About Duke
Duke was saved from a kill shelter. His prior owner had dumped him at animal control with his bone. Duke had no idea what was happening, and he held on to his bone, as the only small piece of familiarity, and comfort. Duke didnt realized from the moment he was walked into the building that a timer started ticking. Dogs who are surrendered to the shelter that we saved Duke and others from, only have 24 hours until they are euthanized - for space. The communities, and shelters are so overwhelmed, and they have to take stray dogs in. They do not have the capacity to keep up with the enormous amount of unwanted and abandoned dogs. So dogs who are dumped by their owners, are the first to be euthanized.
Luckily for Duke, Paws Rescue League saw him, and made arrangemts to save him. Duke was picked up and placed in a TN foster home, was fully vetted, and cleared for adoption. He arrives in New England on 07/02/2022, and will be ready for his furever family!
Duke is crate trained, potty trained, he knows his basic commands, sit, and lay down. He is good with other dogs, we are unsure about cats, as hes not been cat tested yet. He is good with people but we suggest older children 10 years and up.
Duke is an active dog, true to his breed, he is a sweet dog and aims to please his owners. He cant wait to be in a home where he is loved and cared for, and never dumped again.
