Meet Lucy a 15 lb. senior dachshund mix. It’s no wonder that her name means “light” because in the midst of adversity, Lucy has a bright shining & loving personality. This 10-12 year old low rider was rescued from a dark & dismal hoarding situation and needs some TLC. Lucy is being treated for a few infections, but you’d never know it from her sunny & spunky attitude. She would love to be with someone that is her constant companion. Lucy’s three favorite activities are being held, eating & supervising in the kitchen as you cook! She’ll need help with house training, but is getting better with pee pads. She is deaf and has been in a house where she was never alone so you screams like a human when left alone. She will follow you around like a shadow. Are you the one to help Lucy’s light shine brightly? Please apply at crossyourpaws.com if you are interested in giving a forever home. Hey now! Where are all my single ladies and young couples at? Cause I am your man! Nicco is the name, or Scooby take your pick! I am a very smart boy at just a perfect age of 8 months old! I weigh about 50 pounds with a bit more weight and growing to go! I am house trained and crate trained but really prefer to snuggle on your lap or in your bed! I know how to give paw, sit, lay down and working on so much more! I have come a long way with some training and consistency in my foster home. My foster sisters are becoming my best friends but my foster moms say I need my forever home so they can continue to help other babes just like me. Now if there is one thing I need to say, it is that kids they just aren’t for me. You know I mean the little ones who move way to quick! Like Scooby I am afraid of my own shadow - so quick movements and loud sounds can spook me. If I try to be bossy it’s because I’m scared and need reassurance that all is okay and a rewarding treat…ooo like that peanut butter or something! I really am just a young pup looking for my forever home and direction. Well anyways I’m off to go watch the door to “protect” my women of the house from those strangers outside, hope to meet you soon.♥️🐾  you are interested in adopting or viewing our available dogs, please visit crossyourpaws.com.  If you have an application on file- please message us on Facebook -do not email! Peach is looking for her new forever home. She is a loving dog, her favorite past times are snuggles, fetching a ball and her Kong bones. She does well in training and is inquisitive around other dogs. We think Peach would do best with no small children in the home because she loves her person and shows some guarding. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Other than the blindness in one eye, she is healthy.  Hello, my name is Peach! I am 3-4 year old female pitbull mix. I was left abandoned in the middle of a busy road. I was scared and running for my life. But I was rescued! Now I am looking for my forever home. I spent many days starving and unloved but now I weigh around 70lbs! I am going blind in my right eye and sometimes I bump into things or get scared if I see shadows. When I get scared I never show aggression. I love people of all shapes and sizes even the extra small ones, but sometimes I jump. I am always very excited to see people and be shown affection. With the right introduction I would be great with another dog that's high energy just like me. I would not be a good fit for a family with small animals as sometimes I want to chase them. I am crate trained, house trained, I do well riding in the car and on my leash. My crate is my safe space and I always need it available in case I get overwhelmed. Sometimes when I’m bored I like to chew so I need toys around all the time. Tennis balls are my favorite! This year for Christmas all I want is a home to call my own, a bed to snuggle into, and a human to always reassure me that I am safe. Sheeba is a shy, very scared girl. She is a lab mix, approximately 2yrs old, and only 30lbs. Sheeba was abandoned by her owners. KY's animal control officer saw her and knew the people had moved away and noticed how thin she was so he stopped to help her. She was too scared to come close to him so she had to be caught in a trap. She still had a rope around her neck from where she’d been tied up. After carefully coaxing her out with treats, she’s very treat motivated, she warmed up to the shelter staff.  Sheeba has been in her new foster home and had some pain while using the bathroom. She visited the emergency vet and they immediately learned she has a fractured spine near the base of her tail and back. This is causing serious discomfort to squat, lift her tail and move her bowel. No surgery can be performed to fix it, as there are tons of nerves in there that could cause other problems if damaged. The doctor gave her a couple weeks of pain meds to help with the discomfort and feels she will heal (although a little crooked) in a few weeks.  However, she is settling in nicely with her fosters pup and already stole her favorite bone!  She is coming out of her corner, but it's all about baby steps.  She loves getting face pets and looking you deep in the eyes.  She also loves scratches under her chin and cuddles (on her terms).     Sheeba (aka Sheeebz) Update! (It’s a big one!) It is very hard to believe that only 7 days ago, I was so scared of everything! You could see 5 of my ribs, my hip bones stuck out and my fractured lower spine was making it miserable for me to go to the bathroom. I have put on a few pounds and not only are my bones barely showing, my coat is so shiny and soft now! My medicine has worked better than I could have thought and I am not having any problems with pain anymore. I have been really loving my foster home and my foster sister is helping me gain my confidence and she loves to play and wrestle with me even though I always tackle her legs out (strategy!). I get to sleep in my own big crate and sometimes I go in there just to relax and hang out. I don’t bark very much at all, but when I do, it is a sweet little howwwlll so I think someone In my family was a beagle. Now that going to the bathroom doesn’t hurt so much, I’m doing so well with my housetraining. My foster mom has these potty parties with treats every time I go outside, so I’m realizing that’s the best approach because I LOVE treats. She does watch me like a hawk inside though, since it’s only been a week. It is quiet where I live now, there are no young children or loud noises and I feel so comfortable in that environment. I’m a little extra timid around men right now, but maybe with enough time, I will give them as much affection as I give women. Also, I love going out on walks, there is so much to see and I’m very light on the leash. I just enjoy the stroll. If I feel you are the one for me, I will always stare deep into your eyes and give you a kiss so you know how much I love you! show less
