About ARAM (Middle East, mm) Special Girl
- Please, please don’t pass me by, because it says “special needs”. I am so much more than that. After reading my story, you will see what a brave little pup I am.
- Please note potential additional costs for me to get to you near the bottom of my profile.
- Unfortunately, due to recently introduced CDC regulations, dogs from [China/Middle East] can no longer be imported into the US. Therefore [dog] is only available to Canadian residents.
- Hi There my name is Aram and here is some information about me:
- Breed: Tibetan/Chihuahua mix
- Age: 7 years old
- Gender: Female
- Weight: 10 lbs
- Like many female dogs in the Middle East, I was used for breeding. When I became too old to have puppies, my horrible owner put me in a stable with horses. I am such a tiny dog and those horses were so big, it was very frightening.
-
My worst fears came true when, one day, I was accidentally kicked by a horse. It left me with an injured spine and my back legs would not work. That horrible man took me to the vet, but would not pay for my treatment. Luckily the vet refused to let me go.
My amazing rescuer heard about my story, paid for my treatment and brought me home to live with her. She has looked after me so well, but she is busy looking after 200 dogs at her shelter, so I need to find a forever family to care for me.
The name ‘Aram’ means calm in my local language, and that totally describes me. I feel so lucky to be alive; I appreciate everything. Even though I have been through terrible things, I remain full of joy and happiness. I love being with hoomans and enjoy playing with my doggie pals. Although I can’t use my back legs, I am otherwise healthy.
The best home for me would be one with a loving family, who has time to help me. If you have a small, gentle dog, I know we would be best friends. This is not necessary; I am perfectly fine having all the attention lavished on me. Not sure about cats or kids though. Sadly, I have never had a chance to meet them. I know my needs are more than other dogs, but I will give you love, love, love if you bring me home. I hear that Canada is a great place for dogs. Perhaps you will give this precious little soul a chance.

Energy level: moderate

Dogs: yes
Cats: unknown
Kids: Yes and vids to come.

Fears: Despite eveything that happened to me a happy girl who loves to be around all humans! -

Leash training: Due to my condition I usually stay home or at the balcony so I was never been on leash
House trained: Yes as per abovePlease Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.

Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.
-
Health notes: I am paralyzed. I have been not been neutered but I am vaccinated and microchipped.
My adoption fee is $650 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a fight volunteer directly to Vancouver. -
Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
