About Amelia (Has Application)
Adoption Fee: $450 for Adult Dogs and Puppies
Priority is given to applicants who are willing to adopt the puppy prior to their arrival (Adopt-off-Transport). This means you will adopt and take your puppy home without the opportunity to meet the puppy in advance. Applications are screened for the best possible fit for a puppy home. In case your puppy of interest already has an application in progress, please select other dogs of interest on your application. We do not adopt more than one puppy at a time to a single home.

She is doing great with the resident dog and cat foster siblings.

Amelia is ready for someone to help her through new situations and show her all there is to explore, see, and sniff! As she is still a baby, Amelia doesn’t want to be toooo far away from her person, but has been experimenting with independence and adventure when she feels comfortable.
Amelia is full of energy and good vibes! She loves toys, chews, and exploring the world with her tiny mouth and teeth. Playtime is one of the best parts of the day for Amelia, she especially enjoys running around outdoors or chewing toys! Amelia plays hard and then sleeps even harder!
She is a fast learner and is very eager to please. Amelia is quickly catching on to many concepts like house training, leash walking, and crate training. She is very excited to learn even more words and concepts (and enjoy a few good treats along the way)! Amelia is so excited to meet her furever family and continue growing up and exploring the world. Amelia is just starting her required vaccine series (due to her young age), and she will need additional vaccinations. She is not spayed.

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDCK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
