About Junie

Meet Junie: Junie is a sweet Lab/Border Collie mix that is 8 months old. Junie came from a rural area of Mississippi. A couple there had several intact dogs chained to trees surrounding a trailer to protect their trucks. The inevitable happened and by the time rescuers got there, there were 25 puppies cramped into a small outside kennel. Junie is very sweet but also very shy. He tends to bond strongly with one person and needs time, love, and patience to be comfortable in his new home and with new people. Junie would benefit from another dog in the home as he feels more confident when hes with other dogs. He's is up to date on his shots and neutered. Junie will need a fenced in yard. Meet Quince:  Quince and his 3 siblings were rescued by Charlies Crusaders when they were given away free in a Walmart parking lot. Quince was born right around Christmas 2021.  Quince is a lean and lanky 45 lbs and is neutered.  He would do best in a home with older children or adults only that can give him lots of exercise and mental stimulation.  Although he is a very energenic boy, a home that is more laid back and predictible would suit him best. Quince gets along wtih other dogs when introduced and loves to share his toys with them under supervision. He does have some resource guarding with food.  If your knowledgeable with dogs, you understand that not all dogs in a household can eat at the same time and this can be easily worked out by removing the other dog(s) in home during feeding time or being diligent and being in the same room at feeding time. Quince is in a boarding facility and works with a trainer.  Quince does requires a home with a fenced yard so that he can romp around freely.  He is potty trained, crate trained, and knows sit, stay, and down. Quince loves the outdoors including hiking, playing in water and car rides.  If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.  show less
