Meet London: London is about a 19 week old (as of September 10, 2023) lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 30 pounds. The L litter of 4 (Lillynn, Leo, Lacy and London) were being given away out of the back of an SUV in a parking lot in Mississippi’s 100° heat. London is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. London looks like he has socks on his front feet. London loves water! He likes playing tug of war with his rope and chew toys. London is crate trained. As a puppy, London will need some patience while he works on his house training, but he is making great progress; rarely an accident! We would love for London to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely! London is up to date on his puppy shots and will be neutered when age appropriate. Meet Loretta: Loretta is about a 5 month old (as of August 2023) lab mix that weighs about 15 pounds. Loretta was found with her sister, Patsy, near a dump site on a country road in the south. A nice man found them and brought them to us and we were able to get them into the rescue. Loretta is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. These Country Gals are as sweet as can be and both very loving and friendly. They both have your typical puppy energy and love to play with toys!  Loretta is very smart and loves to get treats, so she should be easy to train. As a puppy, Loretta will need patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Loretta to have a home with a fence so she can play and run freely. Loretta is up to date on her shots and will need to be spayed. Meet Mama Cookie: Mama Cookie is about a 5 year old (as of August 2023) pit mix that weighs about 55 pounds. Mama Cookie had 5 years of living the life inside as a family pet before a human baby came along and her life changed. Her family didn’t “have room” for her inside with the baby, so she lived outside under an old truck & slept on big rocks. Due to being outside and not spayed, Mama Cookie inevitably ended up having a litter of 10 sweet babies that she carried off to a safe haven. On one of her return trips looking for food, some of her babies were following along and the owner locked 3 of them up in a kennel (with actual locks). When we get wind of this, the rescue went to see if we could help the situation; we were able to pick up the 3 babies, mama Cookie and a 4th baby that happened back. We are looking for her other pups and hope to find them. Mama Cookie is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Mama Cookie is the sweetest girl! She loves to be your shadow.  She has been very dog friendly and has done great with her foster families Calico cat and kids. Mama Cookie is super friendly with all and just wants attention and affection! Mama Cookie is fully house trained. We would love for Mama Cookie to have a home with a fence so she can play and run freely. Mama Cookie is up to date on her shots and spayed. Meet Marina: Marina is a 3 year old pit mix (best guess) that weighs about 50 pounds. Marina was at a local pound when she found herself on the euthanasia list. We are so glad that we were able to get her in time! Marina loves everyone; she has never met a stranger! Marina loves to play, especially with her dog friends! Marina does well with kids. Marina would do best in a home without cats. Marina is crate trained and seems to be house trained. She will go right into her crate and sleep all night long. Marina will need a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely off-leash. Marina is up to date on her shots and is spayed. Meet Mars: Mars is about a 1 year old (as of August 2023) American Pit Bull Terrier mix (best guess) that weighs about 50 pounds. Mars was found in rural Mississippi as a stray when he was around 4 months old. Mars is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Mars is so, so sweet! He loves to play outside in the water! Mars does wonderful riding in the car and loves to go on adventures with his humans. Mars is great with all other dogs he has been around and does really well with all people, including children. Mars does bark at cats and will chase them, so we would recommend a home without cats. Mars is such a good boy and is house, crate, and leash trained! Mars stays crated while his foster parents work, and doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety or kennel stress during that time. Mars is a great all-around boy, needing a home with an active family that can give him a life of adventure and love. Mars will need a home with a fence so he can play freely. Meet Maurice: Maurice is 6 months  old and guessed to be a pit / lab mix that weighs around 30 pounds. Maurice and his litter mates (Belle, Prince, Hunter, Magic, Maestro, Phillipe, Chip and FiFi) were rescued from being sold out of the back of a pickup truck at a grocery store. Maurice is currently in a loving foster home in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to meet more prospective families. This Beauty and the Beast litter is your typical group of very sweet, loving, curious, happy pups! They all love to eat, play, snuggle and sleep. We expect this group of pups to be a medium size (mom is about 40 pounds). As a puppy, Maurice is doing great  on his house training. Meet Maverick: Maverick is around 6 months old (as of April 2023) and guessed to be a shepherd/lab mix that weighs about 35 pounds. Maverick and her litter mates (Patches, Goose, Minnie, Pickles, Fe Fe and Zoomie) were found with their mom as strays.  The finder is planning to keep their mama and are fostering the pups until we can find them great homes. This lovable litter is a group of friendly and active pups.  They love to romp and play around with each other outside.  They are currently in an outdoor kennel in the south, so they will need some patience while they work on their house training. Meet Memphis: Memphis is a 2 year old boxer/terrier mix that weighs 55 pounds. Memphis was found as a stray in Mississippi but was lucky enough to be scooped up into rescue care. Memphis is a such a nice girl who gets along great with other dogs and people, however she does not enjoy the company of cats.  She is a real snuggle bug! Memphis is a leash trained, crate trained and house trained. She can be trusted to "free roam" while her foster family is not home. When it comes to mealtime Memphis prefers a "table for one" since she has a tendency to guard food. Memphis will need a home with a fenced in yard. She is up to date on her shots and spayed. Meet Milly: Milly is an 8 month old Hound/pit mix that weighs about 55 pounds. Milly’s mom (Tilly) gave birth to her litter of 5 at a shelter in Mississippi and they were days away from euthanasia when we were able to rescue the crew! Milly is very friendly and full of energy, enjoys long walks and her chew toys.  Milly is house trained, crate trained but needs work on her leash walking. Milly would be best with dogs her own size as she plays rough and might be to much for a small dog.  Milly would do great with older children who could throw the ball and be active with her. Milly can be super chill if your with her my yourself and want to cuddle or watch TV. Meet Monte: Monte is a 14 month old Chihuahua/terrier mix (as of Oct 2023) who is bonded to his brother Pancho. Both were adopted together as puppies but were recently returned to Charlie's Crusaders when their owner became ill and could no longer care for them. Monte and Pancho are now being fostered near the Lancaster, PA area and are looking for their forever home! Monte is a playful boy who loves to zoom and play. He is crate trained, potty trained, and working on leash training. Monte is good with bigger dogs, cats, and children. Monte is neutered and is up to date on his shots. A fenced in yard (with appropriate fencing for little dogs) is required to adopt because when Monte and Pancho get the zoomies they need a safe contained space to let out their energy! This beauty is Morticia AKA Winnie.  She is a 1 year old Great Pyrenees/Lab and some other wonderful mixes.  She was adopted just about a year ago from us but is being returned.  She's a big, beautiful girl of 85lbs.  Winnie is your typical Pyrenees/lab; needs to run, loves to play with dogs her size and will need someone to give her daily runs, play time in a fenced yard and work with her. Winnie is up to date on her vaccines and spayed.  She is potty trained and crate trained though the crate is not her favorite spot, but with some training she can be taught the crate can be a good, safe place once in a while.  She is not good with cats, unless the cat is dog savvy.  It's suggested children in the home be over 12 years of age because of her size and her not yet mastering the "no jump" rule.  Also, dogs in the home should be on the younger side and same size due to Winnie's desire to play.  Winnie will require a fenced in yard for her to play and exercise daily!!    Please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. show less

Meet Nick: Nick is about a 6 month old (as of November 2023) hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 25 pounds. The Jonas Brother litter (Kevin, Joe and Nick) was rescued by a wonderful person who stepped in when she heard that if no one came to take the puppies, the owners son would “take care of them” in the woods.  These babies were rescued in time and are ready to have a loved life! Nick is currently being fostered in the Drums, PA area and would love to meet his forever family. This litter is your typical group of sweet, playful, and loving puppies!  They are great with other dogs (and scared of the cat they are with, so they leave them alone). As a puppy, Nick will need some patience while he works on his house training, but he is doing a great job with his learning.
