About Tyson

Adoption Fee: $625.00

Meet Tyson! Please read Tyson's entire profile prior to applying, which includes a link to the adoption application. Thank you!

His name is perfectly fitting for this giant puppy! Tyson was approx. 6 months old and just under 50lb when he came to HHAR from a rural Georgia shelter. He displays typical Boxer mix behaviors- full of energy with a goofy, talkative nature- unaware of his own size (think bull in a china shop!). His play style is rough housing, so he would be best either as an only dog or will need a submissive, yet playful dog in his new home. Older, laid back dogs won't tolerate this super puppy. Tyson has not been kid tested as he is staying with our vet staff until he is altered and vaccinated, but due to his energy level, he would not be suitable for young children, small animals, or apartment living. This means no cats, please! His sweet, deep puppy eyes will lure you in, but Tyson needs an active home committed to training and lots of exercise. The vet believes Tyson will be a large breed dog due to his current growth rate. He will be around 7-8 months old when he arrives in New England in September.

Please note: The information provided is based on our Southern partner's feedback we have been given as of the day of posting. HHAR does not guarantee the breed mix of any dog or adult size of any puppy. Any breed(s) listed are the veterinarian’s opinion based the information they have, usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a Super mutt! All dogs are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. Any dog adopted from HHAR will require professional training once adopted to become the best family member they can be. Our dogs are rescued from high-kill situations in the South and brought to New England for foster and/or adoption. We are entirely volunteer-run and foster-based, so we do not have a physical facility for you to visit or call, and we cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken, crate trained, or cat/kid tested. To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must fill out an adoption application. To learn more about our shelterless rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website. Pre-approved adopters can arrange a meet and greet for dogs over 6 months old who already in New England, and the adopter is expected to travel to the dog's location. Applications must be submitted at  for consideration. We estimate it can be up to a week before you hear from one of our volunteers, depending on volume at the time of submission. Thank you!
