About Babette

Adoption Fee: $150

This sweet floof is Babette.  She loves being petted, cuddling on laps, playing with toys and cuddling with her sister, Molly.  She loves being around people of all ages and wants to be included when the family gathers.  She is litter box trained.  Babette and Molly are like two peas in a pod and would love to be adopted together.  They spend most of their time together playing or cuddling.   They both love chasing each other around the house doing sneak attacks on each other or humans. They are both fine with small dogs and after proper introduction would do well with large dogs too.  They are both great with children and adults and want to be included when the family gathers.

Babette and Molly will be attending our adoption event on Saturday, 12-4pm, PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd.

Get $50 off the combined adoption fee when adopting a pair of kittens.  All cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, vaccinated (whatever they can have in the period they are in our care, some will still need additional vaccines after adoption), given dewormer and flea preventative and provided care for any known illnesses during their time with us.

I rescued him a year ago from a rural hwy in a snowstorm. He was underweight, dirty and needed help. We got him neutered, vaccinatted and put weight on him. He has flourished with being loved and part of a family the past year. We had every intention of keeping him forever, but with our current life situation I realize now I cannot provide the ideal home for his specific needs.  He deserves to find the family that can. My daughter adores him too, so this is very hard,  but it would be selfish to keep him just because we love him so much. I’m putting out feelers for the right forever home. Magic is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. He loves every human and especially children. He is extremely submissive with other dogs and gentle.  Magic would do best in a home without small animals. I mention this because he likes to chase them. An outdoor/barn  cat would likely be fine. He wants to be with his human(s) as much as possible and would do best in a home where his people work from home or can regularly take him to work etc.  He would be an amazing shop dog! The challenges he faces are separation anxiety and liking to run. Both are manageable with the right space and  family.  We have found he does really well crated when we need to leave for short periods of time. He feels safe in his crate and does not fuss, but I don’t want him to have to be crated for 5+ hr days. He travels really well and is safe to go just about anywhere.   Magic loves : Snuggles, car rides,  visiting the elementary school,  ice cream and coffee shops,  laying at your feet downtown while you have dinner on the patio, going on camping adventures etc. He is very versatile and chill. If you want a therapy dog, he could easily become certified as one for children or elderly due to his gentleness and absolutely loving temperament . He will only be going to a home better than he already has here, so I will be extremely selective.  Adoption fee to ensure good home or a donation to a local dog rescue. Must haves for Magic: * Work from home or have the ability to frequently take him to work with you. * A nice fenced yard with tall fence. * Time to take him on leashed walks daily. He will adore you, but he also tends to be a runner so a leash is key. Please inquire at mtngoatscapes@gmail.com or 828-777-6698 if you think you check all the boxes for amazing Magic’s dream home. show less

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! This pet is NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue.  Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pet or apply to adopt this pet on the MPR website.  Contact rachaellynn23@gmail.com for more information or to adopt the pet. Moose was adopted from a kill-shelter in Memphis last year by my father to be a junkyard dog as my father owned a scrap metal business and wanted a dog to be there. I had no idea about this because my father and I had been estranged. My father passed away, unfortunately, and that is when I found out there was a dog there. I traveled to Memphis and took action to get Moose out of his situation. I paid for Moose to go through intensive training with Happy Tails Dog Training in Memphis. He has been there for 2 months, and it turns out that Moose is just the very best boy! He is obedient, playful, joyful, full of energy and love. He is good with other animals, adults and children. I am going to Memphis at the end of this month (September) to bring Moose back to Asheville as I had no luck with fostering and adoption in the Memphis area. I am unfortunately unable to keep Moose as I already have 5 animals and cannot properly care for him. Moose is on Bravecto and has the Heart Gard shot that lasts one year. He is neutered and has been chipped.  Contact me today at rachaellynn23@gmail.com to learn more about happy Moose! show less

Petite gentleman seeking shared living quarters. We know what you’re thinking: “another unrealistic roommate search in Asheville…he’ll never find something in his price range, “ but keep reading because Morty's a special guy who brings a lot to the home.  As a roommate Morty doesn’t take up much space. He doesn’t need his own room and actually prefers to share your bed! No need to make room for his stuff in the kitchen; he’s not much of a cook.  In exchange for living in your home, Morty offers the following: -a listening ear, both emotionally and to your call. -polite eating: not messy and won’t take your food without permission. -always up for adventures: walks, hikes, car rides, you name it!  -quiet: rarely speaks out of turn and won’t talk your ear off. -social: Morty has lived with dogs of all sizes, cats and babies so he’ll be a perfect gentleman at your next Soirée. Morty's only belonging is a tumor. He wears it on his left shoulder, and other than occasionally itchiness, it doesn’t seem to bother him. Per our veterinarian the complications of removing the tumor are not in Morty's best interest. At this time it does not affect Morty's quality of life. He eats and runs, and has a zest for life just like any other dog.  Can you provide Morty with his new digs? Please email Morty's foster mom Mariah at keoghms5@gmail.com. show less

BONDED PAIR: Ninja is a sweet, very quiet, cautious tuxedo boy. His first response in a new situation may be to hiss because he is trying to size things up, but it stops there with no following aggression. He is slow to adapt to a new environment, but if you can be patient, and let him progress on his own time table, he will show you what a good cat boy he is. When he first came to me, I gave him the space he wanted, making a point to pet him & speak to him without picking him up. Very gradually, he evolved into coming to me, rubbing up against me, and quietly purring when I held him.  This took almost 3 weeks.   He finds comfort in being with his brother Simba and would appreciate a quiet home. Ninja enjoys cuddling up with you on the couch with a blanket. He likes gentle touches. He doesn't like a lot of people around at one time. He will go and hide if there is a lot of people or a lot of noises.  He enjoys kids as long as they are easy with him and quiet. He enjoys playing with his brother, Simba! Simba and NInja were recently returned due to no fault of their own.  They have been together since they were adopted from MPR as kittens in June of 2021.  Meet them at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, on Saturday, 12/3, from 12-4pm.  They are currently in a foster home.     All cats and kittens have been spayed/neutered, FELV/FIV tested, microchipped, vaccinated (whatever they can have in the period they are in our care, some will still need additional vaccines after adoption), given dewormer and flea preventative and provided care for any known illnesses during their time with us.     Apply to adopt to coordinate a meet and greet with this lovely pair of boys! show less

Olive

Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! Olive was found emaciated, pregnant, flea-infested and covered in wounds and scratches. She was very underweight, but still a ball of sunshine with a big smile for us. She has recovered beautifully after being spayed and treated for fleas and injuries. Her eyes had iridescent cloudiness from severe malnutrition and trauma.  They have mostly cleared up to a small area of cloudiness on each eye that doesn't seem to hinder her eyesight. I suspect Olive was overbred. She treats everyone like they are one of her puppies; she is very loving and a protective peacemaker. She is always happy and ready to play or run outside. Olive is a cuddler, she doesn't just sleep - she melts into the bed or your side. As she has recovered, she has filled out with strong muscles and is a beautiful dog.  She adores my son and is good with cats. A perfect home for Olive would be one where she gets lots of love and attention. She loves to lay on her back in the sun and a good chew toy. She's older; she doesn't have puppy energy.  Olive is house-trained, intelligent and easy to train.
