Meet Banjo! Banjo is a 4 year old Plott Hound mix weighing about 65 pounds. He is a beautiful boy with his brindle coat and white chest and markings and he has the most expressive face. Banjo is a sweetheart and a fragile soul that likes to be told he is a good boy and he just wants to please. Banjo loves to be active and is a high energy dog. He enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, and playing. Most of all, Banjo enjoys cuddling with his people on the couch. Banjo struggles with confidence and anxiety issues, but has been working on these things with a trainer and will do wonderfully in the right home while continuing his hard work and with an adopter that is knowledgeable with anxious dogs. Banjo is reactive to new situations and he is learning to come out of his shell and be more engaged in the world and not so selective and nervous around strangers. Banjo is also very food motivated! Banjo is well versed in obedience training and knows sit, crawl, down, stay, bed, speak, and roll over. He is muzzle trained, house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. Banjo will not chew on bones or play with toys and his fosters are working on getting him to learn what toys are. Banjo would be best in a home with a single person or couple. Banjo gets along with other dogs when introduced slowly, he will play with them, and could do well in a home with multiple dogs but needs the proper iand slow introduction with an experinced dog owner. Banjo would prefer a home with no children and likes women more than men. Banjo requires a fenced in yard and an active adopter. If you are interested in adopting Banjo, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  show less

🔴 PLEASE NOTE MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME AND HAVE A FENCED IN YARD🔴 Meet Betty.  Betty is a six-year-old  American Pit Bull Terrier. Betty is the sister and litter mate of Billy who is also featured at Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue.  Betty has been home-raised all her life.  She did go to a new home for nine months but was reclaimed by the original owner and breeder because the new owner failed to provide shelter for her.  Other terms of the puppy contract were also ignored forcing the original owner to take possession of her.  Recently Betty’s owner was diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension making it impossible to care for four dogs.  Betty is a spayed female, current on all her shots including rabies.  Vet records are available.  Betty loves kids and other dogs but is probably too much dog for small children.  She will be a great companion for children eight years and up.  Betty is housebroken.  She loves to go for walks and loves to play with her brother Billy.  She is very friendly and loves attention from visitors and strangers.  She settles down quickly after an initial introduction.  She loves human touch and really loves to cuddle in bed or on the sofa.  She and Billy will be wonderful additions to any family.  Betty and Billy are crate familiar but have rarely been crated.betty and billy are a bonded pair and would like to stay together. 🔴 PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST OWN YOUR OWN HOME HAVE A FENCED IN YARD & BREED EXPERIENCE 🔴   Meet Briggs: Briggs is a 3 year old brindled neutered male pit bull mix. Briggs is a happy guy who enjoys being around people not dogs. Briggs has come a very long way in his trust in humans. Briggs is a very loving boy that loves people. Briggs has been through a very structured obedience clas for 6 weeks. All of his trainers love him and say he is one of the best dogs they have worked with.  Briggs is fully house trained and walks excellent on a leash.  When Briggs trains and walks with his trainers, his face is happy and his tail wags. He loves receiving praise for jobs well done and certainly enjoys treats as well. Briggs is extremely proficient in his obedience skills and workouts and really enjoys the stability, predictability and positive affirmations that they bring to his life. In our hopes for the best possible future for Briggs, we are seeking a person or family with children over the age on 12, who have a good balance of head and heart. Logic and love can and should live together to help guide him in the most positive, proactive and balanced way possible in order to teach him how to navigate this world… positive, fair, calm and balanced leadership. Love through leadership will bond Briggs to a new family and win his respect, love and loyalty.  Briggs has been with Tall Tails Training & Boarding for 6+ weeks and has excelled in his learning curve and trust rehabilitation. Counter-conditioning his previous experiences, de-sensitizing him to stress, instinct and impulse control along with building an inner calmness in Briggs have been the focus of his training program. Owner training (in the form of private lessons) is necessary and will be included in the new foster or owner’s experience with Briggs. Briggs shows great promise for being a wonderful companion with a loving and balanced human.  Briggs has a big heart and wants nothing more than to please you. Bunny was born 3/22/22 in one of our foster homes.  Her mommy had been left at a groomers with who we believe was the daddy?  They left them both with a fictitious phone number.  The groomer reached out to us for help.  Mommy and daddy both broke with Parvo so we immediately got them to an emergency hospital.  Upon examination of mommy, it was discovered she was pregnant with 4 babies.  When mommy was clear of Parvo she moved to a foster to prepare for her delivery.  She delivered 4 healthy, beautiful babies; 2 boys and 2 girls.  We believe them to be Pug, Chihuahua and terrier mix and will probably to be around 10-15lbs fully grown; that’s a best guess.  Bunny is super sweet, well socialized and knows how to use pee pads.  She is a young puppy, so she’s not crate/house trained and will need lots of patience going through puppyhood.  Puppies are a TON of work!  Please be sure you are mentally, physically and financially able.  Too young to be altered; we will discuss options with an approved application.  She’s had 2 sets of shots and been dewormed regularly.  Children in home need to be over 10 years of age because of the her size.  A fenced yard with wire is required due to her size.  Bunny will be available around 6/12/22.
