Meet Bella Sue, a little Southern Belle in South Texas. Bella Sue is a beautiful pocket Mal just under 50 lbs. Don’t let her size fool you … she can spring up like a kangaroo! Need an exercise buddy?  Want to do agility training with your dog?  Bella Sue is your girl! Although she can be timid when first meeting someone, she warms up and then loves to be with her people.  Shut down when she came out of a kill shelter in TX, she is now a much more confident and happy girl!  Bella Sue is amazing with younger and older children, good in the house, housebroken, crate trained and has made great progress in her obedienc training.  This gal also walks well on a leash and is learning to play with toys.  As she has been playing with other dogs who chase balls, her ball drive has been getting much stronger!    Bella Sue plays well with medium to large sized dogs and would benefit from being in a home with a neutral, confident dog (although this is not a must have). Blu is a healthy, intelligent and energetic 1.5-2 year old high-drive Dutch Shepherd/German Shepherd (60/40) mix who is looking for his forever person. Within a few days after rescuing Blu from the shelter it was apparent he was an exceptional dog with enormous untapped potential. He has been at a local board and train in Florida known for its expertise with shepherds and working breeds. He is doing awesome and everyone’s favorite dog at the facility; working on socialization, leash handling, and general obedience. Building confidence with leash work, impulse control, and releasing items have been primary skills for Blu. Also, he is naturally cautious dog, so he’s worked on comfortability around people. His foster prior to training shared that he stole their hearts immediately: smart, alert, affectionate (with those he trusts), eager to please, always ready to work, obedient, and full of personality. Blu is a dynamo and, with the right leadership, will be a faithful and devoted dog. A single-family home would be ideal for Blu without small animals or children.  Potential for living with another large dog in the home with proper introductions. It is important that Blu is matched with a confident handler who will follow up and be consistent with his training, make sure he gets exercise and mental stimulation, read his cues, and direct his energy through positive outlets like scent work.  Local adopters will have the opportunity to work with the trainer to ensure Blu’s has a smooth transfer to his new home. Update 11/24/23:  Looking for a new best pal for you and your dog(s)?  Brisket could be your perfect choice!  Just six months old, this handsome, spunky guy absolutely loves playing with his foster sisters, teasing them by taking their toys or romping and wrestling with them in the snow.  And while he is energetic, he also has a solid down switch, and enjoys chewing on a favorite bone or just cozying up on his favorite dog bed.  He is still a bit wary of new people, but it doesn’t take him long to lick their hand and approach them. Brisket is a total love-bug, and frequently comes running for pets and caresses.  He adores being cuddled and just hanging out close to his foster mom.  Outside, when not playing with his sisters, he is playing tug with his foster mom, learning to chase balls or on the sniff, searching out mice or interesting scents in the ground.  He may be a good candidate for scent work! Brisket is fantastic with kids; he just adores them!  He has been tested once with neighborhood cats, and showed some mild chase interest in one who ran, and was completely bored with the one who just sat and looked at him, so it is very likely that he can be in a home with dog savvy cats with a bit of training. Brisket is now house-broken and crate trained.  He sleeps quietly in his crate at night, usually without a potty break, and whimpers softly if he needs to go outside to potty.  He knows the basic commands of “sit” “down” and “come,” with treat rewards and is improving in his overall recall and ability to “leave it.”  Ready for a dog with the perfect blend of energy, intelligence and affectionate nature?  Brisket may be your perfect pup! Cagney fka as Leila, came into rescue from a shelter situation with another dog and was hospitalized due to a severe upper respiratory infection that she survived! She is fully recovered and ready for her furrever home. She is approximately age 14 month and  is spayed and up-do-date on vaccinations. She's a high energy girl, but does not show much tug or ball drive.She may not have ever been introduced to either. She does have a high prey drive towards livestock. Will chase cattle.. doesn’t show herding instinct.. lol. Just scatter. Frenzy type work. Small dogs, cats, chickens, etc.. are all a no go..  She is super friendly, over zealous at times. Would probably be too much for children. When over stimulated becomes jumpy and nippy.  She's been working on barrier reactivity... and showing improvement.  Cagney likes other dogs,  though currently she can play rough and can be a bit dog selective. She is food motivated! Kennel/crate trained. Extremely nervous still in house. But will eventually be fine. Has a sweet personality.Is a quick study!! Wants a job, wants to learn!! Lots of things still to unpack with this girl!! Callie is a young female dog about 3 years old that had been stuck in boarding after she was pulled from a shelter's euth list. She is now in her foster's home in the Ft. Worth area of Texas and we are just getting to know more about her. We do know that she is so ready to be in her furrever home, settle in, and start living her best life. She is good with people and other dogs. Currently intact, she will be spayed and UTD on vaccines prior to transport to her new home.  Callie loves people and loves attention! She is such a good-natured soul! She is good with other dogs and would love to learn how to play with toys and would enjoy long walks and cuddles on the sofa. Chloe is a young female Belgian Turveren, approximately 1 1/2 years old. Chloe was surrendered by her previous owners through no fault of her own- family had a change of circumstances and could no longer care for her.    Chloe is a shy velcro pup who was very close to her people. She is smart, attentive, alert, and inquisitive. She has HIGH ball drive, toy drive, and will play tug.    Chloe would do best being the only dog, or a VERY SLOW introduction. Chloe seems to like submissive dogs. Chloe lacks confidence, but upon becoming more confident she would likely seek to play with other dogs, and look to people for love.  Chloe would do well with age 10 and above breed savvy children. Chloe knows basic commands and is crate trained, and is available for adoption.  show less
