitty match you’ve made is a perfect one!

*As an all volunteer organization we do our very best to review and respond to Adoption Applications as well as general Inquiries in a timely fashion. We genuinely appreciate your patience as it can often take several days to a week to complete this process. Once an application is received, reviewed and approved, a volunteer will be in touch with you as quickly as possible!*

Bootsie is a sweet black and white long haired female cat who was found in a cat colony in Harpers Ferry, WV. Despite living with many outdoor feral cats, Bootsie is very friendly and was clearly a housecat at some point. Our vet estimates Bootsie at 4-6 years old. After about a week living indoors, Bootsie has adjusted to life inside and loves to be petted and brushed by her foster mom. She enjoys sitting and sleeping with her foster mom and loves to play. Bootsie has been checked out by our vet and is in good health, though she has tested positive for FIV. FIV is not transmittable to humans and can only be transmitted to other cats via deep bite wounds. Cats in households with stable social structures where housemates do not fight are at little risk of acquiring FIV infections. In addition, research has shown that cats with FIV can live a lifespan as long as a non FIV cat. FIV should not be seen as a reason not to adopt! Bootsie's adoption fee is $125 and she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. If you are interested in learning more about Bootsie, please contact Heather at The first step toward adoption is to complete an application. After reviewing your application, a volunteer will reach out to you to arrange a virtual meet and greet.  show less
