The owner who surrendered them got in over their head and had unaltered males with unaltered females making even more of them. They are not socialized with human interaction much. They are good with other dogs and cats, but based on their limited social skills with humans we will not adopt to a home with young children. My siblings and I were fending for ourselves when a nice smaritan picked us up and took us to the shelter. In the shelter we were sort of happy because we were out of the elements and fed regularly, but that came to a end if some one like Cober's did not take us in. Now we are learning to be a house dog, learning what a nice bed is and how we can sleep without fear. I am no longer able to produce money for the previous people and rather than putting me down they gave me to a rescue to help me find a forever home. I am not used to home life and not used to a lot of human touch. I am scared at first as are most of my new friends that also have the same background. Due to our situations and being scared we will not be allowed to go to a home with children that are not prepared or able to read when I am scared. I have never bitten anyone nor shown any aggression towards anyone or anything but if the fear gets too overwhelming and a child is not mindful the rescue is not prepared to allow us to be put down because of lack of ability to read an animal like a toddler. Otherwise we are sweet and loving. We are working on becoming more social. He does need some patience as he is not used to a lot of stimulation or human contact. We have come a long way with him and he does enjoy his belly rubs and cuddles some.
