About ANGEL (S Korea) ck Adopted
Hello! I am Angel, an 18 month old male Jindo/German Shepherd mix that weighs 48 pounds (22 kg) and stands 23 inches high. I was rescued by some amazing people from a burning building in Feb 2022. Now I am available and ready for my forever home!
I tend to be a bit shy towards strangers, but treats make me open up quickly. Once I get to know someone, I come when called and cuddle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTZaPswsxxg&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=2 See how happy I am to get treats? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6L1z4xzvq8&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=4
My handler says I like other dogs and actively approach them to say hi, some dogs may be irritated by how active I am, when there is another active dog around, I love to play! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSjKpIuZ-iY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=5. When I was out for a walk, I saw a cat, and did not react much. However if I am excited, I may chase fast moving cats or squirrels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIfiOqsLeMY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=13
My energy level is high, so if you are looking for a hiking or running buddy, pick me! I walk on a leash like a pro, and loud urban noises don't bother me. I even enjoy car rides and jump into and out of cars on my own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1unriQ2BI4&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czs99CiAZZA&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6BwGJH_z3g&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=12 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1unriQ2BI4&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JwBYujpwJuFY6dhT8828Enj&index=10
There has been no aggression shown, and I have a moderate appetite with no resource guarding issues. There have been no signs of separation anxiety, I don't get car sick, I am crate trained. Sometimes I bark at strangers or new dogs and have marked in a new place, so you need to be on top of that.
So what do you say? Want a beautiful boy as your new excercise buddy? Apply for me today!
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems!
Basic training should be taken seriously and should begin within a few days after arrival. After your dog has settled in, check out courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.
HEALTH NOTES:
I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.
ADOPTION FEE:
My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
