Amber is a Dutch/Mal mix born in December 2021.  Her mom was Dutch Shepherd and her dad was Malinois. Her foster is working on crate training and potty training.  She appears to be good with cats and other dogs but we are still learning more about her so please stay tuned for updates. I've been staying with a professional trainer for the past year and just haven't found the right home. I am told it is because I'm super duper special, a diamond in the rough to be exact, but I need a working or super active furever home. I love to play with kiddos, male or female doggos, indoor cats that I've had a formal introduction to and I even ignore my foster momma's chickens! I know basic obedience, I am cage muzzle trained, love water sports and I have a super sniffer! My perfect home would be one that gives me a job like scentwork or dock diving! Do you love dog kisses and being smothered with affection!? Meet Athena. She enjoys giving kisses and loving her humans.  She was raised with young children and has lived with other dogs.   She will need time to adjust to any new environment and will need proper introductions when meeting new dog friends. Athena can be very vocal when she is overwhelmed with excitement. She is learning how to express herself with proper socialization manners. When she arrived in her foster home, she was timid, but her confidence is growing in leaps and bounds.  She's ready to come leap and bound with her forever family! Athena is currently recovering from knee surgery and will need to go to a family who is willing to help with her recovery. She currently still favors the recovering knee and will need to continue with her physical therapy exercises. Athena sometimes doesn't realize she is still healing as she just wants to play! Blanca is an approximately 3 yo spayed purebred Malinois love bug who enjoys long walks with her person. Loves toys, dogs ok if they are dumb boys (can be dog selective, males seem better than females).  Good in a crate for periods of time, will definitely tell you when she has to go potty. She wants a best friend and will stay around in the garden and help you weed or plant seeds! I think weeding may be her favorite thing about that. Large horses are of little importance. But food? Food rules all! Will do pretty much anything for food. When we asked Blanca to describe her ideal home, this is what she said. I'd love a fenced in yard where I can dig lots of holes and bury my things for later. She like to check back and make sure those buried items are still there. Nose/detection work anyone??? Meet Bullet.  Affectionally called "Bullie," he is the sweetest dog with a wonderful temperament, and an all-around goofy fellow.  He is a gorgeous one year-old neutered Malinois (possibly GSD mix, which lends to his goofy personality) that was owner surrendered because his family was moving. Staff reported he was delivered to the shelter in a wire crate strapped onto the back of an open trailer. Being accepted by MAD is the best thing to ever happen for Bullet as it became apparent that he was unvetted but thankfully healthy, underfed, and had never been inside a home or vehicle. As such, he is quickly learning leash manners and house manners. Riding in a vehicle is still a challenge for him, but his foster mom is working with him on this as well.  Staff also said he had a young boy upset to be losing his best friend who must have loved him dearly and played with him for hours. Bullet loves to play hard and he leans against you for affection before racing off to find a toy for you to toss to him. His favorite thing to do when you let him out of his crate is to take a biiiiiig stretch and slump down on your feet for belly rubs. He is a handsome, fun loving guy who is learning fast and has the temperament and talent to be the best dog you ever had. Bullet recently went through a two week board and train to evaluate what he knew, his skillset and to really get to the bottom of his nerves around riding in a vehicle. Watch his video! Cami is a 2 year old, DOB 6/20/20, she comes with a past (but don't we all), she was found as a stray in a rural area of Western New York. Currently being fostered near Buffalo, NY. No one claimed her, so we gladly scooped her up. This little girl, like seriously petite at 45 lbs, is unbelievably sweet to every person she meets.  Being the princess she is, she does come with a few demands. Playing ball all the time is a must, literally rain or shine. She will do ANYTHING for her ball! Cami doesnt let a little wetness ruin her fun. Actually she LOVES water, fighting the water from a hose is another favorite pastime of hers. Food? Eh she doesn't really care unless it's something she's not supposed to have. Cami has her sights set on being Queen one day, already tries to run the roost, but we already have a queen in this foster home. She does well with other dogs but needs to be managed as she can get reactive to high excitement energy. She is house and crate trained. Has wonderful obedience!! Like rally worthy (Videos available on request) Off leash reliable, e-collar trained, Great training/sport prospect! Older kids are fine, she snuggles with her 13 year old human foster brother. And he runs her through her OB routine. Rides well in a car, actually would probably live in a car if you let her. After a good day of running and mental games she does relax and sleep curled up at your feet. But I will warn you she can be a bed hog! Get your applications in fast as she will surely be scooped up quickly! Cami is not recommended for the first time Malinois owner, she can be a pet but needs to be worked daily! Cerci is a stunning Belgian Malinois who was surrendered to Madrescue by a good Samaritan. Cerci does play well with other dogs and plays rough. She is learning her obedience: sit, stay, recall. Cerci is low prey drive, she will play with a ball but gets board with it. She really likes to be with her handler so if your looking for a velcro Mal this is your gal. Cerci has a lot of energy is one of the most hyper active dogs that her foster has had. She will need a lot of physical and mental stimulation. She is fearful of small children but would do fine with adult children with proper introductions. This girl can jump and has cleared a 4ft fence with no problems. Do we have the lapdog for you! Donna wants nothing more than to be your snuggle partner for the rest of forever. She is eight years old, loves dog-confident people and is very much the chillest Mal/GSD ever. She needs less than an hour of exercise a day and would be perfectly content with a modest backyard. A great introduction to the breed. She loves snuggles, playing tug with her stuffy toys, and a good frozen marrow bone. She loves puppies but is not the biggest fan of dog socialization overall. She would do best as either the only dog, or with a puppy she can raise, or another older dog that's socially tuned in enough to leave her be. She is cat selective and people selective. She would love a quiet home with no children where she can love on one owner, or two with some time and proper socialization. She does best crated when company comes. Donna is incredibly sweet, is fully crate trained and housetrained, lounges and cuddles like a champ, walks beautifully on a leash, has mid-level obedience skills, and will gladly do anything her owner asks her to do.
