Riggs is a cuddly, energetic nearly 2 year old goldendoodle. Riggs was surrendered to GRRACE because his previous owner did not have the means to properly care for him and they wanted him to live his best life. He has quickly adjusted to his foster home where he lives with 2 other mid-size dogs and a dog-friendly cat. He does enjoy playing with his foster siblings and he would do well with a family that has another dog or furry friend to keep him company, but it wouldn’t be necessary. Riggs is a large boy, weighing in at 78 pounds and is still growing into his body. Like any golden he does like to ‘jump’ and give very exuberant greetings and would probably do best in a home with kids used to dogs or 8+. He loves playing fetch and chewing on a good bone. He is very gentle when taking treats and knows how to sit and is very treat motivated and would love to learn more fun tricks. He is housebroken, and is home with his foster siblings for 7-8 hours a day. In his foster home he is gated in a room during the work day and has freedom in the house when his foster parents are home. He does bark a little when they leave for the day, but calms down and will rest in either his crate or out in the room. He loves to cuddle on the couch or in bed with you, but is a good listener and will respect boundaries you set. He does well on car rides and was a good boy at his recent vet visit. He even allows for nail trimmings!
