About Rayden

Adoption Fee: $350.00

Meet Rayden, a 1 year old, 55 lb., retriever/lab mix. Rayden is a sweet boy who enjoys spending time with people and playing with other dogs. On walks, his tail is always wagging! He is curious about his environment and the humans and canines that pass by. Rayden has medium-to-high energy and would do best with a few periods of exercise per day – whether through walks/hikes, playdates, or running around in a fenced yard. Rayden is learning to “sit” and respond to his name with eye contact. He would thrive in training, as he is bright and treat-motivated. With other dogs, he gives off friendly vibes: bowing and bouncing around in that crouched position to initiate play. Rayden has all the makings of a wonderful companion. He just needs a person/people to show him patience and love, and help him experience the many joys of doggie life.

PAW places animals in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area only.

***COURTESY POST***** Bobo, an 8 year old, 60 lb., Amstaff is living with his current mom, who says the following about him: Bobo had a very rough first few years of life. I adopted him from a kill shelter where he had been brought after being found chewed up by other dogs in a ditch. He had heartworm and terrible anxiety. Over the last four years that I've had him, he's turned into a whole new dog. He is a low energy dog that enjoys resting around the house and laying with you while you watch tv. His favorite things are being loved and food. He always brings a "present" to greet you when you open the front door whether it's a toy or a pair of underwear. He is quirky and loving and absolutely loves car rides. He holds the leash in his mouth when he's excited to go out for a walk. Bobo enjoys playing tug of war with his stuffed animal lamp chop toys. He gets along great with people and has been exposed to kids from age 5 and up. He enjoys short walks or hikes in areas without other dogs around. He can't walk more than a mile or two at most. He does lunge at dogs when on leash and doesn't get along with other dogs. He knows commands like sit but will usually only comply if a treat is involved. He is housebroken. He is afraid of storms and hides in the bathroom during them. The ideal owner would have a fenced-in backyard with no other dogs or cats. He would do well with someone dog-savvy with patience. It breaks my heart to have to depart with Bobo because I love him more than anything. I just don't have the ability to properly care for him anymore in the way that he deserves.
