About Sasha

Adoption Fee: $250.00

Hi friends! I’m Sasha! I came to HALO in August of 2022 to work on building my confidence and overcoming some fears. Prior to HALO I spent some time in a shelter. My friends at HALO have helped me learn a lot of cool things! They take me for walks to work on my leash manners. They play ball with me to work on impulse control, and they introduce me to new friends (both human and dogs) all the time!! They have learned that I absolutely love kids! I get so excited when I see them and can’t wait to play with them! I also love to play with toys and my tennis ball. I’m excellent at sharing and will you take it away from me. I love to lay on the couch in the sun but also love to play out in the field with my friends. I am young so I do still have a good amount of energy. I need a family who will be able to socialize me and teach me that the world isn’t scary (especially the lawn mowers!). I would love a family with kids that I can play with.

Amea is young female mixed breed.  She has been found rooming around last Summer probably because whom ever had her was unable to handle her, take care of her needs and didn’t claimed her neither!    Being a “cute dog” is not a promise of a good start or a good dog life! As result, when found Amea was not potty trained, was likely depressed, had developed strong separation anxiety, and had become a very talented escape artist: she can climb and go over a 6 feet fence like it’s a baby gate. Since she has been found, she doesn’t try to run away though, she is just looking for her “human”. Amea will be extremely attached to you! Be ready to have her around you like your shadow. Her separation anxiety has greatly improved since she feels safe and understood. She will still need a lot of time,  patience, calmness and understanding to find her own confidence. She is still on home crate training. She doesn’t bark much, and whine for a few minutes and then settled. She is also taking some medications to help her transition toward a more comfortable self.    Amea is a very playful still puppy dog,  always eager to go for a  walk or go to the dog park where she has many friends. She has been socialized with adult people and dogs of all age and breeds outside of the house and does very well. She is very high energy and loves outdoors, water, chewing her toys, and cuddle with you anytime afterward. No doubt, Amea is adorable, smart and very expressive and will be stay on your side! She is spayed, vaccinated, has a microchip, and she is on a monthly dewormer program.  Even well socialized, her prefer forever home should be a single dog home with a fenced yard. Amea needs a patient and calm adopter as she is still a work in progress. She is easy to redirect and  train,  just needs love and soft boundaries.    Adoption app: https://www.halok9behavior.com/adopting-one-of-our-pets show less

Do you want the most loyal loving dog in the world? This boy named Robert James aka Bobby has been one of the most misunderstood dogs we've met.  He is a big headed bulldog pitbull mix with a BIG heart!  He loves his person with a passion and will guard his person with that big crazy bulldog head (sometimes irrational and impulsive) and bark! He is not one of those dogs that you can take out to the petstore, dog park, etc. He is one of those dogs who will be on the couch with you watching your favorite show! He will follow you around like a shadow and cry for you when you leave.  Bobby is one of a kind and everyone at HALO wishes they could adopt him! Unfortunately, due to his guarding breed we do not allow him to live with another dog.  He is NOT dog aggressive and can walk by dogs, live next door to dogs, and actually isn't even aggressive to cats! But Bobby is NOT a fan of visitors and prefers to NEVER have vistors unless he knows them! In fact, we are working on his impulse control, asking him to wait, leave it, place, etc. because it helps him control himself when seeing strangers.  He has been with HALO for several years but we are not giving up! Have you heard all the bulldog noises? This boy is full of them! His huffs and gruffs are often mistaken for aggression, which they are not! It's his way of saying "Hello! I see you're here to play with me!" Bobby would prefer a homebody type person to live the life of luxury on the best couch he can find. We know he has a person out there! Are you his person? He needs you! HALO will continue to provide all training after Bobby's adoption. His $200 adoption fee includes all vaccinations, neuter, and microchip.  Adoption app: https://www.halok9behavior.com/adopting-one-of-our-pets show less

Say hello to Jack! You might remember him from last year when his name was Jax. He was adopted by a wonderful family and thrived in their care. Unfortunately, the husband passed away and the wife is unable to care for Jack. This is not due to Jack's behavior, but the financial challenges of having an extra large dog who is also on medication for his skin. He also is a young and energetic dog, and she is unable to provide the necessary outlets for all the spunk. Jack's family loves him and the decision to rehome has been difficult.  Jack is a great people dog and absolutely loves people! He is very playful, likes to play with his toys,   likes to take walks, and he leads very well. He is a big fella who weighs in at a healthy 108 pounds. He gets a little anxious around other dogs so he needs to be the only dog in a home. He can be taken out to do his business but he is a house dog. He is a very good dog!  He would do best in a home with older children because of his size. He has sensitive skin, and is on meds for that and loves to get baths to help. He’s doing very well with obedience training. He loves to go for car rides. He is a giant cuddle bug! Jack's adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchip, and neuter. HALO will continue his training at no additional cost to his adopters.    Adoption app: https://www.halok9behavior.com/adopting-one-of-our-pets show less

Aloha friends! My name is Pineapple, and if you are looking for a 2-ish year-old pocket pittie to be your one and only, I am ready to give you all the cuddles and kisses you could ask for. I made my way to HALO through the ASPCA and have spent time at both HALO and in a short-term foster home.  I love going on adventures like walking in the woods, sniffing flowers at nurseries, hanging out on patios, and going to outdoor events like a farmers’ markets. Anywhere I can get lots of sniffs and meet new human friends. I even like gentle pets from toddlers and young kids! Playing is one of my favorite activities, especially if it’s with my jolly ball, squeaky toy, or a flirt pole. I can happily entertain myself but LOVE to play or run with my people. I have met other dogs during my outings but need more work on my canine socialization. At night, I love to snuggle. I will wake you up with licks and hugs.  During my rescue time, I have learned to Sit, Hold, Break, and Find It. Since I am still working on Drop It and not doing the nibs nibs on people, I would do best being the only pet and with older children. As I sometimes get over excited, I need patient people to help me with my impulse control and leash walking. I don’t mean to pull – I just love to explore. Plus, I have gotten a lot better! I am so cute and cuddly that you won’t mind helping me become the gentleman I am destined to be. Good news! I am already muzzle and crate trained. In addition, in the weeks with my foster family, I only peed in the house once in the first day or so. Then I’ve only gone potty outside! Things he is scared of: Balloons, Lightsabers, wrist strengtheners. He doesn't like small dogs barking at him. He did well meeting dogs his own size. He does well getting baths. Easiest dog to bathe.  To learn more about me, please email HALO. You can also view my time and adventures at my foster home on Instagram @OnestlyCute.  Adoption app:.halok9behavior.com/adopting-one-of-our-pets show less
